This thread is for applicants that have received a delayed decision/hold for the PCOM Philadelphia Campus.

Please post your interview date and date delayed decision was received.

Hopefully we'll get some good news in April and beyond 😎

Interviewed 1/16, received DD letter dated 2/19 on 2/22. Hopefully we are coming up on another decision day.

Have any of you communicated with the admissions office since you got your delayed decision letter? I know they don’t accept updates but have you asked them any questions?

I have. In a nutshell: a delayed decision is exactly what the name suggests. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. A decision won’t be made until after they are done interviewing.

I did however send an update that was added to my file.

I did try to reach out to admissions a while back and ask if they had a timeline (mostly concerned about May 1) for final waitlist and rejections and got an incredibly rude email back that they don't share that information. I would hope it would be end of April for at least WL decisions.

I heard horror stories about PCOM not releasing decisions until right before class begins for some applicants.

Are we talking delayed decisions or people getting accepted off the wait list right before classes begin? People do get accepted right before class from wait list . Normally by the summer, delayed/holds have some type of decision: a wait list, reject, or accept.

Oh I guess I assumed that the decision would either be A or R. Didn't know waitlist could factor into that too.

Damnit PCOM

It is. Actually WL is the most likely decision for delayed decisions that are not accepted especially if we're under the belief that if admissions wanted to reject us they would've done it already.

If someone withdraws then someone will be pulled from the waitlist. If someone withdraws the week before orientation unfortunately, or fortunately for someone, they will get offered a seat. Withdrawals are out of their control. They need to fill the class so if someone thinks they are not going to attend do everyone a favor and let them know.

Deposits were due yesterday I guess we'll see if the DD and waitlist apps hear back by next week. Fingers crossed for everyone :xf:

Just got put on waitlist from DD by mail today.

Smh, this cycle really isn't going well for me at all

The brightside is that you weren't rejected. The WL is not a bad spot but it can be frustrating. Trust me, I've been there.

Hmmm I'm also DD and I didn't receive anything in the mail yet and I live in Philly.

Philly gang gang. And here I thought I was gonna get some in-state bias 🙁

how did you check mail preview?
It’s a service provided by USPS called Informed Delivery. Shows you a scanned preview picture of your mail for the day (just the outside of the envelope). Big enveloped don’t appear in the preview. So I already know I’m not getting an acceptance 🙁

I too looked at my letter online which is arriving today. How big is the acceptance letter? cause another acceptance letter I got from another school was the same size as this one, priced at 50 cents?

Just check your online portal to see if you have a deposit link for PCOM

Based on what I’ve seen the acceptance packet is a thick blue folder with acceptance info. So it’s a larger envelope typically.

Haha agreed! Just got waitlisted as well...small white envelope...at least it’s not a rejection. It’s very small but still a chance!!!!

Whats traffic day?
April 30th when applicants with multiple MD school acceptances can begin to "commit to enroll" at specific MD schools. The new traffic rules by AAMC will hopefully mean that there is a large WL wave at MD schools which will then have lead to more openings at DO schools...hopefully.

Waitlist here. Going to be removing myself from the WL, as I really really didn’t not have a good experience with this school. Good luck you guys! Wish you all the best!
