**Official 2022 Peds PASS/Interviews/Match/Non-Match**

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
did you guys write a separate "personal statement" for texas A&M?

Totally up to what you have done with your time in undergrad and dental school.
I included taking dental spanish courses, study clubs, tutoring, anything that would be considered extracurricular and outside of the school course load. Sports (sports teams) should be included if its a big part of what you did in undergrad or dental.

I only included two huge things that I did during my undergrad... But since I have worked after dental school it felt weird to go that far back and include things from like 2005 haha!

Most seem to be about 7am-5pm (earlier [5:30-6am-ish] when you are on GA or OCS cases). Obviously 24-hours when you are on call.
which programs are chill and which are known as rigorous?
I heard some program is 7 to 7 everyday + on calls

so... NYU, BU, USCUNLV, Rutgers, Loma Linda, (more?) require tuition...
bu, USC and Nyu seem most expensive ones?

Does Case Western do rolling interview invites?
My guess is yes because they still have 5 days until their deadline.

EDIT: Just looked back at last year's thread and it looks like they sent our interview invites on different dates (10/5 being the last).

hate to break it to you, but no residency is "chill". all the programs are held to strict requirements by coda, and they pack so much into 2 short years. maybe no one's told you, but every resident across the country works their ass off to earn the right to be a specialist in this field. its no cake walk after you match.... from your previous questions it seems like you have alot of research to do...best of luck

that's what I heard from a current resident. he said some are much busier than others. maybe programs with tuition?
do you have any info on each program's pros/cons?

any info on NYU Langone peds programs? Hawaii, San Diego, Rhode Island..etc?

Is there minimum GPA requirement for the acceptance?

For those that applied to Rutgers- who did you address the check to? and what was the exact address? I didn't see it on their website..

  • Must upload unofficial undergraduate transcripts to the ADEA PASS application

Does this mean Dental School transcript? or Undergraduate College transcript???

For UCSF, do you need to take INDBE even if you passed NBDE Part 1 and 2?

Do you need to send official transcripts and nbde results for this program?

For UW seattle, do you need to submit supplements in hard copy? not electronically?

As for CV/Resume, in addition to CV/Resume, PASS also has two more Revised CV/Resume sections...?Is it better to delete the original one and upload the new one to CV/Resume instead of submitting both old CV and new CV??

did y'all put virtual externships on your PASS applications?
@hhk0036
These are my responses to your questions, in order:

1. Tuition based tells you nothing about which programs are busier. Often tuition programs are more school based. A list of Pros/cons are hard to come by for peds residencies. Try googling the peds residency in question and see what comes up. Additionally, a lot of schools are doing virtual internships right now. Or reach out to former graduates who went into peds, often they know someone who attended one of the programs in question.

2. Again inside info is hard to come by for peds residencies. Try the search tips above.

3. Some programs have a hard gpa cutoff, but as far as I know, most don’t have this as a “requirement”

4. Unofficial undergrad transcripts

5. If you passed NDBE parts 1/2, you do not need to take the INDBE.

6. If the program asks for hard copies, then go ahead and follow this direction. I’m guessing this makes the way they do the selection process run smoother. If they don’t directly ask for hard copies, assume electronic copies.

7. Once you upload a CV/resume you can’t delete it. So it’s better to upload only your new CV/resume.

@beebee123

Yes I did. Although I don’t imagine they carry a ton of weight in the eyes of programs

did y'all put virtual externships on your PASS applications?
I didn't with the exception of Temple and Cincinnati. Temple had those secondary questions as part of the app and I included it there... and Cincinnati asked "did you participate in a virtual externship?" in their questions.

In the case of Columbia, it would be shorter to list the people that were NOT in that virtual externship 🤣

I'm sure it does not hurt to list them though!

  • Additional Information: $
Do not submit any supplemental materials with this PASS application.

NYU Langone says this ^ what should we do? no ps?

Applicants must pass the National Board Dental Examination (NBDE), Part I by the application deadline. Applicants must submit their scores for the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INDBE) prior to the match deadline in order to be ranked by the program.

this is what UCSF says? does it mean we need to take inbde in addition to nbde part 1 and 2?? in order to be ranked by program??

Oh I see. No it means, you either have to have completed Part 1 of the NBDE or have completed the INDBE by the time you apply. But you don’t need both

@ T00thDr, thank you very much for starting this thread. I have a suggestion if you do not mind! Can you please make the school invites in bold in the list of schools? that way they are easier to spot just like last years'.

You got it! Just updated it.

I'll post Friday updates with the new invites from the week bolded and past weeks unbolded.

Anybody that is posting a new invite: feel free to copy the big list of schools (from a post above you or on page 1 of this thread), unbold everything, and only bold your new invite that you are adding.

Hopefully this week is full of invites!

Anybody have their check cashed from Temple?

Mine did and they sent " your application is now complete " email . Shoot them an email and check on the status
I got the email a while ago that said it was completed. I emailed to ask if they received my snail mail and they said "yeah, we just have not cashed your check yet." But that was like a month ago so I just thought I would ask.

Maybe they just do a batch every month, lol.

EDIT FOR FUTURE READERS: Ended up getting cashed about 9 days after posting this.

Anyone know if NYU Langone programs accept Canadians? (not dual citizens, just Canadians)
I ask because I know on their website, they say they do accept Canadians but all the practicing pediatric dentists in my province that have done their residency at Langone are either US citizens or dual US/Canada citizens...

Yah I'm certain they do it in batches , hopefully we hear from them soon ..
