Has anybody received one of those "We have not reached a decision on your application" e-mail yet this month? I haven't gotten one (which is usually a good sign), but I haven't seen any updates on my status either.

Still decision pending for me too and no email this month. Interviewed in November and have been getting "no decision" emails every month except for this one.

Has anybody gotten UMed interview invites?
It looks like the second look day is only three weeks away 😛

I've been getting those emails since my interview in September also, but I haven't gotten it yet this month either. Good luck, though. I hope you get in, even if you have to wait another month!

I received an interview invite a couple of days ago. The interviews are taking place during second look day.

So I interviewed back in January (1/24) in peoria and kept getting the "we haven't made a decision yet" emails so i pretty much gave up on uic. Since i got into another school i wasn't too worried. But then i looked in my mail today and saw a big white envelope from uic! 😀 After months of reviewing i guess they finally decided to let me in. So for others that are still waiting for post-interview news, don't lose hope! And i might not end up here so one of you guys could take my spot...either way, good news 😉

i'm in the same boat, interviewed end of jan as well. I haven't received "we haven't made a decision yet" email either. BUT my status page still says "decision pending". Did your status page change? and you didn't receive any emails? Just the package in the mail?

Interesting. There's also no date as to when the decision was made. The full text reads, "A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone." Maybe it's just a place holder?

She was rejected post-interview. Letter was post-marked 3/29. Good luck to all of y'all in the process!

I hadn't been checking my status cuz i was actually expecting a rejection letter but i just checked it and it says:

"A final decision was made on your application on 03-25-10. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

And I didn't get an email just the package in the mail postmarked 3/29

Hey Everyone,

I interviewed 1/20 and my status changed this past monday,3/29, that a decision was made. Yesterday I received a packet in the mail offering me a post-bac seat! Very excited since this was my top choice and only acceptance. Watch out for post-bac offers possibly.

:laugh:Class of 2015:laugh:

Just got the acceptance letter today, but I'm freaking out about something: one of the requirements is you have to get a "C" or better in all classes taken after submitting to AAMCAS or provide a letter explaining why. I got a C- in one class, which I am aware is unacceptable, but I am really hoping it doesn't kill my chances of getting in. It's the only C- I've ever gotten, and I know, I'm such a bonehead. Anyone familiar with such a situation or anyone who wants to provide feedback would be much appreciated.

I also had the decision made 3/29 and haven't received anything yet, they just brought the mail.

Can anyone tell me what is the last date to interview for UIC? How many spots are left? What is the date of "second look day?"

I was just given access to the student portal by the OSFA, and I noticed that the furthest tab along the top says "COM Chicago," but nowhere does it say "COM Urbana-Champaign." I haven't been given my campus placement yet and am dying to find out. Does this mean I've been placed at the Chicago campus or does everyone's look like this (even if you're placed in Urbana-Champaign)? Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Thanks!

I also have COM Chicago and was just accepted. I just returned the card on Friday so I'm sure I have not been placed yet. Everyone probably has this.

Has anyone gotten any scholarship offers here yet? (not including oos tuition waivers)

nope, i spoke to someone at the OSFA last week and he said it was unlikely that i'd get a scholarship even though my EFC is zero. i did get an OOS fee waiver however, which i'm very thankful for and really can't ask for much beyond that. i am under the impression that you can apply for some UIC scholarships once you're a student (for the 2011-2012 academic year).

What about the possibility of any merit scholarships being handed out. When I talked to admissions earlier they said April would be the month they let people know.

I got my FAFSA award letter a few weeks ago (I submitted late February), and they just gave me all the federal loans to cover the tuition, fees, and living expenses. So I'm assuming I got no awards or merit scholarships.

Unless of course thats a separate process?

Did anyone get their campus placement results without having turned in their immunizations form or background check?

(I haven't received notice for my CBC yet as I just got my acceptance packet in the mail last week). I turned in my campus placement immediately and was wondering if I'm likely to hear back..

Did you include your parent's info on the FAFSA? I was under the impression that you would only get need based aid if you included your parents info.

I definitely got my placement without having turned in my immunizations form. I think my background check had not yet been done, so you should get your placement before CBC notification.

I will probably not send back the immunization form until I am decided on UIC, because of the cost of titers!

I did include my parent info. According to the guy I spoke to at the OSFA, most accepted applicants have an EFC of zero because most don't have extensive employment history.

So I was invited yesterday by phone to the Peoria campus this Thursday [told me that this is the only date they can give and if I was listening correctly...also one of the last ones]....this whole time I thought they silently rejected me since I was never even appliCANT in review....only application in review this whole time...but then this happens....

anyways...any advice for me?

anyone joining me there on that day?

what do you think my chances are of getting in this late?

thanks everyone....this is the most emotionally and physically roller coaster week of my life!!!!!! all personal problems, school is sucking right now and two day to get to peoria from Chicago with no public transportation :boom:

Did the guy actually look up your fin aid application? It sounds like he thinks your EFC was zero not including your parents, why else would he mention employment history? I think you will get some sort of aid, I also have an EFC of zero including parent info.

Edit: I was reading somewhere that some schools don't take EFC into consideration but instead look directly at how much your parents make. Just something to think about.

so does anyone know if we get notified of aid via snail mail in addition to whatever is on the internet page?

hey! congrats on your interview. i have no idea how many spots they have left, but if they gave you an interview then obviously they like you! 👍

just be yourself and you'll do great. good luck! :luck:

I am not sure if it varies depending on campus, the first year classes at the Chicago campus is set to begin on Monday, August 16th.

Okay thanks! I'll be at the Champaign campus. Wonder if it's the same....

Thank you for the encouragement, this is my last hope and so I hope this works out!:xf:

does anybody have any more recent updates about how many spots are left for interviews?
:scared:

I am currently on the waiting list for the RMED program. Anyone know when they will do something with the wait list? I interviewed at the end of January. Thanks for the help.

Jessica, from my understanding they have finished interviews or are almost done. I am very sorry about this, but thats what I've been hearing

Accepted in October... still haven't received financial aid award yet. 😕 anyone else in the same situation?

If you log onto the banner type service for UIC, you should be able to access your award letter. Try logging on here:

https://my.uic.edu

... haven't heard anything about scholarships, though. 🙁

I mean... I haven't gotten my TCN/UIN either. It was not on my acceptance letter... 🙁

There is no separate process for merit-based scholarships. Very few people get them--and, probably due to the financial situation of the state and the entire University of Illinois system, I would expect there to be even fewer this year. (Don't quote me on this--it's just a guess.)

The majority of people have federal loans (some subsidized--but the majority are unsubsidized). No matter your EFC, UIC usually allows you to take the maximum amount of loans, if you so wish.

Just graduated in May though and they cancelled my stuff, lol

I keep getting an error message when I access the award letter page. It also says "Note: Unless you have received email notification that your award letter is available for viewing, you will not be able to access your Award Letter."
...so there's no way to access financial aid information? Has anyone received anything through the mail about it?
