i submitted my secondary on the 15th and they still haven't downloaded my letters?? 😡

in the same boat, submitted on the 13th. All my other schools downloaded it almost immediately.
i called in and the admissions officer downloaded and completed my application on the spot. might be worth it to call, be extra polite, and get it over with.
Where are you guys finding your status at? I submitted my secondary this past weekend and cannot find anywhere if I'm complete. I am able to see where it says "view application summary" and it says they have everything. However, I am unable to see anywhere it says application status: under review like one of the previous posters above.

I was their very first submission (on the 2nd) and they still haven't processed it.
Thats what I was thinking of doing, but I keep telling myself "maybe tomorrow" everyday for the last few days... dumb procrastination

just fyi for anyone applying before mcat scores are released - they won't send a secondary until they get your scores
I am having the same problem. I had NO idea about their BESS reqs. I put down psych and principles of sociology but that is all I have. I e-mailed them to see if i could put a philosophy class because their instructions say they may accept other classes
But then there is that weird part about having to have two courses in the same area of study...😕 anyone else know anything about this??yes u need 2 in the same area. Even if they count your philosphoy class it wont matter. Im in the same situation, i have 4 classes that can count for the req but all are in different areas, i have to take a CC class to fill that req. My status wasn't compelte until I called them. A nice lady asked a few questions and later my online status says "complete". YAY!!! 🙂

The Behavioral/Social Sciences requirement doesn't have to be completed prior to applying, just before matriculation correct? I have taken general psych and economics already, and am registered for brain and behavior this fall, I'll be okay right?

What do you mean? OOS students get reviewed, interviewed and accepted like everyone else, except OOS'ers pay like 3x the tuition. 🙁
yes.
most schools dont even d/l your lors until after u submit the 2ndary. I would not worry. LORs are going to affect whether or not you are complete, not whether or not you get a 2ndary

yeah. Mine said "applicant in progess" for like a week. Then I called them on thursday 7/23 and a nice lady asked me a few questions and made copies of certain things. Then she said to check my status and 5 min later...it said complete. Maybe you should give them a call?
I thought applicant in progress was supposed to be further along then complete? like actually under review?

Yes. That's what people have been saying. It doesn't mean you're any "further", per se. A file can go from "Application in Process" to "Applicant in Process" at any time.
Yes but it is pretty low cutoffs. But I think I read they will not send it out if you dont have a MCAT score yet.

No, since there is a fee associated with the supplemental application, we send it only to applicants we are seriously considering for admission.

ok now I feel A LOT better about UIC. The 2009-2010 MSAR is wrong then. I acutally have a shot at UIC.🙂
they basically end up sending it to everyone id assume, they have such an incredibly low threshold for who gets a 2ndary. Maybe zip can come along and give the exact numbers but i remmeber it being very low

1. For the employment history, does that strictly mean paid employment or is it just there to evaluate how much time u devoted to certain activities? Would volunteering count in this section?
2. Being an RA is a year round job where you're expected to be responsible for your residents 24/7 (at least at the school I went to) and responsible for a lot more students when you're on duty. What would you put in terms of hours / week, when it comes to something like that?

"Employment" typically refers to paid jobs.
You should put the average number of hours per week you were on duty plus time for any floor meetings, etc. The committee knows what RA's are. 🙂

i just got an email here saying "congratulations on your fine performance on the mcat" then something like consider our large MD/PhD program.. 
i take it they are being sarcastic? no wonder it showed up on my spam- my email knew it 😉 😀

its like an auto email to a lot of people. I got that before i even was verified and applied to UIC.i just got an email here saying "congratulations on your fine performance on the mcat" then something like consider our large MD/PhD program..

I just got this email too. It has to be sarcastic considering I ended up with a 27 🙁 and retaking Aug 25. I did apply to U of I though and would love to get in.
