GPA

What is the minimum GPA I need to apply?
Our average science (BCPM) GPA is 3.8 and our average MCAT is 31P (as stated in the 2010-2011 AAMC MSAR http://www.aamc.org/students/applying/msar.htm). The further your GPA and/or MCAT score is below the average, the more difficult it is to be considered acceptance.

Actually USF's average is a 31! here is the site-

ever since the mcat has been computerized in 2006 people are taking it more often all the the medical school stats have been going up. I guess more talented student have been choosing usf due to great location and amazing recent match lists! 🙂

congrats to those admitted! hope usf speeds up...
 
looking at the stats i see that usf admitted 37 of their undergrads/ grads student into their program. I hope they show me some love soon 😎
 
Interview invite on Friday, 11/13. Tried to call and set it up but it was already past business hours when I got the email. Does anybody know if they have spots open for the day before Thanksgiving?
 
Anyone else hear back from USF, after their interview, beside Dingy? I'm curious to see if they are getting back to everybody about 3 weeks after the interview... regardless of their decision.

A girl who interviewed with me got her call within minutes of mine.
 
I am interviewing here on Tuesday- very excited! Any tips??? Are they being picky with their interviews (i.e. interviewing candidates that they plan on accepting)?

Go to the student dinner the night before. Yes.
 
😀 I will be going to the Student Dinner, if I can make it. I am driving from the Ft. Lauderdale area and I don't get out of work until three. I will be all-packed, so assuming traffic is good, I will be there.

I am so excited about USF!!!! Hopefully an acceptance will follow!

Went to my interview yesterday! It was fabulous! The school was amazing and the students seemed truly happy! There seems to be EXCELLENT clinical exposure and opportunities to do whatever you wish once you are there. The scholarly concentrations look quite interesting as well. They said it could take 2-8 weeks to hear back, especially since the holidays are approaching. I wish I could hear back sooner!

As far as the actual interviews, they were really relaxed. I was interviewed by a fourth year and I felt like it was more of one of those meet and greet sessions where you get to talk to the students. I think I may have asked her more questions than she asked me, I am not sure if that is good or bad though.

I am hoping for an acceptance!

Awfully quiet in here lately...anything new with anyone who applied here? I'm still waiting to here from them, although I wasn't complete until 11/16, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I'm still waiting...probably will be for another month.

I think USF is just plain slow. Must be the new admissions people.

Glad I'm not the only one. My file was complete 11/23 and I haven't heard anything either. I agree not expecting anything before the holidays. GL 😀

Complete Sept 14, Invite Oct 30 for Dec 8th interview.
 
I'd really like to hear back from USF before Christmas (interviewed 11/24). I have a lofty deposit due the 26th and USF is on the top of my Christmas wish list!

I don't have my spreadsheet at home with me, but I believe I was complete around last week of July/first week of August.
 
Hey guys, i had an interview late october, but still havent heard back yet. This is my Number one choice too! So anxious!! Has anyone heard back from them yet..seems like no one has...

i interviewed 11/3 and was accepted. there are a handful of others here on sdn that were accepted as well, but yeah usf seems to be taking their time :luck:
 
Interview invite from USF last week...I'm really grateful to get an invite, but at this point, once I get an interview set up, would I just be interviewing for the waiting list? I keep hearing that USF is just running slow this year, so I'm hoping that is the deal. I've never spent much time in Tampa, but I hear it's a nice city!

It's is highly unlikely that 1. the class is already filled, and 2. that a majority of those holding acceptances currently will end up matriculating.
 
I went to the mailbox today expecting nothing but bills (as it is two days before Christmas) and instead found a large, envelope from USF! Accepted!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!

hm, i interviewed in late october....and haven't heard anything from them. What do you guys think is going on?
 
I'm in the same boat, don't really know whats going on
