I actually heard Limp Bizkit on the radio this morning for the first time in years. Tucson has crappy radio stations. You gotta come to Phoenix for the good stuff.
 
The radio is way too corporate. Its annoying to hear the same song playing on three different stations at the same time. Gotta go with Pandora for good radio
 
Still no word from Tucson for anyone then? Just tried calling the office. No answer.

For email invites this year, hasn't Tucson been sending them out in the morning? I mean, I guess that ehandber/mathlink battle is pretty intense, but you'd hope that they would have settled it by now.
 
To my knowledge, Tucson has always done everything in the AM...

Maybe, with my luck, if I shut down my computer, turn off my phone, and go running through the countryside they'll send the emails out. I'm willing to take if for the team.

friend of mine just called me to tell me he JUST received an acceptance from U of A - Tucson. Looks like emails are starting to come out...and with acceptances too!!!!

#62 🙁 and just got waitlisted at phoenix today too. bummer
 
last year waitlisted at #60
this year waitlisted at #121

umm...I didn't even know the waitlist went that far down! 🙁
 
i've been following this thread awhile and haven't said anything - i'm jeanne and i live in phoenix and i have a non-traditional background... i'm praying to get in. but we'll see....
 
I really have a feeling #61 is too far down the line. I'm hopin' to be MadEvans Jr! Maybe I should change my username right now, just to get that good luck flowin'!

nope. I think they stopped at 55 last year - but the year prior they did get to that number, so it all varies year to year like they said in that letter. hang in there!! :luck:
 
did anyone figure out if there is just one waitlist (for IS and OOS) or different waitlists? if there is just one combined waitlist for both IS and OOS, i would bet that the waitlist moves a lot more this yr, being that the tuition for OOS is $42,676.

Pretty sure someone called Tucson and they said the list is combined IS and OOS this year.
 
Rejected. Since I'm OOS, can't say I'm too surprised. Congrats to all of the accepted and those in good positions on the wait list.
 
I hope Mathlink got a good waitlist..... thats the only reason I'm coming back to this thread now.
 
just got rejected too. im OOS... i thought i killed that interview so i im surprised i couldnt even make a waitlist that goes down into 120's =( any OOS applicants make the waitlist?
 
I was under the impression that the WL was 100 positions in years past - is it possible they increased the size in anticipation of more movement?! Just trying to stay positive 😀

I think you answered this, but did you apply to any DO schools? I did, and got accepted - I'm hoping it ends up as my backup (good schools, but way expensive).

I just have to say I love Bahama Buck's. They have great sugar free options too (which is the only reason I can go there)!

Two years ago Tucson hit 65. This year with OOSers, I see it hitting 75-80, but that's just my guess.

OOS tuition is posted on the financial aid website as being $44,062 (http://www.financial-aid.medicine.arizona.edu/applying.html), but yes I think that will help movement.

God damn man, that sucks. I know we were all pulling for you on here. I know this isn't the end of the line yet for you, so don't lose hope. Even though this is your third time around, don't let the dream die. My mom works with a doc who took 5 years to get it, so I know you can do it and you'll be a bad ass doctor when do!

i think those are estimated tuition numbers though....at least i think thats what it says? "est.tuition/fees"......i got an email saying that "as of yesterday the Arizona Board of Regents has approved tuition and program fees for the College of Medicine for 2010-2011. Those rates will be $25,538 for Residents, and $42,676 for Non-Residents."

but perhaps that is for one campus and not the other? though i would think they would both have the same tuition. 😕 hmmm

I'm so sorry mathlink. If this is something that you've always wanted to do, please don't give up. It's not worth it to let this stupid process steal that dream.

Reydn, what DO school did you get accepted at? I'll be going to WesternU if I don't hear any good news from phx.
 
I'm starting to regret joking about being between #45-65, heh heh. Come on WL, MOVE! Move to 62 so paiger and I can go (or at least have the option of going) to Tucson!
