Good luck!!! ☺️My interview is in two hours..... So excited!! I'll be anxiously checking my e-mail as soon as it's over lol
Hi guys! So I had my interview on Nov. 9th and it has been radio silence since then! I just got a phone call this morning saying I was accepted for Fall 2021!!!!!! My interviewer (Dr. Charles Wallace) retired sometime after my interview, so I’m guessing that’s why it took so long for them to get back to me!!
on another note, once you are accepted what are the next steps?? I didn’t get an email so I don’t have a portal or anything like that. Any advice is appreciated!

Congrats!! What other school are you waiting to hear back from?accepted for Fall 2021. 🙂 I was given the option for Spring but want a break after completing biochem
still waiting to hear back from one US school and need to interview for another yet. We will see!
I interviewed November 6th and had silence for over two months except some 'happy holidays' emails. For a second I wondered if my interviewer retired or if something happened lol. still, super exciting to take that call and be able to say, 'I got into vet school'.
If anyone is lurking and considering applying but unsure about pre-reqs, I was accepted with 2 pre-reqs remaining (orgo 1 and biochem); I've since passed orgo but they never received that transcript somehow.
Thanks! I just interviewed with Ohio so waiting to hear back from them, and an upcoming interview with Tufts next week 😊Congrats!! What other school are you waiting to hear back from?
Oh that's awesome! Goodluck! Thanks! I just interviewed with Ohio so waiting to hear back from them, and an upcoming interview with Tufts next week 😊
I'm hoping that's the case! I just got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine... so I'm hoping by fall everyone who wants it will be able to get it and then classes will hopefully be in person. wishful thinking!I got waitlisted for my IS option so I'm going to be putting a deposit on my Fall seat 😛
I'm so excited to start this journey. Hopeful that the Fall class will be in person, but is that too hopeful? Do you think school/the island will give more lienceny with travel for people who get the vaccine in the coming months?

Have you considered reaching out to admissions to ask when you should expect to hear back? That seems like a long time to not get any updates.I interviewed in early October and haven’t heard anything so I’m assuming I at least got into the vet prep program. Which would be why they’re taking so long to respond...instead of a denial..hopefully
Yes my interviewer said the end of January or the beginning of February.Have you considered reaching out to admissions to ask when you should expect to hear back? That seems like a long time to not get any updates.
That's good! At least they didn't leave you hanging. Hope you hard good news soon! 🙏Yes my interviewer said the end of January or the beginning of February.
I interviewed oct 13th and haven’t heard anything. I emailed my interviewer a week and a half ago and haven’t gotten a response from her. Starting to get discouraged bc they told me 3-6 weeks.

Glad I’m not the only one 🥲 how long did your interviewer take to respond when you asked for an update? Bc it’s weird to me to not respond for almost 2 weeks now, right?Same day I interviewed 😅
That’s definitely weird. He got back to me in like a day or two.Glad I’m not the only one 🥲 how long did your interviewer take to respond when you asked for an update? Bc it’s weird to me to not respond for almost 2 weeks now, right?
There is a 30 quarantine for your pet just in general when they get to the island so I dont think there is anything else other than the normal hoops to jump through for getting your dog to the island. I've been looking into flights pretty much all day today to find what would work best if the Fall does open up and I was actually really close to buying tickets for me and my spouse, but I'm really glad I didnt... I have a 73lb standard poodle and a 63lb labradoodle. The problem I'm running into is that my poodle is probably going to need to be in a size 500 crate (American Airlines has size recommendations/hard rules on the size crate for your dog based on their measurements) which shouldn't be an issue, but with ESAs not being allowed in cabin he has to fly cargo and the biggest airliner out of the US with American can only accommodate up to a 400 size crate (the size below 500, which my doodle should be able to fit in). Basically, I cant find a way to get my pets to the island without having to pay thousands of dollars doing a private charter. And I won't be going to island without them so I'm stuck until I find another route or just reapply to some more schools next cycle 😒 what a nightmare. I highly suggest looking into travel options and regulations before putting any money down.Is anyone planning on bringing pets with them to the island? (If we are in person in the fall). I’m wondering if Covid as put any more restrictions on pets coming to the island? Getting a little nervous because I definitely need to bring my dog with me
yeah. i'm having similar reservations. 😕 my parents would probably be willing to watch my husky for a couple of years but my heart breaks just considering it. i'd feel horrible flying him as cargo knowing his history with separation anxiety, even with proper meds etc to fly, and having worked on a really sad case that involved a pup flying (even though that's super rare -- but that experience left me with a bit of lingering trauma). during my interview they said 'you can buy your dog a ticket for a seat' and now i'm seeing that's wishful thinking, but i was so eager for it to be true i believed it. so i'm waiting to hear back from the us schools but it's so competitive i don't want to get my hopes up. lots of thinking to do.There is a 30 quarantine for your pet just in general when they get to the island so I dont think there is anything else other than the normal hoops to jump through for getting your dog to the island. The only other school I applied to was my IS which is the combined WIMU program with WSU, Utah only has 20 seats and I got a waitlisted and I have no idea where I'm at on this list (or the amount of ppl on it). This is my second cycle and it's honestly really stressful in general. I felt great about my application this go around and I really cant figure out what to even change for next cycle if that ends up being a thing because of this not being able to get my pups to the island situation. I set up an application review, I just feel a little dejected with how this has played out. Hopeful wishing that maybe I get pulled or find an alternative to get my doggos to the island with me. I hope you end up with what works best for you as well. And pretty much same for everyone else on this forum. We're all here stressed out and dying inside together 😅🥺yeah. i'm having similar reservations. 😕 my parents would probably be willing to watch my husky for a couple of years but my heart breaks just considering it. i'd feel horrible flying him as cargo knowing his history with separation anxiety, even with proper meds etc to fly, and having worked on a really sad case that involved a pup flying (even though that's super rare -- but that experience left me with a bit of lingering trauma). during my interview they said 'you can buy your dog a ticket for a seat' and now i'm seeing that's wishful thinking, but i was so eager for it to be true i believed it. so i'm waiting to hear back from the us schools but it's so competitive i don't want to get my hopes up. lots of thinking to do.
Yeah. I sympathize with that. The struggle is real and it's hard to get motivated for the upcoming semester without knowing where I'm going to school too. I think I should know by late-mid February so I'm just looking forward to knowing for sure. Really hoping everything works out for you! This is technically my second round too. This is really good to know because I have a lab mix who’s 80lbs.... I thought as well that we could just buy a seat for them so it’s really disheartening to hear that we can’t do that. I had friends who went to St George’s with their Dobermans on the plane with them so I’m just wondering the difference and if that’s changed or what? It’s making me pretty nervous to think about because there’s no way I could not take her with me. Admissions made it seem like it was super easy to bring pets along :/There is a 30 quarantine for your pet just in general when they get to the island so I dont think there is anything else other than the normal hoops to jump through for getting your dog to the island. Hey! I'm in the same boat. I have a 75-pound chow/American bulldog and 2 cats so I'm struggling on ways to get them over that's affordable. I read somewhere that animals can only be flighted over at certain times of the year due to cargo temperatures. There is a 30 quarantine for your pet just in general when they get to the island so I dont think there is anything else other than the normal hoops to jump through for getting your dog to the island. It’s so frustrating! I know ESA aren’t allowed in the cabin anymore, but I’m wondering if service dogs are? How does this work with people who have disabilities/needs? Most seeing eye/medical issue dogs are large breeds so I’m wondering how that works.Hey! I'm in the same boat. I interviewed on Dec 23rd and still have not heard anything yet. They said I should hear back end of Jan/beginning of February but I am also extremely nervous.Okay I know I have posted this but my interview was around thanksgiving, but I still haven’t heard anything about acceptance or denial from the school. Is anyone else in this situation? I am getting a little worried. I plan to reach out to them on friday, if anyone has any specific person to contact please let me know.
Service dogs are still allowed just not ESAs. Airlines have deemed them pets so that the only option is cargo for them. It’s so frustrating! My dog is 75 pounds as well. Worried about getting her down there and back 😕
I contacted Ameijet which is basically just a cargo airline. Right now they are not doing live animal shipments, but it sounded like the girl I was talking to said to check back in 2 weeks to see so I'm going to keep checking in and hopefully this is just a covid thing that will cease soon. I'll keep you guys updated since I bet there are going to be quite a few of us in this boat. Currently, I'm going to be saving up for the off chance a private charter is the only option. I'm also going to reach out to my student coordinator people and see if they have any ideas as well.Hey! I'm in the same boat. I was thinking the same thing about a private charter. I wonder if a bunch of us split the cost somehow if we could meet in a neutral area to all fly together how much that would cost us. Congratulations! When you got the call did they call from an unknown number by any chance? I get so many unknown calls every day now and I'm afraid that one of them might be Ross calling. Congratulations on your acceptance to ross!I interviewed 10/30/2020 for fall 2021. I was accepted!!
My interviewer gave me her cell phone number during the interview and told me to save it because either way she would call me when she heard about my admission. But she emailed me first on the day she called and asked what a good time to call me would be so I had a heads up. I had also saved her number just in case she wouldn't have given me that heads up. Thank you! Best of luck. I was actually accepted into my dream in state school, so I will be going there. But best of luck to you!!Congratulations! Sounds good and good luck to you as well. Unfortunately my interviewer did not but he said he would reach out regarding the next steps when he received the decision from the admissions committee.
