I was in a similar situation, called this morning found out I got in, but just got the call from Dr. Quinn now. Congrats to everyone who is getting in, hopefully I'll see some of you there next year. I fell in love with the school when I interviewed there last year, so pumped to be accepted this year.

Hello,

I haven't got a call yet from anyone but I called the admissions office to find out that they are offering me an admission.🙂
Don't hesitate to call because they are very nice.
I am from California and I interviewed on September 3rd if anyone is curious. 😉

For those of you waiting to interview here, It's really an amazing school and I interviewed at two other schools but it was BY FAR the best organized. Don't be scared that you are interviewed by two people separately - it seemed as though everyone was treated very nicely and I loved my interviewees (Dr. Nipper and an M4 student) personally.
I didn't expect much from Creighton when I sent in my primary but after the interview, I seriously fell in love with the school. There really is nothing to worry about, so be yourself!

After the interview, I sent updates and thank-you cards to show them that I was very interested in the school. That might be a good idea because the school seemed to emphasize how much they love to hear from their applicants.

I typed too much but really, GOOD LUCK to everyone and for those accpeted, RAISE YOUR GLASSES! (I already had a glass of wine)

Aww I missed the call!

But I did call in around lunchtime and found out already. 😛

Yayayayayayayay I'm gonna be a doctor!!!

Interviewed late Aug.

Alternate 🙁
Congrats to anyone who got in. I really fell in love with the school so I guess I'll keep bugging them

If you interviewed in September and haven't gotten a phone call yet, is it safe to say you're on the waitlist (or rejected)? Anybody get notified by mail only without a phone call?

I interviewed in late September and was told they wouldn't have a decision yet until early November

I interviewed late September too and got the same information about my application not being reviewed for a few more weeks. woa, that made me feel better. I thought I had been waitlisted.

I have not heard from the school since submitting my secondary in early September. I recently received a scholarship for my research work and have been doing more shadowing. Should I consider sending an update letter or do I need to wait until I hear from the school?

I would definitely send an update letter or a letter or intent ... or just call. I called them regarding my status after my secondary and received an interview invite less then a week later. Doubt they are connected, but it's nice showing that you are interested.

Good luck!
:luck:

hmm...i have yet to receive my official letter in the mail. anyone else in the same boat??

still waiting on mine too (california). id really feel a bit better with some hardcopy on it haha

chill people. if the status page says you were accepted and perhaps if you got some type of a phone call or e-mail you're good. the letter will arrive...

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Your stats are obviously great, so I'm sure you'll be accepted at other schools! If you don't mind me asking, did you get a call today and when did you interview?

Waitlist is better then reject. At least if it is not low tier you might still stand a shot to getting in. Sorry to hear though.

how many people get in off the waitlist varies year to year, but last year the list had significant movement (the year before that, barely anything)

there is no "low tier"- the waitlist isn't ranked and there is no movement until after the deadline for holding multiple acceptances in may. at that point every file is reviewed again (with all updates that people have sent in) and as spots open up people get pulled off

it stinks that you can't get pulled off until may, but if creighton is one of your top choices i would call up on a thursday (when the deans/admissions can talk about your file) find out why you were waitlisted (they will be honest- trust me) and send updates regularly

good luck everyone!

accepted today! Called the lady and worked up the courage to finally ask if any decisions were made today. They will be formally calling and mailing out letters later on this week..possibly Wednesday as the lady said.

Stay hopeful and relax! We are all bound to go somewhere 🙂

I interviewed on 9/18...so I'm sure that people who interviewed that day and the week after should be hearing back soon...

I'm also a creighton undergrad, for further clarification 🙂

I interviewed the next interview date after you so I should hear back either this week or next! So exciting! 🙂

:luck:

congrats to everyone that got accepted/interviewed!

i've been complete since 8/10, should I just keep waiting or call up and ask what's my status...

There's a status page, have you looked on it?

I have been complete here since 8/5... I called last week and a very nice lady told me that all she sees is that my app is still being reviewed by the admissions committee.... I asked if they reject ppl pre-interview and she said yes... I guess I'm still hanging in there... its been almost 3 months 😕

Hi all! I called admissions last week and asked about my status. I was complete at the very end of August and was told by Mr. Jarmon (an admissions director) that they are just getting to people who were complete around that time. He said I should hear back in the next few weeks. He also said that you will get an e-mail if you get an interview/rejected, but no e-mail if you are put on hold for re-review. Hope that helps!

Hm, do you think they'll call today for those who interviewed on or pre-9/18? (I'm checking my phone every twenty min)

...or maybe I should be more gutsy and just call and ask...?

Feel free to call and ask. They're super nice. I called this morning asking about my application. Turned out they haven't gotten to my interview date yet.

Interview invite today for the 29th! Kind of surprised me, I haven't heard anything from this school since I submitted my secondary back at the end of July

yaaay! see you there 😀😀😀

That's about the time that I was complete as well. My MCAT isn't very high though, so I don't think I have much of a shot at an interview, and if I do, it will probably be one of those last pick super late in the cycle interviews.

I haven't gotten an outright rejection yet, though, so I assume my application is on hold. Does anyone know if they have a minimum MCAT for interview? My GPA and ECs are great, but I know that doesn't really hold much weight in comparison. I am accepted to a few DO schools, which I really like, but I would kill to go to Creighton. Is it appropriate to call at this point and ask about my application?

Thanks for your input!

For those of you complete 8/3, I wouldnt give up hope just yet. I know they started inviting people complete then the second to last time they sent out interviews, and I just got my invite about a month ago. I have average stats and thought I was passed over until I got my invite. GL to everyone still waiting, but if you sift through last yrs thread, someone called and talked to the Admissions dean and they said you will get an interview if you have a 3.4 sgpa, 28 (I think) and 3.5. You can look though and see what specifically it says, it might make you feel a little better.

I wonder if they consider your best MCAT score or the best combined score... Anyone know?

probably best one/most recent bc if not there is NO way I would have gotten an interview.

🙂

Well, my first score was actually better with the exception of a really low PS score. My bio was super high, though. So, if they look at the best you've EVER done on each section that would be a huge plus for me. Congrats on the interview!

I really made some mistakes in this appication cycle... I should have done more research on the schools I had the best shot at with my score. I was studying abroad in France all summer, so I didn't spend as much time as I should have, and now I'm really regretting it. I really like the DO school I was admitted to but ya know... I do not, however, want to reapply next year if I already have an acceptance.

I completely understand. This is actually my second time around applying. Have you applied to your state school? That is usually your best bet for getting accepted late in the cycle. Last yr. I applied way too late and I think that really hurt me, but who knows. This yr. I applied to 16 schools and have 2 interviews. I guess it only takes one interview to get an acceptance though. 😎

I did apply to MU, but they only give 300 interviews and accept 100 people. I was rejected interview even though I am in state. And I have heard that they accept at least 25 who are MU undergrad. I wish I lived in a state with a less competitive state school!

Congrats on the interview!

At least Creighton accepts application updates, so if I do some more shadowing or get a job at a hospital, i can always add that to my experience.

Yeah Im in the same boat. 1 state school, 2000 applicants 250 seats. If you want to go to Creighton I bet a LOI or update would probably help you get an interview. I am definitely interested in the school but 47K tuition kinda makes me sick.... 👎 I wish they had more scholarships

I interviewed on the 24th too! Did you call or did they call you? What are you stats if you dont mind me asking?

Congrats btw! 🙂
