Ryserr already said he thought blank was an acceptance.

Get excited about other schools dude. Who knows, maybe we'll both be at UCI next year, but it doesn't make sense to worry about it at this point. May is a long way off.
 
I love UCI, too, but seriously guys. The last pages is chocked full of the stuff that makes excellent premed jokes. 😉 Deep breath.

yea i wouldnt read into it. The rhyme and reason of med school admission will always be a mystery. I had a little sneak peak the other day as i had a meeting for a mentorship program with dean peterson - she told us about what it is that they are looking for and certain things like that but was still pretty secretive about most stuff, haha. This is the first person ive seen waitlisted multiple weeks after acceptance, so i dunno. Like i said, no gaurantees. Im pretty sure that there is no ranking for waitlists, but i could be wrong. Ive been told that when people start dropping acceptances they start to pull people off teh waitlist that are similar to that person that left - if that makes any sense. I dunno how true this is, just what i was told by a student.
 
Does anybody know the official title of the lady who answers the phone when you call their main number (Gail, I believe is her name). I need to send her an email and I'm just wondering if she's more of a clerical position or an actual admissions officer. Anyone who knows please fill me in.
 
Today would be a really good day to get a call. Just putting it out there.

Yeah, seriously.

Everytime my phone rings my heart skips a beat.

"Please be 949 area code, please be 949 area code..."
 
So can we assume that after two rounds of review we are safe? We are oficially on week five as of today.
This has been driving me so crazy that I even had a dream that I got the call last night. I was sooooooo happy until I realized I got the call while playing basketball with Lebron James and came to realty that I was dreaming.

Also I was reading last years thread and noticed acceptances took more time becuSe of background checks? Maybe this is what they are waiting on?

You can just call her Gail.
 
i'm interviewing here on monday and was wondering if i could get some insight in to how the day goes and what sort of questions to expect. thanks!

Its a really relaxed and laid back day. Youll start off with a tour of the campus lead by a few second years. youll listen to dean peterson talk and listen to general info about the school and admissions and this and that. youll have a student interviewer, youll eat some lunch. Youll have a faculty interviewer.....thats pretty much the day in a nutshell. Dont stress - no need to worry.

I feel ya man. This is killing me. It's looking more and more like imma be flying out to NY in a couple days. Sigh.
 
I sure hope we hear by then. Even though there's a good chance we will know really soon, its hard to get excited because of all the false alarms... my UCI-linked excitement is starting to taper off into a mild background of anxiety

Yeah... I wonder if this is making decision-release a lot more anti-climactic than it would've been had we been called/status updated last week.

Really though, if we don't find out tomorrow... rawr.

I bet we don't hear till tomorrow. (not really, but seeing as optimism hasn't worked so far might as well give pessimism a shot🙄)
 
this has gotten ridiculous... It has gotten to the point where I shower with my phone in the bathroom.
 
why doesn't somebody call and see what the deal is? I totally would but I interviewed on 10/7 so I'm sure they don't wanna hear from me when 9/23 people haven't heard yet

Then again, they did tell us we would hear this week, so it would be cool to find out what the deal is. I'm tempted but will at least wait a few more hours before acting on it. At least my status page is still blank today...

I called. We might not hear this week. I guess I'll be going to my interview on Tuesday.

I know this will sound redundant after the previous comments about the interview day...but I just interviewed today and I think I fell in love. This place rocks.
