First, congrats to all those who been accepted at P&S, I strongly encourage all accepted students to try and come to the revisit weekend about which you should be receiving information. If you are planning to come it is a great way to meet classmates, if you are on the fence it's a great chance to meet students and future classmates and get any remaining questions answered.
To those who have been wait listed, have faith. If Columbia is truly the only school you would want to attend, let the admissions people know, enthusiasm counts. However, if you write crap like that to all of the schools you were waitlisted at, don't bother. There are second interviews with Dr. Frantz that have been very helpful in the past.
If you were rejected, take heart...after a few years here I have come to realize that the people who do admssions here and at other schools know exactly what they are looking for and who will do well in their school's system. If you were a good enough candidate to have been interviewed at P&S, you will get into medical school (provided it wasn't the only school you applied to). There were many schools I was rejected from, and in the final analysis, though I thought I would like to be elsewhere, I am definitely the happiest to be where I am. In the end, people end up in a school that is right for them. Believe me, the people who do admissions know a lot more about their school than you do.
Just remember, the road is long and the hurdles are high, but this too shall pass.
