Hey everyone - first post here on SDN...
I am trying to choose between Rush and Wayne State in the next 5 days...here are my thoughts:
Wayne
- COA is around $50k/yr
- close to parents (one parent is ill, I grew up in MI but have been working in TX, CA, and IL so I have been out and "seen the world")
- Great clinical and volunteer opportunities (as does Rush)
- Con: traditional curriculum, not many attend lecture
Rush
- COA is around $67k/yr
- love Chicago, girlfriend has a great consulting job here (would likely quit & move after M1 to be with me at Wayne if I go there)
- Pro: block curriculum w/less lecture time, engaged students
I have talked to several residency directors (NW, UMich, UIC) who rate both schools about the same. Ultimately comes down to lower tuition and proximity to sick father against better sense of fit with curriculum and students.
All comments are appreciated
