I think that they are meeting today, and are hoping to get the results released today. The implication being that we might not hear anything until tomorrow. Only two more hours till we know for sure!

Did you call them today? I called them mid-last week. I dont know if they are still on the same timeline.

If I weren't in classes till the end of the day, I would call... Luckily mobile devices allow me to check my email every 2 minutes....

less than an hour to go
:xf:

Who knows? Phoenix is usually fairly good about these things, so I would imagine no later that 5:30 if they are going to come out today.
Of course, earlier this application season I received a personal email (i.e. written by a person and addressed specifically to me regarding my application, not an "automated" email) on a weekday at 7:45pm, so who knows...

I'm glad everyone else here is freaking out as much as I am! I'm not applying until the next cycle, but my peers seem so caviler about being accepted!

Hello all- I received an email from Phoenix around 6:30pm tonight. Accepted.

Best of luck to everyone.

Acceptances already went out? Dang. Congrats to those who have already heard back from UACOM. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed but it's getting harder and harder to keep the faith.

My depression is progressively getting worse with the release dates.

when is the next day they send out acceptances?

I think that Phoenix will be sending out two more waves this month and Tucson will be sending out one wave this month. So somewhere around the 14th (two weeks from now) would be my guess.

I'm still waiting, too 🙁

It is interesting that only one person on SDN was accepted in this wave. Are there any others who were accepted?

Maybe we can assume it was a small wave.

Wow. It is scary that rejections are going out in a month....

I prefer to think that it's exciting that we will get some sort of feedback within a month, guaranteed. 🙂

Thank you! That's a great way to reframe that. And I am excited to finally get a concrete answer on where I stand with each school!

I was accepted in this wave.

I have tried to keep track and I think there were only 4 acceptances sent out this wave.

Congrats to those accepted!

does anyone know roughly how many ppl are accepted at Phoenix on each date?

knowing which days they release acceptances is good...and bad. gives me 9 days to not think about it..and then major anxiety on Feb 10 and 11! haha

ekkk! i would go in less than a heartbeat once accepted! gluck to everyone! :xf:

how did you get this number?

Everyone who has been admitted to phoenix is able to view the new students who are accepted. I believe Phoenix keeps a running list which they make it available to those expected this year. But that is what I gather from reading posts here, and I cant completely verify that.

The list was not completely updated when I checked. I think there were actually 12 acceptances this past round.

And don't let the 67 number get you worried. There is usually pretty good action on the wait list. And I think Tucson still has a lot of spots to fill, at least there have been some logical arguments to suggest this. I was not accepted to Tucson so I can't give any details on that.

Thanks! I am accepted but I def agree to not let it worry anyone! There are still plenty of seats at both campuses!

For sure. After all, getting in to medical school is the 'culmination' of years of hard work and perseverance...and, naturally, it is/will be a dream come true for many of us.

My advice: remain hopeful, but keep plugging away as if you're preparing your application for next season. After all, it wouldn't make sense to not get accepted, and then resubmit the same application next year.

I just wanted to throw my two cents in on this because it is great advice.

Have confidence you will get in, but be practical enough to map out a killer back-up plan.

When I first applied for '09 matriculation I started making back-up plans around this time. I knew I wasn't going to go work for a year with my freshly minted finance degree - this is right when the proverbial flaming dung pile hit the fan in the financial sector. My plan from the start was to do a dual degree in public health. Rather than sitting out a year and re-applying I decided to just move forward with the separate MPH degree. The time commitment ended up being the same (1 year out of school waiting to re-apply + 5 year dual degree program vs 2 year MPH program and 4 yrs of med school). If you are considering a n MPH dual degree this may be an attractive option. Maybe not, but get creative and don't settle for a year of a "just a job" and shadowing.

Anyway, the point is this is great advice from neurojunkie.

Good initiative, it shows dedication

Yep, I have my back-up plan ready! I know I am not a super qualified candidate, so I spent this year working full-time in research, taking more classes, writing more publishable material etc. I also plan on retaking the MCAT and working at Scripps next year if I am not accepted this round.

While I am not assuming that I will be rejected, it is nice to know that I have a plan for the next cycle.

What's your MCAT score (and if it was 30 or above why do you wish to retake)?

It was a 30, but slightly unbalanced. I feel like it will be easier to raise my MCAT than my GPA (since I triple majored in undergrad, I have a TON of credits). Also, when I took the MCAT, I hadn't taken Ochem II, or A/P or Biochem.

Hi Folks,

When I spoke with the folks at Tucson, they said there are 2 waves of acceptance going out in February... one mid-month and one at the end... then rejections. Next week is the last week of interviews for Tucson...

Good luck everyone (now fingers crossed for good news).:xf:

Thank you for passing on the info. Now we get to speculate what constitutes mid-month. 😉

If you get an acceptance in mid february, consider it a sweet sweet valentines gift 🙂

The nice part is that in the next 25 days, there will be four waves of acceptances-2 from each school! And after all of those waves, we'll at least know for sure where we stand (since the rejection/waitlist lists will be released).

Its going to be a great month!

Historically 75% of people accepted at one campus would have an acceptance at the other. But now that admissions at Phoenix is a completely separate process I'm not sure how that would change.

And I think Phoenix is kicking off the first of the waves with acceptances being released tomorrow!

Oh wow! I thought we might hear on the 11th?! You heard tomorrow?
