the first time I saw "Decision Made...." there was no date in the add corr box. It has since changed to 12/19/08. I think its a good sign because the only person on this forum to received a rejection letter after a post-interview decision made notice did not have an additional correspondence on their status page.:xf:

So when did people approx received CBC email during last time..I mean like what time of the day..btw, has anyone received it yet?

so anyone receive a cbc email yet?

nope. but im also still wondering if you get a second cbc email if you've already been accepted to another school that is participating in it. seems to be conflicting thoughts.....

This is what happened to me. From my understanding, the additional correspondence is the big packet with a lot of information and your site placement card. CONGRATS!

I didnt check mine until around noon-ish and it said additional correspondence: 12/19/08. I wouldn't know if this spot was blank earlier or what the sequence of events was.

OH well, I am totally going to mass tonight to pray to my God. lol!

well i interviewed 12/1/08.

i recieved the email saying that i am still under consideration. anyone have any idea what would be good for me to do so that i can join you all in january with an acceptance?

i can only hope for the best, but it's no fun being stuck really in between and not knowing my fate at uic. i had hoped for some love/acceptance since i was gppa and i feed uic a lot of my money in undergrad now.

saddest of days.

congrats to all of you. come to millennium park anytime and i can get you all free skates....pm me if you want.

Yo, i interviewed 12/8 and i got the same email. What do we do now? just wait? letter of intent? stalk them?.... i want UIC so bad.

Still a little early, anyone wake up to a CBC email. I didn't but I'm hoping it will come some time today.

well i imagine we wait and see. i honestly have no clue what to tell you. maybe check the other forums to see if those applicants were eventually accepted.

I didn't either but we can't possibly expect everything to be exactly the same as last time.lol. I hope it comes soon tho..

In order to assuage any fears it should be noted that people in this thread who got the "decision made" notice on a friday (earlier cycle, 10/24) did not get their CBC emails until Sunday, then most got their packets on monday. I bet AMCAS has processing to do that gets delayed over the weekend. So history predicts that we will get CBC emails tomorrow.:xf:

so I'm assuming that all of you over here except 2-3 got the message change to "Final decision..." and additional correspondence box? Did anyone only get "Final decision.." and not the additional correspondence box?

i checked the mail and the acceptance packet came!!! i'm staring at it in disbelief...:soexcited: (i'm in the chicagoland area.) Like the others, my status says: "A final decision was made on your application on 12-19-08. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

Additional Correspondence box in the corner says 12/19/08. I interviewed 12/12. Looks like all the paperwork has a Jan. 5th due date.

thanks to everyone in this thread, you've been so helpful, informative, and supportive! can't wait to meet people in person!!!!

Congrats BSharp! I live in the north suburbs of Chicago, but did not receive anything in the mail today. Do you live in the city?

yeah, sorry for the ambiguity. i'm in the city, north side. i'm sure you'll get the packet on monday, and maybe the cbc email tomorrow! usps is the worst.

thanks! i interviewed in chicago, what about you?

at peoria! oh man..I live in the suburbs of chicago..so hopefully I'll receive it on Monday!

I live by downtown and no mail on my end. =( Maybe I should put off going out for a lil bit.

COngratz B33sharp!!!!!! When do you plan on turning in your site preference card? I assume your gonna head over to UIC and just hand it in.

Congrats Bsharp! So just to clarify, you have not yet received your CBC email right? And so far nobody on this forum has?

that's right, I have not yet received the cbc email. it doesn't seem like others have either. maybe tomorrow??

I could do that, but we'll see how crappy it is outside next week. (i wonder if their not already closed for break anyway...) i'm heading out of town so at the very least i'll have to send it in the mail before leaving. they make it sound like it's first come, first served, but from other posts in this thread, that might not be the case. i'm not exactly sure how they make the determination, but i'll post when i get my assignment.

Another day awaiting confirmation. CBC emails should come today for those accepted. Maybe tomorrow, maybe some packets come tomorrow, who knows. This wait is really starting to get to me. I'm going to church

i had both

I had both also.

I think my packet is going to miami just like my interview invite even tho I live in north chicago (the surburb) and my amcas CLEARLY states the latter as my preferred mailing address.

Just gonna hope the CBC shows up soon!

I feel for you. This whole process is one wait after another. A few months ago we were waiting for our AMCAS applications to be verified, then for our secondaries to come in, then for interview invites, then for decisions. With UIC, even after you get your decision, you'll be waiting for your site assignment!
:boom:

Upon graduation, I think they should award us dual doctorates in both medicine and the art of waiting. You know, kind of like an "MD,WD". Once the waiting is over though, hopefully you'll feel it was worth it. I did.

Hey thats my situation too. They sent my interview invite to my folks place in MN. I wonder if that means they are considering us as in state or OOS applicants. I claimed residency in Illinois but for some reason they have been using my parents address(St. Paul MN, permanent) and not my current (oak park IL) address. If accepted, I hope to pay IS tuition because my wife and I have lived here for almost 2yrs, she has worked here full time for over a year, we pay IL taxes, are registered in IL for everything, etc.

Just curious, but why did you list your parents address as your permanent address if you have been married for a couple years and living in Illinois?

I don't think it will matter, if your wife has been working for over a year I'm sure you'll pay instate tuition, although they may find it odd that you listed your parents as your permanent address. I'm glad to know that there will be another married student in our class!! If you get placed in Urbana for the first year we should get together 🙂

Congratulations and hopefully the CBC comes quickly!

Basically, i did it because I applied to all the MN schools and I wanted evidence of ties to MN. Because while I'm a resident of IL, I've spent 90% of my life in MN. So for IL schools I claimed residency in IL, and for the MN schools I talked about my life long ties to MN.

Brilliant! Good work RueTay!

They probably consider you OOS, but it doesn't sound like it will be a problem to get IS tuition for you.

I know back when I interviewed in Oct, they gave numbers for the # of OOS applicants accepted. Does anyone remember that #? Or rather percentage? Was it like 27%?

So nobody here has received the cbc email right? It is Sunday, so I guess I shouldn't be expecting anything today...hopefully good news tomorrow!

Don't lose hope for hearing this afternoon/evening. Earlier in this forum the people who had status changes on friday reported getting CBC emails that sunday. Their posts were in the evening. It seems strange but who knows whats going on over their at AMCAS anyway. Maybe they work half days on Sunday.

The mail does not run on Sundays, at least in the US. They must have forgotten to check their mail on Saturday... 🙂 Ahhh, I'm so impatient, I want to know now!!

I just tried to edit my last post and can't seem to figure out how to do it...silly me. But I just saw that you wrote "e-mail" instead of "mail." I thought they didn't send out e-mail decisions, only snail mail packets?
