Official Doctor Who WW Redux Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The only person yesterday night who tried to pry our "positions" in this game was you - not me.

Can you clarify how exactly SOV was trying to "pry" information? Or are you saying that just because he's the one who started the conversation thread?

I can't because it involves him "dropping a role".

Wait - SOV. You dropped your role too which seems hella more important than what Chilbo has. If you're claiming that I attacked Chilbo because I'm a n00b werewolf, why the hell wouldn't I go after you instead. If I was a wolf and wanted to go after an important role, I'd go after you and not the cat-man, no?

Unfortunately, he can't explain why because he conveniently left and will supposedly return after I get lynched. 🙄

Hmmmm I dunno. SOV dropped a role, then Chilbo dropped a role. Chilbo ends up dead.

Key question - did SOV drop his role to the entire group or to you specifically?

It would be quite unlike SOV to drop a role to someone unless he was a seer or had an item, and had cleared them first. And obviously he hasn't cleared you, or else he'd wouldn't be voting for you. So something seems odd with this whole thing.

And we are back in business, hooray SDN!

Deadline is still 8pm EST, barring a massive server shutdown. So make sure you get your votes in early if you can...

Then again, if you're accusing SOV of being a wolf and killing Chilbo because Chilbo announced his role to the group, that seems way too obvious for SOV.

In fact, it seems too obvious period. Chilbo announces to group he's a Cat-Man, or whatever, not even saying what he could do (I'm assuming) and ends up dead? I would never, as a wolf, kill off the first person in my group that role-revealed to everyone. That'd be stupid as hell and would make it very obvious that there was a wolf in the group. So unless we have a trigger-happy noob wolf calling the shots for all of them, I'm starting to rethink the idea what we have a wolf in that group anyway.

Unless a wolf in that group thought that SOV (since I'm guessing he was the only one other than Chilbo to role drop) was such a threat that they decided to risk having suspicion come onto that group in order to try and get him lynched.

Unlynch Dom for the moment. This just seems to fishy.

So for those of you who haven't kept up (or have gotten lost in the madness):

Reasons for SOV Lynch:

(When accusing me) he said I killed Bilbo to get rid of the Tardis. I knew fully well that items lost during night shifts are redistributed. He did not.

He saw me (a first WW timer) in his group and figured he could get away with a n00b move like killing chilbo after chilbo role dropped and blaming it on me. Obvious wolf move is obvious.

SOV claims ignorance of Dr. Who. Fair enough - so do I. However, he dropped his role upon opening the starting conversation. The method in which he pried us was sort of encrypted; he stated that he was a "villager" - no special role, no crazy character or nothing. Dyachei did not offer any hint as to what role she could have been. Neither do I nor fancy. Dev is sleeping. Chilbo tells us he's a "cat-man" and ends up dead. I think SOV was trying to figure out what exactly the villagers were called in this game via the PM box without having to ask blatantly on the forums. The reason why i'm so convinced he's a bad guy is that in his role drop, he didn't say something that Chilbo later did in to confirm that he (SOV) isn't a WW.

After reviewing his initial pm for allieh to clarify how to pry, I read a few sentences down from his initial role-drop and see that he says something that would make him arguably one of the most important players in the game. Hence, why wouldn't I have gone after SOV instead of Chilbo? SOV = important role. Chilbo = a cat.

@devyn @fancymylotus & dy should be able to confirm this aswell. It's in our PM box...

(Sorry if im being sketchy about what role SOV claimed - I'm just being prudent). I just need the girls to re read the initial PM carefully and not only see his inconsistencies, but the role he's actually claiming to have.

Maybe the wolves are intentionally raising suspicions on the group to avoid suspicion (confusing I know but lemme explain).

This is a little crazy but maybe the wolves were expecting a reverse psychological take of the events? Everyone seems to agree that killing off an immediate role-reveal is a stupid move and that no good wolf would do it, but maybe that's why they did it? Cuz then they can try and place blame on someone else within the group and kill 2 birds with one stone? That being said, I'm skeptical of all of the people in the group, especially those who are trying to sway votes.

***lynch Dom*** as they've been the most vocal about who everyone should lynch and trying to influence everyone.

Exactly!

This is my first time in the rodeo - doesn't mean I haven't watched the others. As a wolf, knowing that Chilbo was a good guy, why the hell would I go for him N1. Furthermore, knowing that SOV role dropped too, why would I go for Chilbo? The girls in my group can confirm this - SOV would've been a more notable choice, especially after revealing what he did to us N1.

JFC I got accused of being the WW. You want me to log off and go cry in the corner or actually play the damn game?

Remember that SOV tried to get the tide going against me - not vice versa.

Possible. But reverse psychology is a dangerous tactic. I've only used it successfully once or twice as a wolf. The problem with it is that in WW people love to bandwagon, and often don't think before they do. The people who sit and think about it (your target audience) are often drowned out. You could use it later in the game with fewer players or players who are more apt to not go off as soon as the starting gun pops, but this early? With everyone looking for an easy Day-1 lynch vote and dying for any sort of info so it isn't random? Risky.

Checking in..
I am sticking with Dom vote. Don't know this person at all, but the defensive response is all out of proportion. Typical wolf.
I am not a dumb wolf. I am not a wolf. Anyone who actually has paid attention would know that.
Later.

Yet you vote to lynch me. 🙄

Normally I wouldn't do someone else's homework. Like I've said, I wouldn't mind if I was just the easy day 1 lynch - at least that's a valid reason. To accuse me of being a WW when you have a bunch of facts pointing to the contrary is why I am so adamantly defending myself (and why I'm actually having a bit of fun right now).

Domenic...you are really off the rails...

First off, I didn't mention my role, I talked about something in my role description. I, unlike you, am not in my first rodeo. I was trying to see if anyone knew what the doctor stepping into people's minds meant. Not that I am the doctor. Absolutely not. Would never reveal such an important role when I have one. I are Wolff base.

Secondly I didn't ask for anyone's role. Not fishing...just getting the ball started in our group which tons of people do.. I do this sometimes, not always.

Third, I revealed that I was a villager but that my role description doesn't say "ou are a villager" like many do as a way for others to trust me. A wolf wouldn't know that roles don't have that kind of info.

Finally, you are taking this way too personal. I didn't say you did anything...I said it was possible someone in our group did it. I selected you because you are a noob and most likely t make a mistake....but unlike you,I have no certainty of it. How you can be so wrongly convinced I am a wolf just shows either your noobiness or your wolfiness.

Lol SOV i'm not taking it personal nor do I have anything personal against you/reservations of workign with you in the future. I'm really enjoying myself. I just think you're a WW and making my case 😉.

Since you brought it up

You said you had the power to step into peoples minds. then you say you thought that "the Doctor would be a good guy, no?".

I don't know if I can quote the PM or not but

...mentioned something about the "Doctor stepping into people's minds.
... It sounds wolfish, but I thought the Doctor would be a good guy, no?

Kind of wish I were playing so I could say words and really glad I am not at the same time....

I will just keep doing this:

I can only take so much fault, buddy, for being a noob at this ****. Just because i'm in here for the first time doesn't mean I popped out of the womb yesterday.

Another encrypted message proving SOV is the werewolf. Don't ask me how I know this.

Ok, I'm somewhat convinced again. This is getting to be crazy talk and it sounds like Dom is taking things out of context and grasping at straws in order to get the person who has the next highest # of votes (barring fancy, who no one really has anything on) lynched, so I'm going back to my original vote - lynch Dom.

Clearly, my loud & abrasive posting style that the loungers have come to known and love has cost me this one.

I just got a break from work...my Dad is here today and he's been on my case so havent had a chance to catch up on this thread. Dom is a new player so not sure if his posts are coz he's a newbie or a bad guy.

I'm confused.

So which is it: Is Domenic an experienced lounge player that loungers have "come to know and love" or is he a "new player"?

Now I'm starting to think I should have voted to lynch Dom.

UGH!

No i'm a lounger - I have a brash/trollish posting style sometimes. Definitely a WW newbie, though.

Nonsense. If there is one thing you can count on from SOV, it's that he'll lie, twist, and fabricate something about his role. And how many times has he pulled some game-opening role-claim to try and accomplish one thing or another?

The only problem is that he does it as a wolf AND as a villager. So it's not a great test.

lynch allie I'm not totally sold on this whole Dom/SOV business so I'm going with a random vote.

I should have clarified - if he was a villager, I doubt he would role-drop N1. I could be wrong, but that's what I gathered the couple times I've played in close communication with him.

If he was a wolf, I would totally believe he'd do it with an alias to throw people off the scent immediately.

But this doesn't sound like he actually named someone, just asked vague questions, which could put him in either camp.

Yeah. I buy that, sorry. In my experience, he's not likely to role-drop unless he's also trying to claim some role ability in an attempt to manipulate things somehow (like when he tried to claim he couldn't be killed). But role alone? Probably not.

He named the Doctor WTF.

I quoted him.

"Doctor stepping into people's minds.
... It sounds wolfish, but I thought the Doctor would be a good guy, no?

You see - I catch subtle hints like these. I am of value to the good guys. I'm proficient at psycho-analyzing and obviously, too good at being hard to read.

- sigh -

Anyone have a lynch tally? I don't want to create a tie

So...you're saying SOV would directly implicate himself, if he claimed this role, as wolfish to the group? :eyebrow: That doesn't make any sense.

You're right, doesn't make any sense because that's not what i'm saying XD .

My argument was made above. I'm tired of re-itterating it over and over.

When " You have lynched Domenic AKA " " " is posted at 8:00pm, maybe you all will take what I had to say more seriously instead of going "noob = wolf". In that respect, at least I help the good guys after i'm lynched.

For now, I'm hungry and got to get some work done. See you later, comrades.
