I took my cat to an extreme vetWell, we do have an extreme vetting process here in this thread. Why don't you have a seat and tell us about your qualifications? I want to be blown away.
welcome welcome! cute cat pic btw 😉I only have a DO acceptance so far, but I want to join this thread anyway because the memes are great and I'll still be a Doc come 2021...waiting on 3 MD interview "results" still, the wait is really starting to be a drag.
Also, I made myself read this whole thread first. Not that you care, but I did. Great memes. Congrats to all who have been accepted!

definitely!!!!! hahaha she's very sweet 🙄Thanks @Dr.Kat...It's a pic of my cat when she was a kitten. I love cats, and I'm going to assume you are also a cat person 😛
There are free internet websites that let you fax. If you can scan the release. Otherwise Kinkos.so for the background check, is faxing the georgia release the only option? currently don't have access to a fax machine for a while
Honestly. Faxing is only still in place because of institutional inertia. Faxes can be hacked as well , and most institutions use VoIP for their fax lines . So they literally use an internet connection to create a phone line to fax things over it.FYI: faxing/mailing forms is more secure than email, and often why it's required. If you have sensitive info on your form (social, etc), might be worth it to look into privacy policies/security measures on those free internet websites/apps before sending?![]()
Interesting. I fax medical records all the time wasting tons of paper because its supposedly more secure. It would make much more sense to just email them through a secure email.Honestly. Meaningful use had a specific goal to increase digital access to patients of their records. Most large organizations have health portals where you can log in and access your results. My PCP is a small office but is hooked up to a larger organization and performs scheduling, health records and communication through secure email and messaging/portal.Great. Can I tell this to my doc when he refuses to email my results because "HIPAA"? Don't care if it's unencrypted, hackers can know my health is ~*~*PeRfEcT*~*~![]()
Isn't the whole "because HIPAA" thing just to make sure you go through the medical records department and they make sure they're disseminating the information correctly?Great. You only have to fax them additional info if they request it 🙂Wait, what is this fax for the background check? Something other than certiphi?

Omg, same! I'm kind of freaking out about this. How are you all planning on coordinating the moving process/housing search. I know it is super early, but, the idea of planning a move across the country and then getting off of the waitlist at my top choice really excites me/stresses me out.
Are you secretly me? It looks like we have almost the exact same AMCAS cycle results 😱 (except on opposite coasts)Omg, same! I'm kind of freaking out about this.

It is never too early to investigate housing. After reading that I immediately felt like the mother who didn't enroll her child in the top preschool in the state while still pregnantIt is never too early to investigate housing. I am already on a waitlist for an apartment in the city where I will be attending school.
Haha I felt that it came off that way after writing it. In all seriousness though, I have seen far too many people have to couch surf, live somewhere undesirable, or in a motel until housing opened up. When I reserved my place on the apartment waitlist, the person on the phone told me that I was not even the first student on the list...and this was back in November. After reading that I immediately felt like the mother who didn't enroll her child in the top preschool in the state while still pregnant![]()

got to admit, that was a @KoalaT response
I actually had this for my avatar for a minute since he is in my top 3. Maybe I should switch it back...Apartment hunting is the pits, but it's nice to know waitlist suffering extends to non-med school app parts of the world.
I had to post something on topic so I can go a little off topic: I saw your screen name and immediately thought your avatar would be this:

As for where I am on a waitlist for an apartment? Philly area. What state or part of the country is this?
My one year work anniversary at my current lab ...
I'm so over it ... ahahaha
I'm a reapplicant. Last year I thought I'd be quitting by august. When that didn't happen... it sucked sooooo much. Now that I'm actually accepted, I'm so close to saying "peace out!" when it's getting me down. Working at basically 30% effort...My one year work anniversary at my current lab ...

I honestly don't need the $$$. But I just finished booking a Eurotrip from June 28th - July 22nd through Barcelona, Ibiza, zurich, munich, vienna, budapest, prague, berlin, amsterdam, and london. So now I kind of do need the money... For those curious, the trip is really not that expensive at all. Flights were like $1400 and the largest expense. After all travel/planes/trains and all hostels/hotels for all days, I've only spent $2300. I budgeted for 4k but it's looking like I get out with only 3K.I honestly love my job on most days. Despite that, if I didn't need $$$ I probably would have quit to read books, play video, and not wear real clothes while eating cookies. The lazy life calls to me.

Spain and Prague will be cheap, Switzerland and Germany not so much. I would recommend daylight train travel to Switzerland since that is the best part of Switzerland, Zurich is kind of boring besides that.I honestly don't need the $$$. I suggest it! You'll never have 30 days to burn again in the rest of your life to do a backpacking euro trip. I'll be in $204,000 of debt instead of $200,000 of debt after medical school, so I don't think money should really stop us!
Yes, I am so excited for travel! I'm doing a 2 week trip to Iceland and the UK. The flight was actually the cheapest part, under $600 round trip. I was planning on staying in hostels as well, but my family freaked out when I told them I was going out of the country alone haha. So me and my sister are going together with hotels covered as a Christmas gift from the parents.I honestly don't need the $$$.
