Thanks for the hope. Yea, it looks like we turned it in around the same time. I literally mailed the placement/ deposit same day I received my acceptance. It was delivered to UIC's office the Monday after the Saturday I received my acceptance. I couldn't have done it any faster!
Any chance you will be going anywhere else? haha maybe I'm right behind your spot....
I'm sure I just need to stop freaking out and wait to see what happens. I will probably try to call on Monday and see where I'm at, etc.

Good luck, I hope it works out 👍

Let us know what the admissions office says, if anything.

My "Decision" tab says: Pending- Manual Review Req. 😕 probably no good news, but, ... does anynone know if I can apply just to B.S. of Biology ? Do I create a new application or should I wait for decision first? I don't know if it will be a conflict with my pharmacy application ? Thank you in advance

Pretty much said it was on a first come first serve basis (which based on some posts from last year, I was under the impression this was not the case). So I guess Chicago is filled up (?). She said there was no waitlist or anything and suggested I tour the campuses, maybe I will fall in love with them, and if not my deposit can be refunded haha.

That's an undergrad message on the UIC online application status system. All that means it has to be physically looked at by certain people in the department.

Received an interview invitation today via status page. Complete 9/24, status changed to "Applicant in Process" on 12/14.

Will be interviewing at the Chicago campus very soon. Was told I should be receiving an email with details but have not. Any clue as to when that should arrive?

Beem "applicat in progress" for months now. Come on UIC this is getting old....Complete Sept. didn't take very long to become an "applicant". 😕

..I'm right there with you. Four months of this is torture. 👎 Interview here would be amazing! :xf:

Can anyone give me a synopsis of the UIC curriculum at the chicago campus? Is it organ-based, have small group or just lecture, etc? thanks

I asked all 3 of my interviewers and the tour guides this question, but still don't have a really good answer. It sounds like (at least first year) it's a ton of lecture, then lab. No one commented on small group sessions or anything like that.

so has anyone else picked chicago as their 1) and not been assigned to it?

I have Chicago placement, and barring the financial aid packages from other much more expensive schools, I may be withdrawing soonish. I'll be sure to come back to the thread and tell you exactly when I'm sending the email so one of you can hopefully get my spot if that indeed happens!

I was assigned to Chicago (my #1 choice) a week or so ago, so it is still possible even this late in the game.

Interesting, thanks for the insight! stars still have to align..but its better than nothing.

Strange....I know I am way behind all the other UIC applicants but today I called b/c my status was still that weird " awaiting admissions letter review" and she changed it to "complete" then within an hour it changed to "application in progress" then within 30 minutes it went to "applicant in progress". I have no clue if this is bad or good but I am hoping it is a positive sign.....good luck to everyone

Good sign. Means you're currently under review with committee members looking at your app.

Hahah I'm hoping it is a good sign but then again I am so late I have a feeling it may just be a hasty way of rejecting me . I hope for the best though!

Best of luck to you! Unfortunately I've been an "applicant in progress" since September....

Congrats to all of you who have been accepted to UIC. It is a fantastic school with unparalleled clinical experiences. The administration has improved greatly since I started medical school - a welcomed change. The reputation of the school is gaining yearly and this is evident by where we send our graduates - we match very very well. PM me with specific questions.

OMG! WOW, since September. HAHA well I guess I'll probably be waiting for a while. Is there a deadline where they either have to reject us or invite us for an interview?

Ahh thanks so much for the encouraging words! I am looking forward to starting, and I will certainly take you up on your PM offer if I have any questions. Thanks so much! 🙂

I have had everything submitted to UIC since September, and my status has stayed "Application is in Process" ever since. Any ideas?

Status just changed to:
"A final decision was made on your application on 01-21-10. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

Have people determined that this means acceptance?? Or could mean rejection...😱

Could be either. Waitlist status appears immediately. All final decisions are mailed. :xf:

On my interview date (12/18), the dean said that, at this point, we would either be accepted or kept for further review... So my optimistic self is hoping for an acceptance.

sigh..i also interviewed the 18th..and i still have decision pending so i guess hopes of chicago campus are gone for me.

This doesn't sound like an interview to me!! 🙁

I would guess acceptance as well...nobody on here that has made it out of "decision pending" post interview has commented about being rejected or waitlisted yet. Good luck to you!:xf:

Post interview final decision made is most likely an acceptance. Congrats!!

Pre-interview final decision made, unfortunately, sounds to me like a rejection. Good luck with rest of your applications.

I checked eager that maybe they would have made a decision (albeit rejection) but noe still "applicant in process"... months and months....

My mom just called me to tell me i had been offered an interview here... they received the letter Dec 23 and just told me today. Thanks parents...

To make things weirder, I had withdrawn a month before they invited me... and they acknowledge this on my status page. there is even a box that says "withdrawn before offer?" yes. so strange...

For all those that have been accepted, did any of you guys get that CBC email yet? I read in previous posts that it wasn't going to be sent out until this month... so you couldn't really use that to determine whether a 'final decision' update (post-interview) meant an acceptance.

Has anyone got a final decision update (post-interview) up to this point and gotten rejected? or know anyone that has?

just trying to figure out the likely possibilities. thanks in advance

Yeah I got the CBC a couple days after January first and I was accepted in October. Nobody has posted on sdn to my knowledge about a post-interview rejection so far...but obviously sdn isn't indicative of the entire applicant pool

interview invite for this coming Tuesday by phone on Friday evening. talk about short notice!

Should I have received some additional information after I scheduled my interview, or is it just what we're told over the phone and what was in the invitation letter?

I got a letter and an email. It doesn't really tell you anything about the interview though except where to show up.
