It seems like the season gets shorter and shorter and the conditions get worse and worse every year 🙁

Yea, the snowboard season in socal will soon cease to exist. Its so sad. Luckily Ill be making millions as a doctor and will be able to to travel to really nice ski resorts around the world......oh wait.

UCI is still handing out acceptances from the 11/20 interview day. So if you interviewed later than that, you still have a little while to wait. Probably next weekend or the weekend after.

Oh, and my theory still holds true.

hmm, i wonder how long that change has been updated. Definitely send them a LOI, they specifically said it could play a big factor when they are deciding to choose to pull people form the WL. If you are really interested in the school, I'd definitely do it.

Yeah, I've been through the wait list emotional rollercoaster. GL to all the other applicants I hope there is better news for some.

so i called the admissions office to inquire about updates i've sent and also asked them about what 'pending review' means n was told that your file has been reviewed once and is in the pipeline to be reviewed a second time but don't know when that will be

My secondary was marked complete late August, but the interview status has said "Decision Pending" for the past 5 months!! What would you recommend that I do? Send an update letter/letter of interest?
Is no news good news at this point? Sigh...so depressing.

It is pretty good news actually. From what I understand they review all secondaries earlier in the year and they either invite, reject, or hold (or pending review haha). Once they finish the first round they go back over the pending review kids again and do the same thing...but then I think its either invite or reject.

just wondering, has anyone gotten a formal notification (email or snail mail letter) for a rejection? my "interview status" says DENIED...since october. I am just wondering, because one of my friends just got a rejection email today and I havent received anything.

i think my inbox is eating all the important emails...cus apparently tulane "sent me an email" that i never received as well.

so, anyone? just want to know if its my email account or not. good luck to those that are still in the running!

Same here, "pending review" for over 5 months. I called the admissions office and they basically said I'm on a pre-interview hold and will get either an interview invite or a rejection within the next couple of months.

At this point, if we get invited to interview, we'll probably be interviewing for waitlist spots. But I never give up hope.

They told me that it would be in May. I've been on the Alternate List since November. They suggested writing them a quick informal email saying something along the lines of "I LOVE YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE" if you are still interested.

I sent one and have gotten no acknowledgment of it at all. But I'm pretty sure I read that they accept them or else I wouldn't have sent it in the first place.

I've never heard of UCI interviewing exclusively for waitlist spots. I doubt that will change this year.

They usually have 1-2 dates in March and 1-2 in April. They just might not be offering them for you to sign up yet.

From what they told us at interview, they only accept 1/3 of their applicaints straight out of interview. The remaining 2/3 go to the waitlist and are picked up later (this what i was told was the main reason they got rid of the Second Look day because not enough students had been accepted). So the class definitely is not full yet, and technically your chance of being accepted shouldnt differ if you interviewed the first day compared to if you interviewed the last day (since 1/3 will always get accepted). They only do about 1-2 interviews per month, with about 40 applicants coming per interview day.

Yea I think its a great place to go to school (go figure), but seriously, if anything its another excuse to come down to the SUPERIOR and WAY COOLER half of the state. I mean we are talking blue skies and 75 degree weather in the middle of january. The interview that you'll have with the current student will be outside, under a tree/in the grass. I mean thats really not that big of a deal at all, but it was just different....and refreshing. I dunno, its the little things that get my attention 🙂 Anyways, i know you'll rock it! You have to let me know what you think after youve gone.
