I submitted supplemental a little while ago, complete last week, email about scheduling interview today. I really wouldn't stress about it, I think the admissions office is just really relaxed/less structured than other schools and the confirmation will surely (but maybe slowly) come.

I just recently got my AMCAS received acknowledgment this week, so don't fret too much ncboy
I applied super early and am shocked UNC is so slow. They weren't this slow last year, though I did read somewhere that they are switching to a new computer system and that is causing some issues. I hope that is true

This is true. They switched our email, financial aid stuff, class websites, and everything to new systems. It's been a fairly smooth transition, but there are kinks. If you have any questions, they're pretty friendly in the admissions office, so don't be afraid to ask.

Hey guys. How long did it take everybody to receive a secondary? My primary was verified on 8/09, I received a "we received your application" e-mail on 8/16 ... but still no secondary. I'm getting worried! Maybe 3 days isn't that long?

Three days are not long at all; it took me 14 days. Don't be neurotic about it.
Edit: I just checked its website. According to FAQ #14 of this, they screen before sending out secondaries, and IS who receives a secondary is guaranteed an interview.

When I go to the website it shows the date I selected in green and it has the date under the agenda tab. Is that what yours looks like?

I'm sure I'm fine, I just never got an email.

When I go to the website, the date I selected has a big green check mark on it. I scheduled my interview on 8/17 and less than an hour later i got the email confirming it. Maybe you should call them to verify so you don't have to worry about it anymore?

Great, mine has the check mark as well. I will call them next week just to make sure. Did you see you can click on your date and see the names and emails of the other people interviewing? Kind of strange.

are you guys in-state or out-of-state?

i know unc screens for secondaries and if you're out-of-state it can be hard to get one.

if you're in-state you might want to think about calling the admissions office and asking. last year someone i know had their primary mixed up at the admissions office and called to get it sorted out and got their secondary a day or two later. its unlikely that your primary got lost or any thing but if they're switching systems then things might have gotten mixed up in the shuffle, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Finally got the reapp secondary today. My only worry now is that my essays are going to be garbage because I'm so burnt out on writing them. Sucks too, since this is my top choice (and absolute last secondary). But still, excited to finally get it!

The reapplicant application is almost identical to the previous application, with a few sections erased. No real formal essays, just asking you what improvement you've made, about a volunteer experience that stood out above others, and where you see yourself in 15 years. Pretty straight forward. I'm amazed at the number of OOS applications that UNC gets every year despite how impossible it is to get in. It really says a lot about the school.

I don't know how many OOS they send secondaries to, but last year they only interviewed 100 OOS, and 21 marticulated but don't know how many offers to OOS they gave.... hope this helps a little 🙂
