The school would much rather pull from the waitlist than accept too many students and have over 100 students planning on matriculating in July. The school budget is for just under 100 students.
 
Yah, I was waitlisted here as well. Which is sad, since I went to undergrad here. Don't know what happened.

Sorry to hear that you got waitlisted, mgUCD, but at least you've still got a shot!

If you don't mind me asking: what was your interview date and when/how did they contact you about the decision?

What is it with the UCs? I didn't even get an interview at my undergrad UC.

Stats (3.9+, 36Q, Good ECs including independent research, NCAA Athlete, hospital volunteering, leadership)

It almost seems like the UCs are bias against their own grads.

I interviewed on the first day (9/3) and I was notified by an email in the middle of the night. Super random. Oh well, such is life... I still feel very fortunate to even be waitlisted. California schools do seem to dislike their own... GPA: 4.0, MCAT: 37Q.... no love from Davis.

I'm in this group too. Maybe if we send them some fun-sized Snickers they will take notice of us.
 
Did you guys and gals who got wait-listed all interview on the 1st date? Also did you all find out at the same time (10/23 at night)? Oh and how did they let you know?
 
Interview Invite this week. Looks like March is only date left (for me anyway). MMIs seem intimidating!

Edit: BTW I've been complete since mid-july!!! Long wait 🙂

Interviewed on the first day, notified by a 1am email of the waitlist decision. Have they accepted anyone yet?? I hope deciding to go on the first day of MMI wasn't a bad decision...... So bummed.

Anyone else interview on 9/10 and hear back? I still haven't heard yet....

Haven't heard back anything either post-interview. Anyone know when the committee meets or if they mentioned when they might send out decisions / call with acceptances?

I'm getting really nervous... I haven't received any other interviews..... but I have gotten a few rejections 🙁 ...

But if UC Davis is my only interview and only acceptance, I'll of course be more than thrilled!!! :xf:
 
A friend of mine received the acceptance call yesterday, Tuesday, October 26th. He interviewed on 9/17. I interviewed on 10/1 and have yet to get an update good or bad. I hope this information helps.

😕 Wow you give up easily..it's probably a good thing that you haven't been wait-listed yet...most people haven't heard from earlier interview dates...

well based on the acceptance of a 9/17 interviewer according to patientcare, it seems like ppl who haven't been contacted yet aren't going to have much luck. who knows though, maybe just contacting out of order.. lets hope so!
 
seriously, I wouldn't put so much trust in what u read on here... keep ur head up!

Alexandro, it seems that you are questioning the trustworthiness of what I said. I understand where you are coming from, for you cannot verify anything about who I am or my character. That fact notwithstanding, perhaps you'll accept this reply as a small demonstration of how much I value integrity and fairness.

The post I made was purely to inform others of the current situation, not to discourage others as you seem to imply. As you can see, there are many questions on this thread and very few answers.

That said, Lccjblu, I don't think you have to worry. They probably are updating statuses out of order. If medical schools evaluate applicants out of order for interviews (and they do), then they probably evaluate applicants out of order for acceptances as well. Don't give up!
 
A Friday acceptance would make this weekend AMAZING

When deciding on interview dates, there was only March 11 left. That is quite a wait, but UCD is definitely worth it!

Wait list email sent at 12:01 am... I'm OOS so I guess I don't have too many chances at this school anyways. But I would have loved to go here! 🙂

Oh, yes, I am actually very relieved it's not a rejection. I am just not very sure what my chances are now. I interviewed on Sept. 10.

I interviewed Sept 10 as well. No word yet though. I'm hoping it's a good thing. :whistle:

A long time. This year they said we would hear 1 week after or on Oct 15th..then 2 weeks...then this.
 
Does anyone know if Davis is receptive to post-secondary rejection appeals? I got the dreaded email today, and I really really really want to go to Davis.

I guess it couldn't hurt?

I really liked davis because of their commitment to immigrant health.

Best of luck to everyone else. I'm kind of relieved to finally hear something...since I have been complete for over 2 months.
 
Just call Ed and apparently there are only 21 interview spots left for the last interview day in March, and about 250 applicants competing for those spots......man this is getting intense...
 
Anyone tried calling the admissions office to ask about decisions? At my interview (9/3) they told us they would get back to us by November 1.
