i'm giving up hope on Baylor. I had that status change to "app reviewed" for over two months now. I'm considering myself rejected.
 
FINALLy my status changed to 'has been reviewed'... how long has it taken for other people to get an invite after getting that message?

^ ^ ^ 2 months. It could take longer...or it could be sooner. No one really knows. 😛
 
Mine says:

"Your application has already been reviewed and is currently being processed"

What the heck is that?

Yeah, it will say that forever afterwards.

Don't bother to check your status after the interview; it will never say 'accepted' (or 'rejected' I assume).
 
It's been a while since anyone posted here... Any acceptances, interview invites last week??

After sitting with the "your file is being reviewed by the committee" message for over a month, I received an invite this afternoon for 12/5.

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats, UTnut! When did you send in your secondary and when were you marked complete?

And does anyone know how often Baylor sends out interview invites?

I sent in my secondary on 8/6 and was complete a week or two later I believe.

Does anyone know how long their interview season is? and how many spots they've gone through? (i'm guessing a fourth or a third by now?

Well considering they said they would be making acceptances roughly every two weeks, and tomorrow is two weeks from the last batch of acceptances... and that the only other batch of acceptances was also on a Tuesday... I'd say it wouldn't be crazy to be crossing some fingers for tomorrow!

Not to get anyone's hopes up... but no reason not to be optimistic!
 
Finally got an interview offer for 12/5. Baylor seems to be the slowest of the in-state schools I applied to.

Congrats everyone who got in!

From SDN's interview invite thread:
Baylor interview days so far: 9/5, 9/19(canceled), 10/3, 10/24, 11/7

From SDN's acceptance thread:
On 10/21, only people who interviewed on 10/3 were accepted.
On 10/28, only people who interviewed on 9/5 were accepted.

So, probably...
On 11/11, people who interviewed 10/17 and 10/24 will be accepted?

I wonder if they'll also accept people who they passed over at a previous meeting. :luck::luck::luck:

So they've accepted about 50ish out of maybe 300 or so?

That was the pattern I was alluding to in my last post, so I hope so! Did they not interview on 10/10 or 10/17?

In all actuality, it makes no sense to worry at this point. They said at the interview they're going to accept by far the largest number of people in March or so, so if you don't hear right away, DON'T worry 🙂 (that's what I'm telling myself, anyways 😛)

Also, I want to say that I heard at some point on our interview day that they keep a running list of "top candidates" by a score they arrive at after they calculate in our interview along with our raw app, and then each time it comes time to accept more people, they just pull the top X people off that list and accept them, regardless of what date they interviewed on. I have a sneaking suspicion that the fact that all of the people accepted on 10/21 interviewed on 10/3 and that all the people accepted on 10/28 interviewed on 9/5 is purely anecdotal and an artifact of us having a small sample size. If we saw the whole acceptance groups from both days, I bet we'd see that people from both interview dates were accepted in each batch.
 
I interviewed on 10/17, along with like 60-80 other people.

Actually, I'm looking back now, and it looks like Gecko got his acceptance on 10/24 (a Friday). So maybe they're just giving out calls whenever they feel like it?

Well, I guess it's time to give up hope for tonight... guess there's no point in us looking out for specific days in the future, since there doesn't seem to be a pattern...

All the same, I'd hope that sometime this week they'll send out another batch 🙂

Who knows...today is Veteran's Day, the Admissions Office might not be staffed and they don't have access to the list until tomorrow...

Or we could just forget about it until they surprise us 😀

I had to reschedule, it was way easy. You just put on the website that you need to reschedule and they email you back that same day. When you choose a day, they actually send you out another email invitation at the same time they send out the invitations for the others scheduled that day. Have fun!
 
Congrats to everyone who got invites!

My application "has been reviewed" since mid-September and I still have no interview news yet. Is there still a decent shot to get in for people who interview late in the season?
 
People interviewing on the 5th,

What are your plans for housing/travel? Are you looking into student hosting or hotels? Also, seeing as how the interview day lasts until 7:00pm, are you guys considering leaving the 6th in the morning?

I can't recommend student hosting highly enough. It was a GREAT experience, it's free, and you can go with them to class in the morning. Oh, and it's FREE.

Also, I did stay until the day after since I went to the social afterward, which I also highly recommend doing. My host was cool with it... but if you want to do the extra day and have a student host, you need to get in the request NOW 🙂
 
Ya know, it occurs to me that we have so few active people on this thread... and really, so few active post-interviewees on SDN since they have only had 4 interview days so far, meaning maybe 200-240 people in the country who have interviewed, that they easily could have sent out acceptances this week, only it happened to not be to anyone on SDN 🙁

Who knows...

I thought Baylor said something about sending out acceptances every two weeks. (Don't quote me on that, though).

Yep, that's what I remember. So there's one of three possibilities:

1) They DID send out some acceptances this week, just not to anyone on SDN.

2) "Every two weeks" doesn't mean every two weeks on the same day, in which case, they could send out calls tonight or tomorrow still.

3) They're falling behind.

Oh well. In any case, they did stress how most people won't hear until spring, so I guess maybe they're just accepting the superapplicants like pianola right now 🙂

Still trying to figure out what to do to promote luck for my other schools that are announcing decisions tomorrow 😛 I'd really love all of those schools, too, especially UT-Southwestern

And they're pretty close to the lowest of any OOSer accepted to Baylor during any cycle. Seriously. (Which doesn't mean they're BAD stats, they're just not astronomically good stats).

Which just goes to show you, you never know unless you apply. 🙂

And also, to clear up what I meant, I don't mean "superapplicants" as in the people with ridiculous stats, I just mean, in general, an extremely strong applicant. I'm sure that when you look at pianola's FULL application, there's a bunch of stuff in there that would make you think, "yeah, of COURSE she got in at Baylor, and I'm sure they'll get Cornell and all those other places." 🙂 Or maybe you just had the most personable interview ever. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that if you got in already, you must have some serious doctor potential 🙂

Anyways, because of that, don't give up jgberken! If you come across as nice in interviews as you do on here, any school that doesn't let you in would have to be crazy 🙂

Awww thanks spurs! Now I really hope you get accepted to all your schools! 😛

Seriously, my app isn't as pretty as pianola's...so I'm hoping for a miracle (or maybe they'll realize how much I LOVE baylor and feel bad for me.)
 
We still have a long period of time in which we might hear good news from our schools! That's the beauty/curse of this process...
