I asked Obed earlier, he stated Mid August. They are working out the details at this point

Anybody interview w/ me on Jan 8? Have you heard anything yet?
oooo thats good to know, cuz i definitely expected it to be like last year and thought school didnt start til 1st week of september...now i need to plan my summer accordingly. Thanks Lee!!!
Hey guys, I'm new on here. I just got an email that TOUROCOM received my supplemental application. My LORs from the pre-med committee at my school still are not in yet (the lady who sends them was out of the office all week 🙁). But the email seemed to suggest that upon receiving the LORs, I will be contacted about an interview. Does anyone know if everyone who turns in a supplemental app definitely gets an interview?
I know I'm a little late in the process, but cross your fingers for me! 🙂
How much in loans did the first years this year have to take out? Including living, that is... At the interview, they didn't mention the total cost of everything
For those of you accepted and going to Touro-NY I am curious as to when you guys are planning on moving up there. I currently work for princeton review and make some descent cash with them. I was thinking of going up a month or two earliar and enjoying the NYC life before Med School starts. I would get transferred by princeton review to an office up there so I would have some income coming in to pay for rent and food.
Any of you guys thinking of going up a month or so earlier to enjoy NYC???
I am not moving to NY because I already live here, but I would really recommend that you move up here a month or even more prior to the start of the semester. This will allow you to get to know your new city, and believe me there is a lot to see in NY. Once classes start, you won't have much time to explore...so I would say you should definitely take this opportunity now if you can! You can PM me if you want to find out more about NYC life...🙂
Have I lost my mind or is there no thread for touro-ny class of 2012?? I can't seem to find it anywhere! 😕
Yes, I also don't know how. Can someone please start it???
Is it too late to apply? I haven't sent anything yet and I don't have a LOR from a DO. 3.4 UG GPA from William & Mary, 3.1 GPA from Columbia University in Master's in Pharmacology, MCAT 26R. NY resident living in Manhattan.
am i competitive enough to get in at this point? can I still apply for fall 08 or should I wait to apply for fall 09?

Is this a joke, or are you serious?
It sounds like a joke....
Anyone?
Uh WTF? why would you think this is a joke? I just joined this thread because I just learned about osteopathic medicine 3 months ago when I found out my doctor was a D.O. Excuse my ignorance but I didn't realize it was the same thing as an MD until recently after researching it for the past 2 months. Now that I realize there are no significant differences that would keep me from applying, I realize that the application process is winding down and am still wondering if its worth it to apply to NY Touro this late in the game. Its a legitimate question and I'm really offended by your insinuation to the contrary. To anyone else who actually has sympathy to my plight and even the slightest decency and compassion, thank you in advance for your responses....
I know this has been brought up a few times, but is a secondary application a guarantee for an interview (I've seen some conflicting answers)?
Also, for those that sent a secondary, how did you go about the personal statement? Did you use anything from your AACOMAS statement?
Thanks in advance.

i think this late in the game, all bets are off. i wouldn't count on anything.
From what i know, false. If you get a secondary you have always been able to, and still should expect an interview once you complete that and send it in. My guess is that they're probably sending out less than in October and November, though.
even so, if you're interviewing let's say april, you're probably interviewing for a waitlist spot. maybe I'm wrong.
not to change the subject, but has anyone on the waitlist heard anything yet? bond?
By April, I think the likelihood of acceptance is heavily outweighed by the likelihood of waitlist. You can call this "interviewing for a waitlist spot" but that's really innaccurate so long as there are spots open in the class. Truly "interviewing for a waitlist spot" would be them telling you on interview day "Our class is currently full, so do your best to get as high on the waitlist as possible." The chances you'll be told this are slim, even if it were true.
Point taken, I know of some schools that were full in Feb and they are contiuning to interview candidates. They don't tell them they are interviewing for a spot on the waitlist either.
Hi everyone... I have a few quick questions for people that interviewed at touro -new york... first, which airport should I fly into?? and which hotel did you guys think was best as far as cheap rate and closeness to the school? and lastly, did you guys rent a car or just use taxi's and/or public transportation to get to the interview and back to the airport after the interview was complete...Thanks alot!!
I landed at 7:15am and hightailed it to the interview....
I flew into JFK...and much to my chagrin PASSED Laguardia in the taxi on the way to the interview.
So um. Yeah. Not JFK.
I relied on taxi's, the same way I always do when I'm in NYC. That and the subway. There is a flat fee from laGuardia to the school, and I don't recall what it was, but I remember thinking it wasn't that bad . My hotel (the raddison martinique on 32nd and broadway) called me a car to get back to the airport, which was like 50.00 and awesome.
What schools have you heard were already full in Feb.?! Just curious cause from what I've seen on here and heard from my friends, plenty of schools (D.O. and M.D.) are sending out interview invites for March right now.
