Hello everyone, just wondering if someone can give me some feedback regarding my situation. I have been complete at the school since 9/3 and have yet to hear anything. I also happen to be in-state. Is anyone in the same boat as I am?

I made a similar post earlier on this thread, but now that it's late December, I'm beginning to feel like there is no hope. Should I email them with a "I want to go to your school" message? I have called them a few times, and I am always told to just wait patiently and that my application is under review.

I submitted back in mid to late July and haven't heard anything. If anything, I should be worried. Just sit back and relax. If you hear something from them, you'll hear something from them. If it's the only school you applied to, then start to worry. Otherwise, enjoy your holiday break!

You should also keep in mind that UCLA did not even start interviewing until Nov. 1. and the campus has been closed since the middle of Dec. That's only a month and a half of interviewing whereas other schools have been going since August/Sept.

You've still got plenty of time

I'm in the same situation, in-state, complete 9/15, and haven't heard a peep :/ The only UC I haven't heard from.

UCLA interviews into April, if I recall correctly - pretty late. Therefore, I'm not freaking out just yet.

I'm just hoping being an OOS alum with LORs from Geffen and other schools at UCLA will at least postpone the tossing of my application into the garbage can.
 
Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has encountered the same issue as me. I received my request for secondary information on 11/4/2010, and submitted the supplemental information on 11/7/2010. At that point, on the admission status website, I had "received" beside the supplemental information and the LOR columns. However, today, beside my LOR column, it has changed to "requested". When I click on it, it says that they are requesting my LOR information through AMCAS etc etc.

Anyone else have this happen to them or know what's going on with this? I am assuming it is just a glitch and there isn't a problem, but just curious.

I submitted my secondary in July and just checked my status online, and I have the same "requested" button as you have. I hope that's a good sign, but it is definitely something new within the last week or so.

i got that notification too. wasn't there a few days ago when i checked...
 
I as well. UCLA is gonna be getting a lot of phone calls on Monday.
 
Hey Guys,

Got the same status it must have been up within the last day or so because I have been neurotically checking everyday. Hopefully it is good news maybe they finally got to our apps and are actually reviewing it? 🙂😍
 
I got the requested button as well! anyone figure out what it means yet???

I really hope you guys will wait a few days before flooding them with phone calls. This sounds to me like a very obvious glitch.
 
Hahahahaha...you guys are ridiculous. Stop reading into every.single.glitch. There was clearly some programming error, possibly attributed to the new year date. 🙄
 
Letters requested button: I wouldn't think much of it. AMCAS is down for updates, so to David Geffen it probably looks as though we haven't submitted our letters yet...even though they may have been sitting in the system since august.
 
Just a FYI for those who are considering calling the admissions office today - still closed. Since New Years Day landed on a Saturday this year, it means they have the Monday off. Call tomorrow if you want someone to answer!

rest of ucla had thursday off and is working/has class today...i think ucla is open
 
My LOR just went back to "received" around 1:37 EST. I think that you are bang on with the problem WeAreNotRobots...very likely was due to the fact that AMCAS went down for some time. Anyways...good luck everyone, take care of yourselves.

[sigh] I sure hope there is! IS/UCLA alum and no secondary yet. If I recall correctly from their email message, the last batch of secondaries goes out in February. So...:xf:

Talked to ad office and they basically said to hang tight...

Thanks! Yeah there is hope! I was complete 7/22, and they haven't offered me dates yet. You submit this thing with your availability, and then they are supposed to respond back to you via email with your interview date. I'll post the dates on here when I hear back from them so you can know how far along they are with interviews.
 
Sorry to bother if this is widely-known, but I don't think we've ever gotten an exact answer: are applicants notified of invites by email or just through the status page?

I keep checking the status page periodically, but won't if they'll contact me.

Rejected pre-interview (post secondary) via snail mail... Complete 7/23 IS... Oh, well I've got two CA acceptances already. Good luck to everyone else!

last batch of secondaries out in feb? that seems insane.. i mean even if you return it the next day, say feb 2nd, theyre going to need at least a couple of weeks to review and then interview you in march?

Sigh..same here. Mine was sent out a few days ago, will probably receive it tomorrow. Oh well, to be expected.

Same here. No email notification or anything, just "Letter Sent". I wasn't invited for an interview so I know it's a rejection. Oh well, c'est la vie.
