How often do you guys think they'll be mailing out decisions if they're supposedly meeting weekly to discussed wait listed applicants? Anyone have an idea?

Sent in my final grades and got a sassy response in return 🙁 does this mean they don't care about them?

What was in the sassy response? It probably means their cycle is already pretty much over and it won't make a difference.

Did they tell you that you can't send them in and it has to come from the school?

I haven't spoken with PCOM admissions. I would imagine every transcript has to be sent in from the school's registrar.

How soon did the rest of you get your Nucleus account info after depositing tuition and mailing the Tech Standards in? Should I be expecting something really soon? If so how soon?

Still kinda paranoid about this all being some kind of accidental acceptance.

I contacted student affairs yesterday and they said that since I just recently paid the deposit, I shouldn't expect and email regarding my nucleus account as well as financial aid info for about another week or so

Ah k. Thanks!

Fin Aid got me a bit perplexed. Hopefully PCOM walks students through it. I'm going to need a lot of hand holding for it that's for sure. :slap:

Where are people planning to live and how are you finding roomates? I don't have facebook so I'm feeling a bit out of the loop.

Not sure the reasons you don't have a facebook/don't want one, but maybe it would be beneficial to get one in the future for class notes/files sharing. A lot of us are getting organized on the group and there have been some upperclassman who have given us some tips/advice. Currently the facebook group is literally full of people looking for roommates, looking for apartments, etc. Maybe worth the investment to just get one and join the group for that if you're having trouble connecting in another way.

People seem to be living either:
1) Within close walking distance of the school (10min)
2) Within close driving distance of the school (10min drive, probs 20+min walk)

Popular neighborhoods:
1) Manayunk
2) East Falls
3) Center City
4) Fairmount
5) City Line Ave (not really a neighborhood, but there are a few apartment complexes near this major road)

Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I was thinking Fairmount or Manayunk so hopefully I can find some like-minded folks. I loathe facebook but may just create one to figure out this shelter situation.

If you have access to Nucleus, there's also a housing group on there where people have been posting looking for roommates. 🙂

Got a link for the FB group? Thanks!

As far as I know, still post-interview delayed decision. Aren't they supposed to at least wait-list me at some point?

No date, but I got it ages ago. I like this school a lot but I really need to start apartment hunting in a week or two somewhere else before they are all gone and I'm scared I'm going to pay first and last month's rent somewhere and then they'll be like, "We now accept you!"

I would almost even take a rejection at this point to get it over with.

Ok if I were you I would contact the admissions office tomorrow and explain to them that you haven't received any word since your DD letter and you were wondering if there was anything more they could tell you. My DD letter didn't have a date either but I still heard back on 4/25

Did you get an email about the background check?

Nah I just went to the company's website and picked PCOM for the background check. It automatically delivers results to your school etc. I was just trying to figure out how it works.

Did they tell you that you can't send them in and it has to come from the school?

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of the country!

As per their instructions, I sent in my newly graded coursework for my spring semester. I did very well, so I definitely wanted it to be included. I sent a screenshot of my grades with the offer that I could also have an official transcript sent if needed. Their email response back to me:

"The Committee will only review official transcripts if they have requested you to submit grades."

Okay, then. I was just following what you said in the waitlist email. I hope it isn't a mark against me because I really do love the school still.

Hey guys, some of us in the 2016-2017 pcom app thread had a question about the letters of rec so I thought I'd ask here!

For the Letters of Rec requirement, I know it says on the PCOM website to have the course number and title stated in the letter. However, I just came across this because wasn't sure about applying here but I already have all of my letters on Interfolio. So, my question is, are they that strict at PCOM about having the course number and name stated in each specific letter written by a faculty member? I waived my right to see the letters so I have no idea what is written but seeing as putting the course name and number is not a usual requirement, what should I do? I feel bad to make my letter writers have to resubmit each letter...

Any responses from past applicants/students would be greatly appreciated!

One of my professor's forgot to mention the course number, my application was placed on hold for about a month because of it. I was a bit concerned, but when I called they had mentioned that my professor could email PCOM admissions with the course number (or something so that it may be identified on my transcript).

@postcardstamps ohhh dang that is annoying and I feel like I might have to do something like that down the road...did the application hold up impact your admissions decision? Or as long as your professors emailed them, you were good to go and it was as if nothing happened?

I don't think it had any impact on admissions, I did ultimately receive an interview ( I was wait listed though). The reason it took so long was because when I called the office staff they encouraged me to just watch the portal for any additional info needed. Finally, after about a month, I called again and someone was nice enough to review my file and explain to me that the course info was needed. I sent an email to that professor, they sent an email to admissions, everything was cleared up about a week later. I should have been clearer: the month wait was really because I didn't want to continue to bother them on the phone!

They put any problems with letters on the portal so if a letter is not on letterhead or a course not in the letter they put it on the portal to you know to get it fixed. It really is a pretty good system to cut down on the phone calls.

Hi everyone, I didn't find the PCOM discussion thread for 2016-2017. I am just wondering how many secondary essays there are and what are the prompts for those essays. Are there any other documents that we need to submit, such as resume or CV? Thanks!

HELP. DOES THIS MEAN ANYTHING!!?? "required DO deposit"
Yes I had the EXACT notification on my portal w/o the link before I got my acceptance letter. The letter and link came a few days almost a week later lol
Congrats!
