Cost of living in the dc area is atrocious! And the georgetown facilities and hospital are sooo dated and unimpressive. OSU definitely beats georgetown on both of those factors. The only things georgetown really has going for it is it's "name" to the non-medical folk (does that even matter?) and its dc location (amazing city for young adults!). So.. it's a tough decision...

OSU for sure. (Gtown: facilities and organization of the school are not good).

i'm having the same debate.

DC is absolutely AMAZING but that's all that georgetown has on OSU.

i want to be in a metropolitan city desperately, but deep down... I know OSU is far better than GUSOM.

... at least columbus is a college town where the entire city caters to osu students.

OSU!

As a GTown undergrad who worked in the hospital for several years... it's not even the med school facilities that are the problem. GTown sold the hospital to Medstar, and the quality of the core services (medicine, general surgery, pediatrics) has become atrocious. The medicine residency at gtown was something like 60% FMGs this year, if that's any indication.

I love Georgetown, and if you were going to do undergrad or law school there it'd be a no brainer... but avoid gtown med.

Turner leaving is a big negative, but I guess I'm willing to make sacrifices for my education haha. Hearing that about the hospital though is a big turnoff though.

Which one did you like more? I can't say much about OSU but I've heard its great. Gtown seems like a school that you either love or hate. I know it really stood out to me on my interview day and basically it was my top choice after that. They have a lot of great opportunities in research, health policy, and clinical exposure...but I am sure OSU does as well (maybe not policy though). Also, their match list is rather impressive. On the down side, they are super expensive and I hear living in DC will just add to the costs...

I interviewed at both, and to me OSU was definitely more impressive in all aspects. The only thing Gtown was superior at was the DC area.
