Please be confident. Even if you are waitlisted it is better than a rejection. Tomorrow is your day seize it and savor it. Next year this time we will be laughing, drinking, and studying together.

So I think I will be on a plane or in an interview when REL calls regarding the adcom's decision (post-interview) next Friday/Saturday. If he calls and I can't answer, does he usually leave a message to call back, or does he say what the decision is on the voice message? I am really excited about hearing from this school!!
 
Thanks girl, I hope you are right. Im going to be on another interview tomorrow too, so I guess I am just really nervous. You're so fabulous, but I am sure you know that. Im sure we would get along just well.

The groups that were reviewed last night by the Committee interviewed on 10/23 and 10/30. Due to today's schedule, calls cannot be made until this evening at the earliest, in fact I expect to make most of the calls on Saturday.
 
Thanks REL! It is truly wonderful that you are so candid with us... I wish all schools were like this. I look forward to your call (as long as its an acceptance- LOL)
 
Yeah his call came at about 8:30 pm with a florida area code. As soon as he identified himself my heart sank I swear I could not understand him at first because of my mind racing. i hope everyone gets a positive call saturday.

Yes the calls will be today and, of course, as luck would have it AMCAS is doing some trouble-shooting and suggests that the system would be down until at least 2pm, maybe 5pm, ergo I cannot get phone numbers. So whenever I get the numbers, each will be called later this afternoon it would seem.

REL, do you know when the committee meets to decide who they will offer interviews to? It seems like it has been awhile since any have been offered.

I am joining fb i dont know how 2 add pics i will get my students 2 show me. I just started my own fb. Im telln youll now i am computer stupid

Once you get your FB account set up, you should be able to just click on the link from my above post and join the group. There should be a tab that says "join" to the right of the title.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I was shocked when Dr. Larkin told me. I came out of a performance my friend was starring in so I missed his call. I look forward to meeting all of you accepted here. And faith2 I have not had a chance to pop bottles, I am still doing homework as I am writing this. It is killing me. Soon though. Cheers.
 
Waitlist. Middle of Middle third. So disappointed!!!! I should have said, "No your on my waitlist- I have four" lol
 
At least you know that you will definetely be in med school somewhere next year.

No, I don't. No acceptances. Four waitlists. Not looking too good for me.
 
Sorry about that TakeMe. There is still hope though! Is there any pattern to the people UCF has accepted right away? For example, are they mostly high stats, good interviews, exceptional EC's, or a combination of all aspects? Since the final decision is made on a point system I am a bit worried that my MCAT (27) will drastically drop my overall score. By the end of this week I guess I will find out, regardless lol.

I am coming up to orlando in Feb, and once a month since. I want to start looking for housing and day care. About how far is the med school from the UCF campus please? I hope to start my lease June first. Do we also get a white coat ceremony, if so does anyoneknow the date?

Mapquest says it's 21 miles from the center of the main UCF campus to the intersection of 417 and Lake Nona Blvd. The new campus is just south of 417 at the Lake Nona Blvd exit. I was just there last week visiting my folks and there's lots of stuff by the new campus. Lake Nona is a thriving area. There are apartments, townhomes and houses. I think there's also some daycare places there and a YMCA.

I'm sure there's going to be a white coat ceremony, but haven't heard anything official.

If I remember correctly, the acceptance letter we got referenced Aug 3rd as the first day, but Mr Larkin would be the one with the most correct information.
 
My interview for this school is tomorrow. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I hope they really like me. This is my top choice. Being an orlando native, I would love to go here. Hopefully, everything goes well and I will be "popping bottles" with faith 2 and ftrflyr29.

Best of luck! The most recent interview feedback is pretty much exactly how my interview went. The day is great!

Has anyone received a call from REL tonight with a the committee's decision? For my interview group, I think he said we would hear by tonight or tomorrow. I interviewed on Nov. 2nd.
 
I had my interview at UCF today and it was as good as everyone has said it was.

I felt my two interviews went really well, but you never know with this process since it is really competitive to get in to UCF.

Unfortunately, I was not feeling good at all today. I barely slept the night before because of anxiety/excitement. As a result, I was lethargic and had a headache the whole day. My contacts were irritating me so I had to take them off, but my eyes were bloodshot and so dry. I was rewetting them with eye drops the whole day.

Anyway, only time will tell and I hope everything goes well.:luck:
 
When u think u r at your worse u are at your best. Try 2 think positive.

The admissions decisions for the Nov 2 group will be done by the committee on Dec 3. This delay is based on the limited number of meetings in November due to AAMC national meetings and of course the Thanksgiving Holidays. The meeting will be Dec 3, and with an interview day on Dec 4, reality is that I will make calls when I can, but probably most will be over the weekend since I will have to use my personal phone.

I remember from my interview Mr Larkin discussing February, but we were on the bus, so I didn't write it down.

--- Second Look is 1.5 days with full day on Friday, April 16 and half day on April 17.

I have butterflies in my stomach, next year can not come fast enough. I really need to get my UCF COM apparel. Do we have to dress up for second look weekend, or is it casual? I did not forget about the FB I am waiting for someone to email me pictures. 😍😍

As for the apparel update....I am finding UCF, and Knights apparel but not school of medicine. Is there a UCF COM logo apparel?

I think they interview every week. I am not sure when the last interviews will be before the holidays. Did you apply here?

Faith, thanks for your response! Firstly, congrats on your acceptance! I was truly so happy reading this thread and seeing your path lead to awesome success; it's very refreshing and exciting.

Yes, I did apply here--I'm so impressed by UCF and am honored to be going through this process! I'm an OOS, however, and don't have amazing numbers, by any means, so to tame my patience, I was trying to gauge when invitations for interviews are usually made. I haven't heard anything re an interview for some time now, but I shall keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best!
