I check my status today and my letters have now been received.

Anybody else become complete without an email notification? Seems like UMMS is especially good about immediate/automated emails when your status changes.

For anyone who has attended the interview day before: how late should we stay? The website says that events end at 2:30PM but are there unofficial events that last beyond that?
 
my undergrad says that it is not participating in the AMCAS LOE system, but UMich seems to be expecting it from amcas. Anyone else in this situation?

this is not entirely true.. i was offered an acceptance and a pretty decent scholarship deal-- im from UT-Austin, but i do agree that there's a lot of Ivy representation that ends up at Mich.. their philosophy w/ the auto-interview is that they probably would have interviewed those kids anyway..however, when making final offers, i feel they are very objective in their approach and look at many other factors besides GPA/MCAT.. i say this b/c i know a good number of ppl w/ awesome stats that didnt get in... so while stats probably do play a big role in getting an interview, getting an acceptance will also depend on everything else you're about

im thrilled to be heading there next fall.. gluck to all of you!

Hey - everything is checked off on my status page, but it still says "AMCAS Application Received," nothing about being complete. Is this where everyone else is at too?
 
hey guys! you guys with interviews--- where are you guys staying, at one of the recommended hotels? does anyone know the area well?

Mine switched to "Evaluations/Recommendations - Complete" with a blurb about my file currently being under review a few days after everything was checked off.

i used travelocity to get a flight/hotel package...after tax, it ended up being $285 which i thought was a really good deal.. the hotel was red roof inn and it wasnt bad at all.. even had a restaurant attached to it downstairs... used a shuttle service to get to the room from the airport and then a cab in the morning to get to campus.. then used a shuttle service again to get back to the airport from campus.. chances are there will be other interviewees riding w/ you to/from the airport.. thats how it was when i visited.. here are the details on the hotel:

where are you staying? I'm staying at their recommended place, the microtel inn. wasnt too bad, they have a AAA discount.

oh yea, is there a way for us to find out who our interviewers are ahead of time?
 
hmm the 3 of us are all staying in different places. maybe we can meet up the night before for dinner or something?

darnit! meetchy, you submitted after me, but somehow they havent received my payment y et, so im not complete.

how long did it take for you to get the "check" for the payment?
 
I submitted on the 30th and I am also having issues getting a check for the fee, though I paid them their money. Are they trying to hustle me? Should I call my crew and mess up U of Mich?

I submitted my payment as soon as I got their secondary (2 weeks ago?). I waited on the essays because I'm lazy like that 😀. It was processed within a day I believe.

hmm I guess i'm going to wait a few more days, and if they still dont have my money (which was removed from my bank account the same day i paid...) by wed, ill give them a call

sigh idk why schools can't make an automated system for recording fee payments. a lot of schools are like this. oh well...
 
Does anyone have the deadline for the secondary at hand if we have an interview scheduled?

I remember it being something like two weeks before your interview date or something but i can't remember. I've been scrounging around in the emails and website and can't find anything.

received a lovely hold email this morning 🙁.......
 
yea I was complete 7/25, put on "hold" 8/13.

My take on it is I'm not quite good enough, BUT if I send in some awesome updates (I may get published soon) and a sappy love letter or two, I could have a shot at an interview later in the season.
 
Looks like I'll be joining the hold group too. I received a hold this morning (8/14). I was complete on 7/28.

Yes, I received one a few days ago. I saw it on my status page first, but got an e-mail about it the next day.

I was complete in mid-July.

I've been complete since 7/22 and still haven't gotten anything from michigan. And my stats are worse than yours (so i'm expecting a rejection or hold).
 
Does everything come from e-mail? I was complete on the 28th, still nothing. I'm getting nervous :[ or maybe no news = good news?

I guess the University of Delaware isn't prestigious enough for that honor, haha. Oh well; waiting a few extra weeks is no big deal anyway. 🙂
 
Man this is probably the first time I regret not going to a prestigious undergrad. Would have gotten an auto interview with a prestigious name (or what UM considers prestigious) and 3.8, instead I'm on hold and not getting my hopes up for an interview.
 
For those of you who are currently scheduling interviews, can someone confirm that 9/19 is still open? I need to reschedule mine from 9/5 to 9/19, and I can't check to make sure that day is still free.

If anybody who has 9/19 wants to trade for 9/5, we can probably do that, too haha...

The woman who handles the interviews is out of the office, so I can't reach her...
