I'm torn between 2 schools. Maybe you guys can all weigh in.

School 1. (MD) Unranked

Yearly CoA is 20k but it has little research, no affiliated teaching hospital, very few residency programs

School 2. (MD) ~50

Yearly CoA is 70k, tons of research, large teaching hospital, lots of residency programs.

Which would u guys choose?

The grass is always greener on the other side...however, as a 3rd at a school that fits school 1's description I'd say the extra debt associated with school 2 is worth it in the long run.

What cha trying to do? Derm , ortho, uro, NSG? option two, otherwise option 1 is good.

I wasn't planning on moving until later but we found a perfect house and are flying out to sign the paper work next week. So we will probably move in two weeks.

It's all happened so fast! But so excited to explore the new city before school starts.

Buying. Doing a 5 year program, and SO has VA loan so in the end worse case is coming out even. Really hoping to stay in home program for residency, but if not we will hold onto and rent it.

School does subsidized housing but we have two dogs and two children. Strict no pet policy and they only have 2 beds available. We are sure we will have another child during my master's year so a house was the best option looking at all the pros and cons.

i say go with choice 2. did you see yourself as a good fit at both? or does one stand out in that regard? Go where you'll be most comfortable and happiest

Just started looking this weekend...the area of the country I'm moving to isn't high-demand lol, so I've been casually looking. Luckily there's lots of affordable options. Looking to live alone in 1 bedroom with my cat :}

You are so lucky! I'm looking at least 1K/month for a one bedroom. It is making me seriously debate getting a roommate. I've talked to a couple SDNers about it so we'll see what happens
 
That's so cringey, I'm sorry. Reminds me of a guy I met on the bus who tried to impress me by saying he was gonna go to Harvard Med "and major in neurosurgery." He was in his 50s, referred to the MCAT as the MCUTS, and also claimed to be the CEO of a modeling agency (he gave me a 'business' card that just had a picture of his face from back when he had hair, and a regular gmail address on it).

Are you familiar with R type reproductive strategies vs K type?This is an R-type. They are trying it because there is little to lose and only the risk of an upside. Who cares what someone thinks of you and someone may actually fall for it. Even if it is .1 percent of the women you hit on using this method if you hit on enough women it will pay off.

I hope so. My official COA just got posted and it doesn't look to promising. If I followed schools suggestion for room and board I would have only 1K/month. So idk if its possible to get a 1 bedroom anymore.

Yeah twitter didn't work for me. I kinda felt bad towards the end I feel like the guy had a serious mental illness or something. At the least he was a pathological liar.

Could the wayback machine work, his website address is active but there is nothing there.
