I got to admit some of the stuff you said was way left field but, I got to give it to you, this picture made me crack up when I saw it!🤣

good to have a sense of humor man. i don't take a most things seriously and that has gotten me into some trouble. still would rather deal with laid back people. try to avoid people who are angry, sensitive, or stuckup. now I'm gonna have to retire this account due to all the negative flack surrounding it. damn

where's everyone planning on living in DC? i have a 1100/month rent budget and would like to live somewhere close to the school that is quiet, clean, safe, and well lighted. any suggestions? i'm also not accepting requests for roommates at this time so please dont ask.

I hope the student housing is a good option. That was what i was hoping for so I can get acquainted with the area. From what I've been hearing, for those wanting to live in DC they should stay NW or W and away from the SE.

has anyone received the CBC (criminal Back ground check) email?

Nothing about the CBC yet. Howard seem to be really quite right now. Are they whining down for the holiday break? Any new interview invites out there?

Howards still on vacation I guess.

I just interviewed 12/1, they definitely aren't still on break. Now just waiting to hear back...

Good luck tally88 hope you hear good news

Pinkivy you been accepted anywhere yet? Just wondering?

wasn't everything just lovely? i was so excited to be there, i just couldn't stop talking about anything. i really did appreciate all the students' input and stories, too. i thank God everyday i got this far...at the same time, there's no way He's gonna let me get this far and let me down. 😀 until then, i guess i'll finish up this semester while we wait!! have a nice day everyone.

Thats exactly what I keep telling myself. I got started late this cycle, so I was really worried. Now that I have 4 interviews lined up, I know God is gonna get me in somewhere!😀

II: 11/24
Interview: 12/8

Can anybody share how the interview is like? What's the best way to prepare? What kind of questions should I expect? Based on past experience, do you think they will make a decision by the end of the year?

More importantly, the "green questionnaire" stuffs or something like that we have to fill out on the day of the interview...can anyone share some lights into what kind of questions they ask? Do we have to write essays? thanks!

First of all I just want to say, chill out! The interview is very relaxed! You can prepare by knowing exactly what you wrote on your application - be able to explain those things in detail and relate them to how they played a part in your decision to become a physician. My interviewer was super chill and we really had a meaningful conversation where he got to know what type of person I am and my motivation for helping the underserved. Thats the most important part- you have to relay to them why you want to work with the underserved (thats their mission statement). I met other interviewers and they seemed very relaxed and non-confrontational too. So just try to be yourself and show them how great you are. As for the questionnaire, it just asked about your experiences working with the underserved and etc. It was no biggie, nothing at all to worry about.

Out of all my interviews, I enjoyed Howard the most. They really seem to have a great support network!

i'm out of committee--just a little tachycardic with a bit of dyspnea...

Throw on some O2 to solve those symptoms lol

if you prepared properly and did well in undergrad and on your mcat then you should get in. not sure why you are "on your knees". sigh

Yes, I have a few acceptances (specifics posted on my MDapps). I would still LOVE to interview at Howard, but haven't heard a peep in months. I was just curious if anyone else has heard of a recent batch of interview invites, but I guess that's a no...

i was talking about the forum and not the nature of the application process. i do recall a few harsh words directed toward your end but that's all history. i really hope to see some howard adcom movement before the upcoming holiday!

thanks for the suggesting jclass,

and

"on my knees" refers to prayer (not sure if you were being sarcastic...but that's my response) i am confident of myself, and at the same time, things are just getting to where i want them to be, you know? this is what i've been working for since...since i decided i wanted to pursue this career when i was a kid!

also

i interviewed 11/17 🙂

No problem Thingshopedfor you work in the health field now? And pinkivy congrats on you acceptances! I still hope you get an opportunity to check howard out! Good luck 🙂

not really, i work in a basic science lab, and i'm majoring in physiology. and yourself?

Yea work at hospital as a PCT basically a medical assistant, hard work but decent pay and great experience. I'm at work as we speak.

Hey everyone, haven't posted in a while, but to answer a previous question, there have been recent interview, I had mine two days ago on December 2nd. To let everyone know, just relax. Howard is an amazing school that really does feel like home and I would be truly blessed to be accepted there. The interview is very laid back and you just need to be yourself and answer your questions honestly. They really are looking for genuine people who want to help there community so.....BE GENUINE!! haha...but really just be real and you guys that have upcoming interviews will be fine!!!...Good luck to everyone, I'll be praying for all you guys...keep me in your prayers also, praying for an acceptance from Howard!!!🙂

ok, thanks for the knees clarification. I though your moniker was referring to you being your knees, begging the adcom for an acceptance.

Iam a long time follower of this, first post. Aiming for class of 2015. I notice from your 'Md applicant' page that you have had a good cycle, congratulations. But are you gonna update it to include the stats? It would really really be helpful.

it sounds like it offers variety (your job jclass). i'm going to be a TA next semester for second semester bio lab (in addition to the now menial work i do in my lab). i think that job will be trying, but the pay is ok...in case you were wondering...

and

i'm not in the business of begging thecleaner so i'm glad that you now are aware...although i feel like all the other allusions to the Bible would have been just as revealing 😀 i definitely mean that in love without any sarcasm because i know (because i've been reading this thread) how these things can get out of hand. i hope the smiley conveyed that.

...i really want to meet all of you.

you're a good kid, keep your head up. even though i talk smack to these people i have respect for all of them and deep down i hope everyone here succeeds.

Yes, I will most definitely update when this is all said and done! For now, I'm keeping the stats and activities hidden. Someone on SDN said something once about how they were identified at an interview by their SDN handle 😱 so I figured while it might be slightly paranoid of me, I'm going to at least keep stats and ECs empty until the end...no way for schools to know exactly who I am then.

2015...so, so young! lol. Nah, I wish I had found this site when I was still in undergrad. It would've given me more focus, or at least I think so...

This site is good for advice, but sometimes people can be really negative in here. If I would of listened to some of the sdners out there I would not be in the sitation I'm in
