*~*~*TMDSAS 2018*~*~*

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For the people who got acceptances today, relish in the victory and be glad that your hard work has paid off. Celebrate and enjoy this day. Know that there are many qualified people who did not get the acceptance that would give anything to be in your shoes. For myself, I suppose I'll be back in January to see if my labor is rewarded. Peace.

got waitlisted on Nova's never ending waitlist and seemingly rejected from LECOM. Houston interview on the 12th is my only hope. We'll see what happens!

Do Texas schools send out rejection letters? Or do we just assume rejection if we don't get an acceptance email in the next upcoming months?

wow wtf, and u have really good stats, if i remember correctly!

great stats sure, most would say great communication skills also but sometimes life doesnt go the way you plan. Just gotta make the best of every situation

lol yea i also got waitlisted from nova. iono how the heck they choose people if their interview is so chill and whatever....

Are you going to be part of class 2022?
Not yet! but soon I hope. I applied to all 3, but only got an interview to SA so far scheduled for Monday. I live here so I need this!

Good luck man! Stay confident and you will get it!
Yes, for sure! I'm just so impatient. I wonder when I'll be notified if I'm selected. I dont think I could wait months to hear of a rejection....This is where you are going then?

Yea, I interviewed at A&M and SA. Only got into SA for now though. Stay impatient that is

Yea, I'm from Houston originally. But I rather live in SA for the next 4 years cause I lived in Dallas the past 4 years finishing my undergrad. Good Luck on your interview on Monday! Remeber stay confident and go get it!

Congrats to everyone who got in!! Such an exciting time for all of you : )

As for the people who are having to wait a little longer, does anyone know when the next round starts?

anyone know odds of getting in with post dec interview at houston?

Are interviews still being offered by any TMDSAS school? All this talk of prematch and acceptances has me nervous!

Weird—I got accepted into Nova and got ZERO Texas MD IIs, nor have I gotten a TCOM II. Keep your head up—Houston is by far the best school you listed. I think behind everyone's celebratory chatter is an undercurrent of anxiety about who didn’t pick us. I think as our paths in life are concerned, what really matters is getting at least one shot. And you have it!

Question for everyone here. I was accept to Houston but am still waiting to hear back from other schools. The email says they require a response by January 1st. Is accepting their offer an agreement to matriculate? Or can I hold multiple acceptances and cancel them later?

A little encouragement for those not receiving a Dec. 1st acceptance. Last year I interviewed in mid Jan. and was accepted early Feb., so there is still hope! Stay positive and be patient, you will get there.

Hey Guys, I interviewed at SA on November 13, has anybody that interviewed that date heard back from them also have they stopped sending acceptances for today?
I interviewed on November 20th and got an acceptance email yesterday.

For people asking about rejections, I didn't get any interviews last year, so I'm quite experienced with them. They will send you an email. I got mine from all three schools between January 20th and February 2nd. Of course, that's without interviewing, so it could be later if you did interview. Good luck and don't give up! If you don't get in this year, make sure you're improving all the weak aspects of your application. I think my persistence and better stats are what got me interviews/acceptances this year.

It's great to see the happiness of people got accepted spread out the forum. I do not know if anyone is in my situation but i am really appreciated for any advice for my dilemma now. Yesterday I was fortunate to get acceptance to my top choice school. But the thing is I got interview invite for the post-december interview couple weeks ago and I already confirmed it (since I do not know whether I wil get accepted or not on December 1st). I know that I will go to my top-choice school and do not want to spend time and money to travel for the interview. What should i do? just simply do not show up or send them an email to withdraw the invite? What should I say in the email then?

Thanks for any advices

DO NOT just not show. Send them an email and tell them you’re no longer interested in interviewing.

You could wait until the last day to accept the offer to see if you get a response from the other school, or you could accept the offer now and pay the deposit. If you get In the other school and want to go there instead, you can withdraw your acceptance but don’t get your deposit returned.

Accepted Texas A&M!
Accepted Texas A&M!

TAMU came through!!!

Woohoooo A&M! Where's that fb page?!!!

A&M accepted!!!! IT WAS IN MY SPAM FML

A&M acceptance!!!! So pumped!!!!!

QTNA I want a Facebook page, groupme, and instagram made ASAP. lol

Welcome to the A&M family!

For TAMU, do I just reply to the acceptance email to confirm my acceptance of their offer? Is there no deposit etc? Also does anyone know if by the January 5th deadline you have to commit to one school (still considering Houston, so just wondering)? Thanks!

EDIT: Like is it normal for students to accept offers for both if they are still deciding on a school, or does accepting an offer mean you commit to the school?

You are able to commit to both but would lose your deposit and withhold other applicants from being accepted during the following rounds. Once your spot opens, they will offer it to someone else. I think it would be common courtesy to decline one if you are leaning towards one school in particular.

Ok thanks for the info! I definitely plan on dropping my seats when I know for sure which one I will pick 🙂

How is everyone celebrating? I still don't know what to do with myself, just keep reading the acceptance email to make sure I'm not dreaming!
Is there nothing that we need to do until we get the physical mail? Any logging into portals or whatever? I guess I should fill out my fafsa

There’s a link in the schools page for accepted students. Info about Financial aid, immunizations, background check and all that. I’m sure they’ll send you more info to come! Congrats again!!!

Anyone accepted and attending UT Health SA, we have a groupme chat! Message me your numbers so I can add you!!

Congrats to all those who got accepted! Was anyone awarded a scholarship for UTHSCSA? If so was the scholarship info sent as an email?

Pretty disappointed to not get in to my dream school A&M. I guess the lesson here is that the application process is definitely holistic and numbers don't guarantee anything. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I have several classmates who weren't accepted until April/May time.

You haven't been rejected, the acceptance cycle is just beginning and there will be a lot of movement and more acceptances. I wouldn't give up hope on A&M yet.

Thanks for the words of encouragement!
I'm not giving up hope on being accepted, but I feel like whatever precluded me from getting accepted in this round of acceptances isn't going to change for the next rounds.
