Alright my fellow SLU waitlisters, since many of us are having difficulty gaining any gauge of how big the waitlist is or where we stand on that list, I thought it might be interesting if we could create a thread that had a semi-breakdown of SDNers on this waitlist. I was thinking that we could list our names followed by interview date, then followed by our stats (cummulative GPA / science GPA / mcat score). If some of you guys aren't cool with sharing stats, just add your name and interview date. Then at the end of the list, I will leave a space for us to add our names if we make it off the list (add date accepted in brackets). I guess I'll go first:

I didn't think they would call me collect. I guess they have been trying to call me for awhile, but I'm not to fond of accepting collect calls. Who would think that a big University would call collect?? But it was worth it.

I have to believe that more people have heard from SLU... I heard that they accepted 60+ people off the waitlist last year..Anyone hear recently??

Hmmmm...sorry folks, no news yet.

I know that they finished interviewing around the middle of June, orientation begins August 5th, and classes begin August 12th. We have until classes start to hear something. That's in about a month and a half. After all we've been through this year, that's not too long...Stay hopeful guys!!

I talked to Dr. Wilmore on the phone the other day and he said that last friday, five people were accepted off of the waitlist.

I just saw on another waitlist thread that Amma got pulled off the waitlist at SLU last Friday, so I'm adding her to our accepted list. Congrats!!!! If you see this Amma, could you maybe give us some advice on what you did to get off the waitlist (ie writing letters of intent or calling the admissions office). Again Amma great job and best of luck next year.

Also thanks Adi for the heads up about the acceptances last Friday. I guess there still is hope guys.

Just throwing some info on SLU out. I talked with the secretary for the Departments of Neurology and Pharmacological on July 12th and was informed that Dean Willmore will be out till July 22nd. I'm guessing that the waitlist won't be moving with week.

Hi guys, I just got back from vacation....
I dont think I did anything to amazing regarding getting off the waitlist. I called a few times, sent two update letters, an additional letter of rec, and sent my updated transcripts (however, I dont think they received them by the time i receved the acceptance call).
I'm sure, though, that there will still be lots of movement at many schools, because hey-i just got pulled of SLU last friday, then released my other acceptance, etc....

bummer oh well, I'm not too upset because I found out today that I'm near the top of the list at my state school and have a decent (though not guarenteed) chance of getting in. if I get accepted to SLU and my state school, or SLU and USC or OHSU, I will withdraw from SLU immediately.

First of all, congrats to annabanana for getting into Arizona!!!

Just wondering...it seems that SLU has been giving out acceptances only on Fridays. Anyone heard otherwise? The admissions office isn't telling me anything.

If that's the case, I'll sit tight till 3pm today...

congrats Adi!! SLU was my first acceptance (also off the WL in July) last year. I ended up declining for Tufts (also a WL acceptance) but SLU is an awesome school and STL seems like a cool city. You must feel great; now go out and celebrate!!

So is SLU your first choice?? Or are you still waiting from other schools?? Other acceptances?? I have to admit though, St. Louis IS beautiful, and I can only hope and pray that I get there!!

Thank's y'all,
I really didn't have a first choice between SLU and NYMC, they both have their positive and negative points. I will go to SLU though since they accepted me first. I had already resigned to the possibility of not getting in this year and right when I stopped anxiously checking my mail and listening for my phone, it came. That means there is still hope. When I talked to Dr. Willmore a few weeks ago, he said don't lose hope because the process is a very dynamic one and anything can happen at any moment. I don't know if this made a difference, but the day before I called them and asked, if based on what they know, could they tell me how realistic my chances are (since they know my rank and I don't) I said I needed to decide whether or not to submit a new amcas, they refused but she said she would put a note in my file that I called.
Good luck to you all, I know exactly how you feel, I didn't even tell me parents till the letter came cause I thought it was a dream or some evil joke. In the meantime, go see the new austin powers, I thought it wa funny as hell.
