This will probably be the dumbest question ever posted:

I made a photocopy of my GRE score report to mail to KSU (as was their instructions) and the copy literally says the word "COPY" all over the page. Is this just a security feature added to all the score reports or is my copy machine broken.

It's the same as transcripts. It's so you have to order them from the school/GRE service and can't copy them yourself.

Probably some anti-tampering stuff too. But no, it's not your copier, it's the paper the GRE score report is printed on.

Where did you get a score report that has 'copy' all over it?
I'm also applying to KSU but was just going to send them the copy of the scores that I received when I received them in the mail. However, they do say 'This report is not valid for transmission of scores to an institution'. I didn't know if this was acceptable, but I have nothing else to send.

I am fairly positive that the score report you send KSU is supposed to say "COPY" all over it. These are watermarks that are built into the GRE score report to prevent people from just photocopying new score reports.
LittleWiz: You may want to check with KSU about sending your copy of the score report (one you got in the mail) because the KSU supplemental instructions specifically say to send a photocopy. You are probably fine sending it as you are, but it probably wouldn't hurt to just call them and ask.

So, stupid question about the K-State supplemental: When it asks you to list the number of semesters/quarters in which you took more than 15 hours, are you supposed to include the current semester and the upcoming spring semester?

This is pretty standard for a transcript sent to a student ("unofficial") rather than directly to another institution ("official"). I can't remember what their requirements were, but some schools say an unofficial is fine if you mail it to them in the unopened envelope. I'd check with admission just to be sure. I think I had mine sent directly to KSU --which they did say was ok, but suggested I check to make sure everything ended up arriving.

Anyway, welcome all you KSU hopefulls! I hope to see some of you next year.

OK, continuing with the theme of silly questions about one of the simplest supplementals ever...

1) For years of college completed by Spring 2011, should we include graduate years? and how have people handled part time schooling after graduating?

2) For the last 45 undergrad hours, I couldn't find in their FAQ how to calculate that... does anyone know if that is last 45 of full time college, or just the last 45 undergrad hours, regardless of when they were taken?

3) Has anyone attached an extra page to list all schools attended? The give us 6 lines and I've attended 11... if I just put the most recent 6 it won't even include my undergrad institution, so I figure I should probably attach an extra page to list them all? I know, I'm getting paranoid now.

And yes, I know the best answer is to call them, but it is the weekend and I am getting stressed/impatient to get this stuff done! Thanks!

For the last 45, they used the word 'semester' in there, so I did the last 45 including all of the semester in which the 45 hours fell. So for me, it was more like the last 51 or so. It made sense at the time...

does anyone know for sure whether or not the GRE scores have to be a COPY? or can they be the actual thing?? hmm i guess i'll have to call tomorrow

I couldn't see why the real thing wouldn't be fine. That would be pretty ridiculous if it wasn't.

For some reason the way I am understanding what KSU wants is that they want the official GRE scores sent from ETS as well as a copy of the GRE score report in your supplemental packet. At least that is the way I am understanding it. I could be wrong...as has happened before.

Yeah, that's what I did too. But it probably doesn't HAVE to be a photocopy in the packet.

I would include them, as long as everything is set in stone 🙂

I spoke with someone from admissions on Friday - they said the actual GRE scores were fine (i.e., they do not have to be a photocopy).

Ah! I actually asked this question and was told just the ones that, at the time of submission, are completed and were more than 15 hours. (Blast, I'm taking more than 15 right now and plan to next semester too. 🙁 )

Little late on the answer here but in case any of you haven't sent it off yet, I figured I'd throw that out there!

I've taken classes at quite a few schools in an attempt to get my pre-reqs done in a year, which means multiple transcripts. If I wait for the schools to send the individual transcripts, then I'm at risk for missing the Oct 1 deadline.

I'm having the schools send the transcripts directly to K-State rather than to me because time is precious right now. I'm going to send the GRE scores copy and supplemental in a separate packet. I know, pain for them because they won't have everything at one time and more so, I'm not following directions to the "T", but I'm hoping for a little mercy from KSU.

I'm sure it'll be fine, pdjy. Just make sure you call them when you think they're all in and check to make sure everything's been cleared. When I talked to them, they told me they preferred if I sent it all at once just so it was easier to keep together, but if I had to send something separately that was alright too. I was just advised to check and make sure everything had been received for whatever I had to send separately after I believed it had gotten there. 🙂
