Got an interview invite today 🙂

No email, status just changed to interview slots, very excited to interview in Chicago!

Marshmallow Congrats! Are you an OOS or IS applicant?
 
anyone have any insight as to what it means if someone's status stays at 'applicant' for 4+ weeks? if they reviewed me and passed me over for an interview it would go back to application .. i feel like my application got lost or something 😕
 
Where are you guys seeing this "applicant" vs. "application" status at? I don't even know how to check the status of my application. Whenever I click their Check Status link it just redirects me to the AMCAS primary app page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Login to this website (https://s443-messieruic-comd-uic-edu.proxauto.comd.uic.edu/appstat/) with your AMCAS ID and the password they emailed you, then click "Next" at the bottom of the first page.

Asyouwere: I'm from CA and have zero ties to IL...but they liked me!! And I love it here at UIC so don't lose hope 🙂

Has anyone that applied here been listed as "Application in process" for an extremely long time? 🙁

I submitted around 7/17 and have been application in progress since...it has never switched to applicant in process.

I politely called to inquire if it is normal to still have application in process and the lady was like "it's still august blah blah blah" but its hard to think i am having a normal application when my 3 friends all have "applicant in process" and they applied towards the end of july...😳

hmm...that does seem like quite a while. i was complete in early august and have been "applicant in process" for a couple weeks.

but maybe the person you talked to is right...it is still kinda early.

I feel you. I've been complete since 7/15 and have been stuck in "application in process". But I guess it is still early, I figure they're going through the super duper amazing candidates first before the super ones 🙂
 
I have always had "applicant in process". I don't think I ever had "application in process". I submitted the secondary 7/21. Anyone else?

Interview invite today! Status changed from "Applicant in Process" to choose an interview date. I guess we have to call them to set up the date though since I couldn't click on any date! Absolutely ecstatic though! Definitely one of my top choices since my best friends and family all live in Illinois! 🙂
 
also got an interview invite yesterday, super excited!
complete at the end of july (~27th?), applicant in process for 2-3 weeks.

YAY! all the silence from EVERYWHERE ELSE was starting to get to me!

so I know we're supposed to call them to schedule an interview...but where does it actually tell you to do that?
 
Called and scheduled an interview for October 4th. I wish there were open dates toward the end of September (there's one on 9/17) but I'm hoping this would still get me a decision on Oct 15th. Excited!

For those that might be interested, I submitted the secondary on 7/16 and my status changed to 'Applicant in Process' about two weeks ago. And yesterday, when I logged on, I had the table with interview dates. I'm an in-state applicant.

They snail mail you a letter with interview information, but I bet someone on here can give you the number. It's probably just the regular admissions office line.

Yes, it's the regular number. You can see the number at the bottom of the status page where it has other contact info. You call and press 0 on the keypad to talk to a staff member to schedule an interview.
 
Another oos here with interview and no ties to IL. Completed in July sometime.

I'm going to try and call them tomorrow to schedule it on that day as welll--probably do a morning interview if I can. Is there a link with more info to interview information--haven't checked the website yet, in my defence. I didn't see the 4th of Oct date until AFTER I emailed my profs with the 14th, 21st, 26th dates--all thurs/tues days when I have class 🙁..Monday the 4th is good bc I don't have class! *sigh*

I have been checking my status all today because I knew it would happen today (crazy intuition). This is the first school to want to interview me that I have applied to in the past... so soooo psyched! It's also super close to home and in downtown chicago and yesss!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to do afternoon, but I also want to get home to Cali that night...we'll see what flights are like. I'll go check right now, and wil probably do PM just because I'm also more "alive" in the afternoon time lol.

Let's see -- I checked around 5:00pm EST time and again around 7:30pm. It changed between that time. (I also checked two times earlier today. I really had to restrain myself... I was starting to feel like a crazy person but I had a dream last night that I got an interview invite from UIC today. Some dreams do come true! And yes, I do feel like a crazy person right now.)

AND YES trio! Do afternoon. I am sure there will be a flight out of O'hare to Cali later than 7pm. There has to be. (Of course, this depends on what part of Cali)

I have been application is in process since I became complete on 7/13! Why do they hate me??!!!

I was complete since 7/15 and I'm in the same boat....I have no idea what the deal is, but I'd like to know something either way sooner rather than later!
 
Hey guys for the people who want to interview on oct 4th, they only have AM slots- as far as I was told. (today, 10am Chicago time)

You could always double check though.

When I talked to the lady to schedule my interview, she mentioned that only AM interviews were left on Oct. 4th and the only two slots she gave me (to choose from) were 9 am and 11:30 am. I ended up taking the 9 am.

Don't take my word for it though. I could be wrong about it. I hope you guys get the day/time you want.

Is the interview day all day though? Or do you just come in for the morning (interview time) and then leave?

They should update their interview availability times too. The 8th will be good for me also <sigh>
 
Sigh...it would be nice for them to post like information about the interview day...maybe we'll learn when they call! Haha, I reallly need the 4th of October, or I'll hvae to miss class. I guess I'll "take a chance and call when I have time tomorrow' and see what happens. If I get it, woot..if not *le sigh*.

Don't hold me too it but when I called today at 2:36pm PST there were these spots: Peoria: Oct 1 Chicago: Oct 4, Oct 14 Urbana: Oct 22

I was told that if I came in for the 9am interview, I should be getting out by around 1:30-2. And if I came for the 11:30am interview, I should be getting out around 4:30-5. Looks like the interview day is about 4.5-5 hrs long. Not sure if you have to come in early if you have a PM interview though since I can't imagine anyone being there until 6 or 7!
