Can anyone give me a synopsis of the UIC curriculum at the chicago campus? Is it organ-based, have small group or just lecture, etc? thanks
Thanks for the hope. Yea, it looks like we turned it in around the same time. I literally mailed the placement/ deposit same day I received my acceptance. It was delivered to UIC's office the Monday after the Saturday I received my acceptance. I couldn't have done it any faster!
Any chance you will be going anywhere else? haha maybe I'm right behind your spot....
I'm sure I just need to stop freaking out and wait to see what happens. I will probably try to call on Monday and see where I'm at, etc.
Let us know what the admissions office says, if anything.
My "Decision" tab says: Pending- Manual Review Req. 😕 probably no good news, but, ... does anynone know if I can apply just to B.S. of Biology ? Do I create a new application or should I wait for decision first? I don't know if it will be a conflict with my pharmacy application ? Thank you in advance
That's an undergrad message on the UIC online application status system. All that means it has to be physically looked at by certain people in the department.
Beem "applicat in progress" for months now. Come on UIC this is getting old....Complete Sept. didn't take very long to become an "applicant". 😕

Look through all the weeks. That's the schedule and gauge what you think of it. I personally think its really random, but incredibly intense at times.
interview invite. woohoo 😛
so has anyone else picked chicago as their 1) and not been assigned to it?
I was assigned to Chicago (my #1 choice) a week or so ago, so it is still possible even this late in the game.
Good sign. Means you're currently under review with committee members looking at your app.Strange....I know I am way behind all the other UIC applicants but today I called b/c my status was still that weird " awaiting admissions letter review" and she changed it to "complete" then within an hour it changed to "application in progress" then within 30 minutes it went to "applicant in progress". I have no clue if this is bad or good but I am hoping it is a positive sign.....good luck to everyone

Best of luck to you! Unfortunately I've been an "applicant in progress" since September....
Congrats to all of you who have been accepted to UIC. It is a fantastic school with unparalleled clinical experiences. The administration has improved greatly since I started medical school - a welcomed change. The reputation of the school is gaining yearly and this is evident by where we send our graduates - we match very very well. PM me with specific questions.
Could be either. Waitlist status appears immediately. All final decisions are mailed.Status just changed to:
"A final decision was made on your application on 01-21-10. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."
Have people determined that this means acceptance?? Or could mean rejection...😱

On my interview date (12/18), the dean said that, at this point, we would either be accepted or kept for further review... So my optimistic self is hoping for an acceptance.

My status has changed from:
Applicant in progress --> Application in progress --> Then today it change to:

This doesn't sound like an interview to me!! 🙁
Pre-interview final decision made, unfortunately, sounds to me like a rejection. Good luck with rest of your applications.
For all those that have been accepted, did any of you guys get that CBC email yet? I read in previous posts that it wasn't going to be sent out until this month... so you couldn't really use that to determine whether a 'final decision' update (post-interview) meant an acceptance.
Has anyone got a final decision update (post-interview) up to this point and gotten rejected? or know anyone that has?
just trying to figure out the likely possibilities. thanks in advance

Should I have received some additional information after I scheduled my interview, or is it just what we're told over the phone and what was in the invitation letter?
