Tell me about it. I think the relaxed atmosphere of the interview day gave me a false impression of how everything went. Originally I thought it was great and I was anticipating a reasonable shot of acceptance. But now everytime I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the most likely decision for me next week is a straight rejection. And I'm not saying that to be overly dramatic. Honestly, at this point, an acceptance seems like such a remote possibility. It's making me kind of depressed.

Eek. Hopefully they'll get to my Under Review application sooner rather than later.

If you interviewed before 10/15 then will you definitely hear some sort of decision (accept, waitlist, reject) on 10/15? Or can you just hear nothing and they'll consider you later?

They told us that they make decisions within 2 weeks of the interview date, except for those interviewing more than 2 weeks before Oct. 15 (they would hear on Oct. 15). Therefore, if you interviewed on Oct. 14, for example, you would hear back by Oct. 28. I doubt they would have your decision by the 15th, but it's certainly possible. I wouldn't count on it though.

Can we fire the half asses, who can't catch a football thrown directly at them???? What a humiliation! AdCom can you guys look at an applicant's football catching capability rather than their GPA & MCAT's 😀
 
I should have applied sooner here. It looks like it's getting tougher from here on out.

haha yeah I actually interviewed in september... I was just wondering if we can expect to hear A decision on 10/15 or if it's possible that we could simply hear nothing (meaning that they'll keep considering our app in future reviews)
 
If the interview is so conversational and stress-free, how do they rank applicants post-interview? They still have to cut 50% of the interviewees. Hmm...

That is possible. At the interview, they told us that they may defer your decision until Dec. But everyone who gets notified on 10/15 will know either:
1. Acceptance
2. Rejection
3. Waitlist
4. Deferred until Dec.
 
For anyone who's been there recently, are they still planning on updating our status pages at midnight on the 15th?

I don't think they update status pages... I think they give a midnight call to people who've been accepted and then everyone else gets snail mail

Oh then I don't know. I thought i remembered them saying status pages would change at midnight, and there would probably be emails, and maybe a few calls. But who knows, that was a while ago.
 
My file has been complete since 9/17 (a little later than I would have liked). My status has been stuck on "under review" ever since. Anyone else?
 
"At this point we are not able to offer you an interview."

Does this mean a hold?
 
so people in CA will get email a few hours before midnight? October 14 around 9 pm then?
 
oh, i was on their adcom last year, and we .... 😉

oh wait, i'm just applying. sorry, i don't think we applicants know all the specifics/answers yet.
 
heres what I know and If you look at last years thread, its probably true.

that is their interview/admissions committee schedule, you'll get your decision right after the committee meeting ends (unless before october 15th).

For those who are expecting a decision, on october 15th midnight (eastern time) youll get your decision, which supposedly (if accepted) is presented through a video.

Some people's decisions will be deferred til december - If you look at last years thread, most of these people were eventually waitlisted, then eventually rejected. Even though it says "Highly Desirable" its most likely a waitlist.

Almost no one will get directly rejected after an interview.Just either accepted, deferred, or waitlisted.

I hope you all get to see that video come tomorrow night.
 
anyone know what the cut off was for an auto-interview? just curious

So does it mean that we are not accepted if we don't receive email from them by 1230am eastern time? It makes me don't want to open internet explore ( I set yahoo to be my homepage)🙁🙁
 
Whaaat? They told us it'd all be announced at 12:00:01 on the dot...they shouldn't make the non-acceptees wait all night on pins and needles for a status update the next day. That's not nice.

Oh f&*#!!! I just got a text from U of M saying to check my email, but I don't have any new emails.. yet. OHHHHH MMYYYY GOOODDDD. This better not be some practical joke or mistake.
