She is in my class. Fun Asian girl. She did an externship up there in September I think. She interviewed with me in the second group at OHSU on November 30th.

got a question. can the program who interviewed an applicant not even rank that person?
i have a school that was #3 on my rank but i didnt match there and they had 1 open spot today.
is that possible?

This is entirely possible. The program in question does not have to rank you just as you are able to not rank them.

congratulations everybody. looks like everybody matched at nice programs. you all should enjoy it as much as you can, because like ecslavo says, it won't last long once residency starts, until you start med school, then you can relax again.

So is ucsf going to have 8 chief residents 6 yrs from now since they recently coverted the program to 6 yrs??

When I interviewed at UCSF that was the story I got and one of the reasons I wasn't big on the program. There were going to be seven chiefs!! (not eight) my chief year. However, I think that has changed and the three applicants that matched last year (on the seven year track) have been converted to a six year track along with the applicants this year.
