Hey everyone! The director of admissions for VMCVM commented on a facebook post earlier from the pre-vet group. This is per Shelby Stegall:
“Hi All, Director of Admissions at VMCVM! With the increase in application numbers this year interview decisions will probably be sent a little later than normal, we are hoping for sometime next week!”

Has VA-MD posted the breakdown of IS/OOS applicants for this year?
I can’t find anything for this year, but last year it was 87 IS and 41 OOS

Does anyone who was at the open house remember how many IS/OOS interview seats there are?
tbh i don’t know if they really ever release exact number breakdowns on that. They accepted 500 for interviews last year. 🙂
if i remember correctly, i think they didn't post the breakdown of any stats for my class until we were here for a little bit. They did tell us at an info session the numbers from MD/VA/OOS that they invited for interviews though, so keep an eye out for information sessions 🙂 They were helpful as well

So it says notification of interview invitations are to go out in early to mid December... Getting a little anxious as it could be any day now.

I’m so scared. I’m IS so VMCVM is my best and most preferred shot. I know I will be ok if I have to take a gap year, but I don’t want to deal with the stress of it all. I thought I was zen about it a month ago but now that it’s so close I am NOT lol. Hope everyone else isn’t fretting too much
I’m also freaking out, my stomach has been doing somersaults all weekend. As a third cycle applicant, this is my last chance. The thought of possibly having to choose another career after all the years of hard work is terrifying 😭
I continually feel like that GIF of the owl where the person says something like, “oh, she’s so calm!!!” And then the owl turns around and her pupils are saucers. That’s me.

A note for first time applicants (what I wish I had heard): Regardless of the outcome you did your best and I'm proud of you. This is literally so hard mentally and academically. If you don't get it, the interview/application reviews are so helpful and while I still feel like I'm going to vomit, it's not nearly as bad as last year. Whether it takes you 1 try or 7, you'll get there if you don't give up. There is no "correct" timeline for these kind of things. Take a deep breath, what happens happens.
