The volunteer staff have lately been getting several complaints about this thread. Let's please try and keep the discussions here civil and on topic.

i dont drive a harley

LMAO! Haha nice one. That was definitely a great episode.

Wait, so F** results in a warning but D***** doesn't. That's messed up.

Anyway, back on topic. Does anyone know if NU gives out acceptances periodically or do they notify twice in two mass e-mails. I know, in the past, it used to be the latter.

Anyone get a post-interview rejection or deferred decision yet? If so, by mail, e-mail, or status page?

I was under the impression that they were doing a more "real" rolling this year instead of the 2 batch system, but don't take my word for it.

At my interview, they mentioned that you will "hear from us in about 2 months" and we will will say one of two things:

1) congrats, you're in
or
2) you will hear from us in march

They said this to us as well but I was accepted about 3 weeks after...I doubt that its the 2 big times this year just because of that

Is it too late to submit a secondary here?

I don't think so. Several of the students there said they interviewed in Feb. I'd hurry though lol. Weren't you already accepted at Mayo? Why add more schools now?

does anyone know what days Northwestern offers interviews during the week?

I'll be in the area for my University of Chicago - Pritzker interview (on a Monday) in three weeks and would like to sent an "in the area" letter/email/phone call to the admissions office at Northwestern.

I remember when I was scheduling mine there were Wednesdays, Mondays and Fridays.

i'm trying to figure out my chances for getting into NU, i'm still a sophomore and would like to make any necessary adjustments.

for those of you who got interviews, would you mind posting or messaging me your stats, extracurriculars, etc?

thanks!

nah. im waiting too. Lets hope its not too late, anyways

Acceptances went out a week ago. Maybe they'll go out today too! :xf:

Man... Deferred til march:
Hello Bryson17,

I wish to take this opportunity to again thank you for interviewing at the Feinberg School of Medicine. We appreciate the expenditure of effort and resources necessary to interview with us.

Our admissions committee has met recently and reviewed your application and our interviewers’ reports and decided to delay until March a final decision on your application.

I expect that many of the applicants receiving this message will eventually receive an acceptance to FSM. Some will be placed on a waitlist and only a few will be declined. I wish we could have a final decision for you now, but the volume of candidates yet to be seen makes it advisable that we delay.

Please be patient and check back to the FSM website to receive news about Northwestern. As always, we are pleased to receive updates from you. You can send any additional information to [email protected].

We appreciate your continued interest in the Feinberg School of Medicine and look forward to communicating with you in the future.

Warmest Regards,

Warren H Wallace, MD
Associate Dean for Admission

If you don't mind me asking, when did you interview bryson?

Deferred as well. Wonder what the stats are for that... i.e. how many get accepted right off the bat, and how many of the deferred eventually get accepted.

Why is this thread so dead compared to all the other schools?

has nwestern started sending out rejections or have they stopped sending interviews yet? anyone also know if there is a way to check on your status?

many thanks,

phialpha

I don't think they've interviewed that many yet. Their secondary was just due yesterday, so I'd be really surprised if they stopped sending invites.

Here's the status check website:

You posted this on every page, didn't you?

Hey guys. I've tried very hard to be patient, but I can't help but asking this question anyway. I interviewed around 11/22 and haven't heard back anything. So almost 4 weeks. I know they don't outright reject after the interview, so should I call/email to ask if they've deferred or accepted me?

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.

They'll email you when they've decided whether to defer or accept you. And I think you meant you interviewed on 10/22?

You're right -- sorry about that, 10/22. So I guess I'll hang on then. Thanks 🙂

what can i do to get an interview here? i had a summer mcat so they didnt look at my app till mid oct..then i sent them an updated CV a week and a half ago...still just complete and under review

Me too. 🙁 Gotta keep hoping though!

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but how do you know that they "set aside" your application?

Mine says under review ... hmmmm

I'll put it this way, I've been "under review" for 3.5 months so I think it's a safe assumption.

Last year I didn't get an interview invite until the beginning of January, but my application was complete very late.

Just got an interview invite today (dates are early Dec to early Feb). Have been complete since August 4th... so there's still hope 🙂

Congrats! I submitted August 7th and was complete shortly afterwards. So maybe they'll come back to my app eventually, as I'm sure they've already looked and passed on me the first go-round.

hey all, I'm interviewing here this week... any recommendations on hotels?

I'm looking for something really cllose to the school. cheap would be nice too 🙂

For my MSTP interview they put us up at the Affinia Hotel. It was nice and close, but I can imagine that it was NOT cheap.

Priceline Name your Own price. I bid $70 a night and got a hotel downtown (Doubletree - Magnificent Mile, I think). Two blocks away from the school.

Does anyone know about the student housing? Where students live, apartment or dorm style, what costs what, etc?
