I've got that relationship with mac and cheese. And basically any Italian food. And nachos. And tacos. And chicken fried steak. And burgers. Fuuuuu, the curse of being able to cook well...I can't get eggs Benedict when I go to restaurants because my granddad makes the literal best eggs Benedict ever and it tastes awful anywhere compared to his 🙁 it's a blessing and a curse...
To you, they taste like deathAlso, just saying, I'm deathly allergic to eggs. So I have no idea what they taste like.
Bahaha yep that's what I was missingTo you, they taste like death
**********I've never had eggs Benedict made by anyone but my dad. He even buys me fake Canadian bacon to put on it. I don't like runny yolks though so next time I was promised poached eggs with cooked solid yolks

yes to the mac and cheese. It's kind of disappointing how many restaurants can't do a good one. It's not that hard to make.I've got that relationship with mac and cheese. Olive Garden is disgusting. Luckily, my husband never understood the appeal, either. All my friends think I'm snobby when I say I don't like Olive Garden or any other chain Italian restaurant... It's just not the same as my off-the-boat Italian family's cooking!
I don't like chains in general. The food is mediocre at best. My family cooks really well, so I prefer home cooked to going out most times. There are some small local places that I like, and one makes some banging mac & cheese that I think even MJ would like. All my friends think I'm snobby when I say I don't like Olive Garden or any other chain Italian restaurant... 😍 going home for Easter dinner means eating homemade pierogies. 😍)
Kraft is a completely different beast and holds a special place in my heart. I don't consider it mac and cheeseHow do y'all like mac and cheese? My family always baked it, so that's what I'm used to. For that reason, I can't do the Kraft/Easy Mac nonsense.

What I do: I pick several types of gourmet cheeses including at least 1 gruyere, sharp cheddar, cream cheese (or mascarpone), and bleu cheese type (that one in small amounts). I usually end up with 6 types of cheese. I melt the cheeses with cream and add a dollop of mustard and pour them over cooked noodles. Then I top with panko breading and bake for about 30-45 minutes. I never have leftovers when I make it (which makes me sad)
Not a family secret. I find that the sharper cheeses tend to go better. So I might be taking notes... I hope this isn't a family secret or something
This looks familiar to me! The shell is always the best part.
It's the same damn picture!*****
You still haven't cleaned your stove!!!

************FWIW, I usually offer to make mac and cheese for any house guests.
nope. I've already had a few SDN houseguests. Can't remember if I made it for @LetItSnow or not. I didn't for @DVMDream but I was recently post op there.************
Are you trying to get all of sdn to show up at your door? 😉
