40-80. I'm right there with you. There are something like 400 people put on the list out of the 600 that interview. I know those chances sound ridiculously slim, but remember that UCSD accepts approximately 50% of those they interview... so the rest kind of just drop off the list because they don't want UCSD anymore.

I doubt a dean would call you to tell you that you got waitlisted or rejected 😛 Definitely a good sign!

I finally got a secondary from them after radio silence since June 26.

I'm not sure if I'm happy or upset that I get to write this essay.

Hopefully you'll get a secondary soon. This is consistent with the earlier comments in the thread that they manually review apps for the 800 non-automatic secondaries starting in November.

sure thing 😉 i think we've learned wayy more about our authobiography through the 30+ questions we answered for all the secondaries 😛 now lets hope we actually get it though, im not too positive here..

yah well seeing as someone else got it, its at least nice to know theres a chance we will and some truth to the 800+ secondaries they send out in nov...though honestly if we get it in say the nxt few weeks, that means we are looking at jan interviews at the earliest more likely march or so? doesnt seem like its good chances for us regardless.

It is an online survey. Someone from admissions should send you the link in an email.

Exactly how I felt, but once you start writing your essay, it actually flows out pretty easily. You'll probably run right into the limit without noticing. Anyway! Yay for November!

UGH... there was a message from the UCSD school of medicine at our machine today. Except after trudging through about 10 old messages, I hear,

"Hello this is the UCSD school of medicine..." 😱 and then it's a message about some class for my sister (who is a nurse).

I'm still on hold...

So I keep going there (Friday, Saturday, and today (Sunday) and have been trying multiple browsers, but it but it does not yet indicate on that status page that I have been approved yet and there is no button for me to click on to go to a secondary/supplemental application like in the UCLA and UCI status pages.....has this happened to anyone else? 🙁

This is n = 1, but I was able to log into my secondary minutes after receiving the invitation. You may want to call their office if it doesn't work again today.

I have no idea either, and I also have an interview for February. I got the invite in October, which I thought is relatively early in the process. Maybe they just take a huge break over the winter? haha

good luck! I'd call now if you are itching to know. If they know Brian will tell you, and if he doesn't he will tell you when he will know... or you could be patient and wait for the call/email, either way I'm rooting for you.

This is going to drive me crazy! Called and Brian told me that my interviewer has been out ill, and JUST turned in my evals. Looks like I have to wait till the 11/30 meeting. Sigh. . . more waiting.
