I know. People should be a little bit more careful not to hurt other people's feelings.

Gloat about it at home with your friends, but avoid the obnoxiously loud conversations during class to make sure everyone hears you.


Hopefully by 4:30 (Immunology) people have already got some of the excitement out of their systems and they are quieter. It's the only science class I have tomorrow, thank goodness.
 
Dumb question, but what is the % of matched to non-matched in TX? I wonder how the numbers might have changes with the early offers.

and hopefully he'll give us our freakin tests back!

have you gotten called on yet? I sit near the back, so I don't know if he'll ever call on me.

fortunately for me my other courses are graduate level, and not many grad students are applying to med school.
 
For people that don't match is it kosher/expected to call the schools tomorrow about waitlists, or are we expected to wait for a letter, email, etc..? Also is it beneficial to send in another letter or something if waitlisted?

I know! I want my test back, too!

I haven't gotten called on during Immunology, but he called on me during Histology on Monday. I swear he was asking me questions for about 45 minutes...😱 Sometimes people will get lucky and he will only ask them a couple of questions and then forget about it because he goes on and on about something in the chapter. But not me, I got drilled.

You can definitely call the schools about waitlists. Depending on the school, the waitlists might not be ready immediately though... think it took UTSW a couple weeks to prepare its list last year. Just know that you can inquire about them instead of waiting around for a letter.

heh, last year instead of "match results," TMDSAS posted on its website that "MCAT results" will be posted at midnight. Not exactly a big screw-up, but it was pretty funny to read.

The website was surprisingly stable last year. And come to think of it, we managed not to crash SDN either unlike the previous year.

I called UTH last year, and if I remember correctly, they would not accept any additional info. either by email or by letter.
 
man i remember last year. it sucked watching everyone else elated about getting in. i just hope i don't have to experience that again.
 
I'm sooooo mad at my self...this whole process would be way less stressful if I only would have used Jedi mind tricks on my interviewers...Adcomm you are my father....

Ummm....continue drinking after calling all of my family. This goes for if I don't match either.

win or lose we still booze.

Just got home from work. Luckily in enough time to enjoy the rest of V-day with the wif and say a prayer before the big match. 😎

I'm baking cookies right now in a last minute attempt to please the TMDSAS gods so that we may all enter our first choice schools 🙂 They're double chocolate chip!

I am heading to Texas Tech this year. I loved it there. By the way DVN, I have been following your posts and am rooting for you to get into UTH :luck:

Dr. H is awesome. Quite possibly the greatest prof ever, even though he is never timely in passing back tests. My favorites were when he serenaded the class and the random/friggin' amazing stories about his lifelong medical practice. I was an unfortunate 45+ min'er too.

I am planning on working, so I can try to pay off my debt from grad school😱

Yeah its great. In both classes too. The last time in Histo it was a rhyme about a haggard sailor woman with a goiter used as a segue into the endo talk and thyroid diseases.
 
holy crap, only an hour left.

this waiting makes it so hard to study. my oral cavity histo is going soooooooooo slowly. who cares about filiform, fungiform, and circumvallate papillae when this huge decision is being made an hour away?!?!
 
listen to fun and calming music to pass the time.
I'm listening to California (OC) theme. Not that I want to be in california, it's because it sums up my journey to med school if I get there. TEXAS is the best. Also "Old Habits Die Hard" by Mick Jagger is great too.

hmm. we haven't had any such luck with songs or stories from his medical career.

is this something he needs to be asked to do or will he get to it by himself?
