Set schedule + electives. WSU is, imo, pretty heavy on large animal material, including electives. We had Spanish, research, and colic team as first semester elective choices. What is the schedule like for WSU? Do you get to take electives the first year or is it a set schedule for everyone?
Is anyone here in vet school while also serving their U.S. Army Reserve commitment? If yes, what is it like and what advice would do you have for keeping up with material while going to drill?
Spanish elective? Was it learning General spanish or just medical terms?Set schedule + electives. WSU is, imo, pretty heavy on large animal material, including electives. We had Spanish, research, and colic team as first semester elective choices.
It is meant to be medically focused. They divide the class between beginners and advanced. I didnt take it so unfortunately can't give you more specifics :/Spanish elective? Was it learning General spanish or just medical terms?

It is more focused on communicating medically to clients about the patient. You use the book Spanish for veterinarians. If you have never taken spanish before its definitely has challenges but is still 100% doable. I really enjoyed it. It gave me a different part of my brain to use and not be in science mode all the time and keep up on my spanish. I took it so if you have further questions please ask!Spanish elective? Was it learning General spanish or just medical terms?
Call and ask! They definitely don't change how they look at you because they know other interviews are around then, things happen etcOkay, At the risk of sounding absolutely insane, do you think they look any different at you if you request a different date to interview. I am so freaked out I don't think my brain is working but I know I have class and some other things going on that day??
where did you see the invite?
Scroll down to the bottomWhere on the portal does it indicate an interview invite or denial? I don't see either one on mine.
All i see is a message from October saying “application complete”. For those invited is there a message indicating an invite?Scroll down to the bottom
thank you haha I felt like I knew that but in freaking out I wanted to make sure I was overthinking it in my head!Call and ask! They definitely don't change how they look at you because they know other interviews are around then, things happen etc

Interview! OOS told 3:18 pm (not sure the time zone but probably 6:18 EST). No emails yet - I just checked my portal after seeing other people‘s posts
Yes I have one there about interview notificationAll i see is a message from October saying “application complete”. For those invited is there a message indicating an invite?
You can pay $70 for a round trip ticket on the Wheatland Express. Also Amtrak has a bus line that goes to Spokane airport as well.I am having a heckuva time figuring out transport. It looks like my cheapest option is still going to be 350+ car rentals and such. Flying into Spokane and driving from there
Unfortunately 200$ more expensive! Also remember that Pullman has an airport, too!
Not working with the flight times, unfortunately! It only goes once per dayYou can pay $70 for a round trip ticket on the Wheatland Express. Also Amtrak has a bus line that goes to Spokane airport as well.
I’m going to have to drive - looks like I’m flying in Thursday night and leaving very early sat. Anyone want to carpool with a random stranger? I promise I’m not a serial killerI am having a heckuva time figuring out transport. It looks like my cheapest option is still going to be 350+ car rentals and such. What about Amtrak? The bus service is Northwest Trailways. It has a later depart time. Not working with the flight times, unfortunately! It only goes once per day
I’m only seeing one that day and it’s definitely not late enough. Or early enough for my departure Saturday because I have to get to the airport for 6 AM. I could theoretically go up Friday night and stay locally at a hotel there but the Thursday departure is not working at all. The only option is like 5:15 PM and my flight doesn’t even get in till nineWhat about Amtrak? The bus service is Northwest Trailways. It has a later depart time.
Me!OOS AZ interview invite! Is anyone interviewing on Thursday Jan 30th?
Were you hoping for a weekend date? WSU does all interviews during the week if that’s what you were hoping to change 🙂 OOS interviews are all during the same week so they may be willing to change to another day during that time if there is an opening, but not a different week or a weekend.Okay, At the risk of sounding absolutely insane, do you think they look any different at you if you request a different date to interview. Also Lewiston, ID has an airport it's closer but you would have to rent a car but idk ticket pricesI’m only seeing one that day and it’s definitely not late enough. Yep. Too bad! Hopefully someone Monday chimes inI would be interested in carpooling though my interview is on Monday and I'm guessing yours is on Friday?
Wondering the sameSo if I didn't get an email for OOS interviews should I assume I was rejected??
Wondering the same
It looks like they were sent out over an almost 2 week period last year....Same I checked the portal too. I'm hoping that the emails get sent out in waves.
ughhhh nooo. This is gonna be a stressful 2 weeks (or longer 🙁)It looks like they were sent out over an almost 2 week period last year....
Apparently they might be sending out more over the next week or two. Someone posted that earlierSo no email and nothing on portal=rejection?
