Don't stress about the archiving thing, I was freaking out about it too but I called the College Board and the person I spoke with was very reassuring that they would be in on time. Just make sure you follow the instructions for having your scores sent in expedited.

Do the SAT scores have to be sent from the college board office? Would a copy of the SAT I have suffice?

All they ask for is a copy of the SAT report. I didn't even print out a copy, I just took a screen print/capture of the page and sent them that, and they were perfectly content with it.

Most likely they haven't met their app quota yet. Temple invest a lot of time and money in its ACMS students, as such, they like to go through all applications as thoroughly as possible.
 
I just got a phone call from Grace Hershman and she said that from my interview day (May 17th) 13 of the interviewees were accepted which is about half of the class (25 students). I believe there was about 20 of us there that day. The second interview day is tomorrow but I'm not sure about a third.

Well that's a bit discouraging...does that essentially mean anyone interviewing in July is basically interviewing for a waitlist spot? (assuming they even do a waitlist)

🙁 I sent in my application after June interviews had already been offered. I doubt they have a waitlist. Maybe they will just try to fill remaining spots if for whatever reason a couple of people they've accepted in May/June do not commit.

I don't know about a waitlist, but last year I interviewed in July. There were about 12 to 15 people at that interview day, and at least 5 of us ended up in the program. There may have been more, but I don't remember who was at my interview day anymore.

I sent in my app at the start of May which is pretty late, but unfortunately found out over memorial day weekend one of my recommenders hadn't yet sent out his letter 😱 Much panic later it managed to make it into their office by June 1st, but that was so late in the game I'm not gonna hold my breath...

does anyone know approx when invites for 3rd round of interviews will be going out?
 
when i submitted my application, i got an email that said they would email me within 7 business days with a list of what they have received on my behalf.

everything should have been received by june 1st since i thought that was the deadline. i did submit my application late though, on may 31st.


its been past 7 days, did anyone have to wait longer than 7 days?

Do not despair, but rather think positively! There will be another set of interviews around mid July.

I think everyone had this problem -- there's been no e-mail communication at all. I even sent a few follow-up e-mails, and it's been total radio silence. Someone suggested calling to make sure things are there, but I haven't done so. /shrug

Dunno, I applied to this program very early. Been silent since. No emails, and every time I called they told me that they had a record number of applications and they wouldn't tell me what the status of my application was, not even whether or not all the materials had been received. GPA/MCAT scores good, SAT not so much. I stopped calling in March - since then I have been accepted to Drexel IMS. 😛

My experience with calling wasn't positive, but it can't hurt to try calling every 2 days.
 
Well I got my rejection letter today, but hopefully that means the July interview invites are getting sent out. Good luck to everyone still in the running!

snailmail? was this a pre-interview rejection? or were you part of the june interview group? do you mind sharing your basic stats?

My advisor said not to risk retaking it, though it burns to score 5 points less than my high-water mark.

My EC's are decent (shadowing, hospital volunteering, 4 years on an EMS squad, employment as a phlebotomist), as are my LORs.

Honestly I wasn't really expecting to get in, but I'm glad that I didn't have to go through the stress of interviewing there before finding out. Drexel IMS, full steam ahead!
 
has anybody heard from temple about the July interview?
 
somebody mentioned that 12 students got accepted in may. Any news of acceptances in June.

When I spoke with Grace a few days ago, She mentioned that about 10 people were accepted from the June Interview day. She said that there was going to be another interview date in July in which they would accept a few students as well incase some people didn't respond to their letters.

GOD Damn... How can u get rejected with those kind of scores? Did you apply late? do you think you made a mistake on your application? with your score I dont think you need SMP at all..

... should still have gotten an interview with those stats. Instead of being there to help the low GPA applicant, is ACMS essentially just taking applicants who are good enough to get into med school straight off the bat and and snagging them into its own med school with its binding contract?
 
Has anyone been invited to interview in July? I heard that interviews will be on July 19. I have not received a rejection or heard anything since my application was complete at the end of May.
 
Does anyone know what the class size is for the program? It looks like 22 people have already been accepted. If they all accept, are there still more spots left?
 
I truly truly truly cannot believe how screwed up applying to this program is. I was complete in early April and still not a word from the adcom. I've called six or seven times the past few months and still not a word. Has anyone else encountered this?


And if so how did you convince the receptionists to actually help you out?

did the same...nothing to do but wait. I would expect them to process all the apps and send invites out within the next two weeks, so I think we'll all hear back by then. I don't think they'd just send invites w/o finishing the rest of the apps.
 
I really hope not. If that ends up being the case I'll be extremely disappointed (and cheated out of hard earned money).
 
Well June is pretty much winding down, I don't know how much longer they expect us to wait...

they're already narrowing down the pool with preinterview rejections.
hopefully we'll hear something before july 4th weekend. it's more likely we won't hear until july 9th, giving about a week inbetween notification and actual interview date

Emory University graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 and science GPA of 3.6 (neuroscience and behavioral biology major). I scored a 30S on the MCAT. Extensive volunteering and shadowing experience. Orientation is the week of August 2nd, classes start on the 9th.

That's for the med school class. I don't know the ACMS date but last year it was nearly a full month later.

You'll hear back quickly, probably within a week or so.
 
Do they release the average GPA/MCAT because from what people are saying - it's as high as their actual med school?

if i recall correctly, there is a pdf brochure on the website, however those numbers would be extremely inaccurate if what people are saying is true

I just checked last year's thread. For a july 6 interview, invites were sent 5 days before. So if this year's date is july 19, then the 14th would be the day i suppose. That's more than a week from now...gosh
 
They told us that our orientation is on the first day of our classes which is Aug 30th
 
Would 3.5/33 be competitive at this program?
 
Well I'm from PA - commonwealth really the only one that significantly caters to PA residents. I am applying now - if I don't get in, I'll be applying to this program, so I am wondering.

People earlier were getting rejected with a 3.3/36...so I am not sure how competitive a mere 33 is, especially since my GPA is below the Temple median of 3.63 or so.
 
Can someone please tell me if they send out rejection/invites letters via email or US mail? I haven't received a response either and called in today for the third time - the secretary said they are still trying to close up and make decisions.

That is certainly competitive. There's obviously no guarantee but you should definitely apply.
