This thread has been deader than dead... anyone heard any UCI news lately?

I interviewed in early January and am anxiously awaiting my fate -->

just received an interview invite today i think. i dont know.. i never received an email, but just randomly checked the status page which said i was granted an interview. the only date they let me pick was late march =/ since i dont have to fly or anything i might as well go.

Might as well go?? I would kill for that interview...hell I'd give up all of my interviews for a crack at UCI!

im sorry i didnt mean it like that. i just felt like going to the interview this late in the season would be interviewing for a waitlist spot since i was pending review for 5 months. im really happy to get the chance to interview, and i hope you get one too 🙂

Hmm, so I've been "pending review" for a secondary since July, should I email them to speed up my rejection? Alternatively, if I do get offered a secondary, would it be even worth it to fill it out?

I was complete the first week of September and just received an interview invite (or rather the update appeared on my status page). I think I'm done interviewing so hopefully the slot will get passed on to someone who really wants it.

I was surprised to get one on Thanksgiving. I think if they send a secondary, they are interested. Probably VERY interested. Last year, my friend got interviewed in like April and got in. I am hoping to get an interview soon, myself.

Yes fill it out! lol They have shown interest in you so now you gotta rock their socks off with your secondary essays 🙂

Our current situations seem to be very similar. I recently (Jan) got a chance to send in a UCSF secondary and was stunned too. It's like "why did they wait so long and are they really that interested in me????" Definitely gotta give it a shot! For me, it has been the best (only) positive feedback considering I have no interviews. Hopefully it works out for both of us! Good luck!

I just interviewed there last week and found UCI to be pretty impressive. However, what was even more impressive were the students interviewing with me. From what I saw, UCI really tries to attract top-notch students with very interesting backgrounds. You guys will love it when you interview!

I think you get the email if you sent them the fafsa? I'm pre-interview (but got an invite), and I got the email. So obviously, it means nothing in terms of admission status.

i totally understand... i'm in the same boat. haven't been rejected by them yet... but still "pending interview". it's the only school i'm still alive at in california, and it just so happens to be one of my favorite. i'd take this in a heartbeat over practically any acceptance out of state =( good luck to us both
