What I meant to say was that my hopes, interests, MCAT score, GPA, personal experiences, ECs, Community service, and research will make me more likely to get accepted into DO schools and also succeed as a DO. A DO's holistic approach to medicine and additional osteopathic manipulative techniques provide advantages MD schools do not have. I totally understand that Osteopathy medical education is NOT something to underestimate. It is a profession that is selective and has strict ethical roles and high expectations. Becoming a DO physician is as rigorous as becoming an MD physician. I know what I am getting into and have weighed everything about the realities of pursuing the DO path. I still want to do it and go all the way. The sky is the limit.
Besides, my MCAT score is a big drag for getting into allelopathy schools (average MCAT is 31-32 with 10s and 9s being deemed as minimally competitive). I have a 26 (10-8-8). 8 in BS for MD schools really puts me out of reach (according to MSAR)
