If it's a wheelchair, I took a ride last night. Still no idea what it does. I vaguely remember a previous game with something like that item, but I don't remember what it did then and can't go searching while at work. Anyone else have a clue?
Was in Asylum but may have been reference to previous game considering mods. Pretty sure protective then.

I'm not a seer, I didn't look into anyone
Yeah I wasn't sure about the MJ lynch until I remembered this back and forth.
Lynch MJ
Well, I am the village seer and I was obviously trying to bring my priority on the kill list down, which would be plain as day to anyone that has any modicum of strategic ability, and didn't defend myself by saying such because it would negate the entire strategy of denying my ability to seer in the first place.
But now that I've got to be all out with it, I seered DocE last night, and he has lynch avoidance. Kcough has no ability. Pippy had no ability at the time I seered her, which fits with what the mods clearly said her ability was at the time I seered her. I haven't bothered role seering anyone because roles don't really reveal much but abilities at least give us something to work with so far as strategy is concerned.
Pippy was clearly defending me because she was trying to earn my trust and throwing the viage seer under the bus would be extremely sketchy, while saving them would buy mad villager cred. Plus I'd already seered her, and trusted her because she came off as legit enough and was vanilla, which I'd never see a chaos or non-convert wolf being even in a game like this.
Good job bussing me as your seer, yet again. Every time I roll seer I get forced to out by the village, try to be subtle, subtle is taken as sketchy because people are poor strategists, so I just reveal everything, and then get either lynched anyways or wolf killed. Every damn time.

Yeah I'm not comfortable with the MJ lynch. a) if he is a wolf seer, working with pippy like that is a dumb-arse move, and b) saying he's lying is dumb-arse move #2.

Why would working with Pippy be a dumb move? Wolves don't know who chaos players are.
I said I was lying about being a seer so the wolves would hopefully pull me off the target list, a strategy that only works so long as the village is smart enough to realize what is going on and the wolves are dumb enough to miss it. It's a long shot strategy, but it's enough to buy a couple of nights sometimes.
My ability doesn't seem to give me specifics- like, it told me Pippy was vanilla, but not that she'd eventually gain more powers, and it told me DocE has lynch avoidance but not how many times and under what circumstances. I doubt seering Kam would yield anything useful, but I could try it tonight.

STL said to not put any stock in roles or abilities and to go based off analytics (I'm paraphrasing here) so I'm guessing basically everyone is sketch ball from ability and/or role so we can't rely on that to clear people. As far as I'm concerned, even if MJ is village, it's not much use other than identifying power roles... which would be more useful for the wolves.
Just like not seering Kam that night was idiocy. If you weren't outed, sure, I don't seer a target like that because I'm not gonna out myself to defend if village and they are gonna get lynched again as scum anyway. But everyone is not gonna just magically forget you claimed seer nor let you just rest on coat tails of the claim that is in no way a slam bang village role.

am jumped quickly on that mj lynch to push him to role reveal. also don't like her position on the kam lynch yesterday and her D1 vote for haxx was for a dumb reason and she never switched which seems unusual for her.

Trilt's raising major red flags for me.
Also, depending on the experience level of the wolves, they might skip MJ for a few nights and assume whoever the protector is is protecting MJ. That's what I would do as a wolf. Especially in this type of game.

I'm going to lynch DocE again because of his post about not caring about mayor vote. He always cares about that and tries to push people into mayordom that don't want it. So it was a very off comment by him.

I would be okay with holding one day on MJ...if he's wolf seer (or if we have multiple village seers), villager seer can check him overnight and speak up tomorrow if he comes back red. If he's the only village seer or if he checks out as village, we don't hear anything and don't needlessly lynch him.

What's the actual value in having a seer if abilities or role names mean nothing as far as affiliation anyway?
Let's consider my game role's ability as protector and the fact that I don't think I've ever actually been a protector and put some pieces together about whether I'm being myself.

Sorry I'll probably be away from the remainder of today's lynch cycle as well. Lack of sleep, general unwellness, and tomorrow I'll be helping hubby to tackle a bathroom paint renovation (complete with funky looking protective suits, and respirators, because lead paint - ugh, I have a feeling this is going to take us ages!). I'll try and get on before lynch end if I can, no promises though.

So despite the role of MJ coming up as chaos people still are agreeing with STL saying roles will have nothing to do with affiliation? I don't believe that RNG for 1 second. I can also 100% see Pip going along with the role claim for sh*ts and giggles, though the more careful approach for early game would have been to not obviously put in an unverifiable vouch.

I'm willing to give MJ some time to either get wolf killed or maybe looked into. If he doesn't die in a few days, we should definitely revisit him. Trilt was giving me feels yesterday and looks like others are feeling it today too, so I feel ok sticking with that lynch.

I targeted people I could talk to in my group followed by DocE because he was giving me the feels. As to your second point, do I have to spell things out for you even more? It should be obvious that my point is to create a sense of doubt in the wolves so that there's a chance, however small, that they pick another target, because some chance is better than no chance. Normally I'd have implied I've got a blocker protecting me, but now that I've been forced to make it painfully obvious that I have no cards and I'm just trying to create doubt, that wouldn't work, and I'm basically a sitting duck. You shouldn't railroad other villagers like this Trilt, it destroys any chance they have of keeping a strategy from the wolves.

Plus side is that pip's ability implied multiple rezzes, so if you're actually village, hey, you'll back sooner than later i imagine.

This is both my own personal play style as well as that of my role.
I think it's worth giving MJ more time, too, because if he really is our seer, we're only helping the wolves by lynching him. I feel like Trilt is going pretty hard at him but if her role is who I'd guess her to be, it makes sense. I'm going to head back to my gut reaction and lynch nohika; I haven't seen many rezzes come back as helpful to the village.

I am in agreement that a player can be oh-so-wrong, in the name of ignorance and inexperience. The problem is that coming across so abrasively makes it burn oh-so-bad. I've seen this play itself out in any number of werewolf games I've been apart of or helped invent (ethereally through my vastness). The temptation to mete out consequences in the face of poor logic and twisted thinking is often severe and swift. I, too, was even drawn to cast a judgment in the direction of Trilt leading to her demise. I won't. I can't. Not now, anyway:

The last game I was rezzed in I was a villager, and got lynched because my rez was suspicious (and was still a villager).
On the bright side, claps to you for being the first one to call me sketchy!! I've been waiting for that.

Sure, it happens. Just like lynch avoidance can be (and has been) a villager ability. I've been a villager with a sketchy-sounding ability in the past- it sucks because it's tough to defend yourself against the hive-mind. But I don't want to lynch MJ or Trilt right now and I haven't got much in the way of thoughts on anyone else but you at the moment.
I play just fine. You play without any subtlety, which isn't really how this game is played anywhere else I've done it. You don't scream what you're doing in-thread or to the group because it increases the wolves' information advantage, and if you're a villager you don't push someone that has a good chance of being a villager because it can toss them into the wolves' crosshairs. I disagree. I've only seen rezzes help village. I know I haven't played too many games ( 6 months or so) but I've never seen it hurt village.

I think we can all chime in and share our experiences, but there have been many games where rezzed players are either wolfy or chaos. I don't know the exact numbers of course, but it's enough for me to consider the lynch. Happy to consider other options but as I said, not feeling the MJ or Trilt lynch right now.

Rezzes have hurt the village before, but it's says more about the rezzer than the rezzed. I agree though and don't think nohika should be lynched on that principle alone.

Used to be that the majority of rezzes came back as village. Now that has changed some. But I'd probably not lynch someone only because they were rezzed....seems a bit like a scapegoat to me instead of actually looking for original wolves.

I would like to stress to you that the mod openly taunted us for trying to run for mayor and i referenced how it sounded so very similar to a mayor election that you dont want to win. I like power, i dont like booby traps.
Still not sure who to vote for just because MJ seems like he could be a wolf seer snd normally id say "oh my god im sure any actual seer has checked him by now" but... no... youre all silly heads who probably havent gotten around to it yet! So funny of you! But im sure you will soon enough! Or the wolves will. But, honestly, i do think his unreliability of his power seems a tiny bit off. Maybe we should just go there.
