Meh, I was complete 8/2 and I still have no status button. Blame it on IT? Call the office? Choices...

Oops, guess I posted too soon. I just received my complete email. I checked my email log, and I submitted the secondary on 7/25.

LOL. How did you end up receiving the complete e-mail on the same day as some of us who sent in the 2ndary on 07/15? I find that amusing.

Maybe they saw 7/25 and thought 7/15. 😉 I don't know. I didn't even apply for the primary to this school until 7/20. It's definitely not because I'm overqualified. This is one of my, "let's just throw 100 bucks away and pray" schools.

wow another awful loss for me- I applied on 6/29! dam!

I submitted my secondary 3+ weeks ago...still no complete email. I don't understand.

There are often long wait times between when you apply and when you hear back from a school. There is no need to worry. They will process your application when they get to it and will give you an interview if they want. That his how pretty much every school works. You send in your application. Then you wait.

Yeah, but usually schools don't have a long gap between submission and the completion email. That's all I'm wondering about.

I understand. If it makes you feel better, I submitted the secondary on 7/18 and got the complete email today...yours should be coming soon.

I submitted end of June.. still not complete and I think that tops it all

I don't get it, Einstein accepts international students. But it requires me to provide a US mailing address? I can't move forward without filling out something in that space.

And not to mention the lady at the admissions number is awfully rude...

so i just received an email that said this:

"Unfortunately, some of your letters of recommendation have not been submitted on offical letterhead, and may be missing a signature."

Then it lists which letter it is referring to.

The professor submitted the letter to AMCAS via the letter writer application. I am going to ask her to resubmit- should I have her mail it in this time? Also, do you think this has also been a problem with other schools and I am just not aware of it yet?

Thanks for any help

I'm not too familiar with the AMCAS LOR system, but I'd contact her, inform her that AECOM told you _______. Tell her you'd appreciate it if she could resubmit it via ___________ (whichever is the fastest, yet reasonably convenient method for her--idk if they take electronic submission like via scanned copy or something).

Maybe someone else can chime in...

Good luck though!

just curious were you already marked as complete?

I emailed the prof to resubmit, so hopefully it goes through fine this time.

Yeah, I had already received a complete email, though no "status" button.

Secondary submitted on 7/24, complete today 8/20

Man that took a long time :annoyed:

Yea, I submitted around the same date as you and got the complete email today. No status button either.

However, when I called the office last week to ask if there's something wrong with my app, they said they sent me a complete email on 8/10. I didn't get anything and my spam folder has been empty. So, I'm not sure what's going on...

Complete today as well. Secondary sent in 7/27 (after some confused calls from the admissions office asking if I knew that it hadn't gone through the first two times), and committee packet sent on 8/3. I guess that was relatively speedy.

I received an e-mail saying:

You have successfully completed the Secondary Application.

Thank you for your interest in Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Is that the e-mail you guys are referring to? Do they send out another e-mail saying your entire application is complete?

I'm not sure if I should be waiting for an interview e-mail or not based upon this.

That's not the complete email. You'll get another one, which I haven't received yet 🙁

Submitted 7/12, complete 8/13, interview invite this morning (8/23). I have an MDApps if anyone wants to compare stats. Congrats and good luck to everyone.

Is anyone else staying with a student during the interview? They just gave me the student housing information and I've been put together with a student of the opposite sex. Is that normal?

A friend of mine had that happen during this cycle---I wouldn't be too worried about it! 🙂 Unless you're completely 100% opposed to the idea..think of it as your boyfriend or girlfriend without any of the emotional or physical "interaction"...It's just another person you're staying with..not like they're going to say "you're more than welcome to sleep in my bed (with me)!"

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a mistake or just the way it is.

Interview! Complete 8/20, got the invite this morning. Feeling good.

Congrats!

I submitted one day after you. They sent me a complete e-mail one business day after you. I'm hoping for good news tomorrow.

For those of you who have received interviews (Congrats!! 😀), how are you planning to get from the airport to the campus/hotel?

It looks like the bus will be the easiest (cheapest) way to go, if you aren't going to one of their pre-selected hotels which offers shuttle service.

Catch the M60, which stops at the airport, and take it to 125th St. and 3rd Ave. Walk to 122nd St. and 3rd Ave. and pick up the BxM10, which drops you off at campus. Total trip cost is either $5.50 or $7.75... not sure how transferring to an express bus works exactly, but it's cheap.

I am flying into JFK on Sunday morning. I'm probably going to walk around Manhattan for fun that day and then go to campus in the evening. I used Google Transit to plan my route--I'm going to take the subway to Jamaica-Queens...and transfer onto a bus to take me into Manhattan. From there, I'll just "navigate" around til I get to 3rd street, where I think the BxM10 starts...something like that.

Google Transit in the Maps function is your friend! If money isn't an issue and you don't want to see the city, you could just take a car service from either of the airports. It'll run you about 40-60 bucks, not a huge amount to pay in the big scheme of things 🙂

Whoops! The airport I'm referring to is LGA.

You can take the E train from the airport straight into Manhattan. It'll put you at 53rd and 5th, and the BxM10 stops at 52nd and Madison (one block east, one block south).

Oh awesome, Thanks! Google didn't give me that option...It says to go via AirTrain to Jamaica Station first.

Ah, that's what I meant. Sorry. :smack: I'm so used to including AirTrains in my airport experience that I neglected to mention it.

But yeah, the E train runs from Jamaica.

Oh, maybe you can help me then. This is my first time in NYC...how hard is it to "get off the airtrain" and find the E train? Are there signs that'll direct me there? Thanks in advance for your input! 🙂

Very simple. 🙂 There will be signs.

Thanks a billion, T1R3KO! For this one and the earlier route as well! Sorry to put you through the trouble since I totally forgot that there was such a thing as Google Transit :smack:

Asyouwereatrio - are you staying with a student host? I'm also arriving on a Sunday, and that isn't problematic if you want to stay with a student host, right?

No problem -- I had to look up directions anyway, I'll be coming in from Manhattan. 😛

when are you guys scheduling your interviews? did any slots in september open up? or is it in november?

I don't think interviewing early has as much of an effect at Einstein, considering that they don't accept until January.
