Lol... I am. Doesn't it feel like we're on the low priority end of the high priority end of the wait list!?

BTW... I keep checking my spam folder multiple times a day in case it ends up there! I suggest you all to do the same.
 
Still hanging out on the OOS high-priority list. Each day my hope dwindles a little bit more. I'm sure everyone feels the same, that they are on the low-priority end of the high-priority list until their number comes up. Just hang in there and keep checking the email!

so there are probably around 30ish people on the OOS HP list, assuming 1/3 of which are on sdn...I dont think they will be getting to any of the mid priority this year, and probably only half the HP list..
lets hope all 9 of us get in..

like some of you, I just recently got accepted and have no idea where to live. Is anyone looking for a roommate? If so just message me.

Well, it's a win-win situation... I'm assuming you're going elsewhere, and it's somewhere you'd rather be, so that's great for you... and well, hope is barely surviving...

My biggest fear now is getting an acceptance a week before classes begin, or worse, the day before! Anyone else feel the same...? If so, how do you plan on dealing with the issue should it become reality?

They usually send emails around 1 or 2pm..so in about an hour
 
nothing today either...after the 1st week of july last year there was no more action...this sucks

There may have been no action on SDN after the 1st week of July last year, but I know for a fact that there was at least some activity well beyond that point last year. That being said, orientation is significantly earlier this year (during the 1st week of August) and as such, I would assume waitlist movement will also stop earlier. Good luck to all of those still waiting.

Thanks for the information... I'm just not sure if I should be happy hearing this or sad... 😕

So I barely have a shot? August 22 is the last date according to the email they sent, and I'm guessing that is start of classes? I'm extremely anxious now!

Yeah, the 22nd is the start of classes. Orientation is August 3rd or something.
 
3 people got accepted on the 17th (Friday). Me RanRun and ShoaibS15 tomorrow comon!
 
I talked to admissions today and they still expect there to be some movement, so hope is not lost. They said schools are calling with offers for currently accepted students, but they can't say how many, just that spots will be filled as they open.

What does this mean? Schools actually correspond with each other regarding students admitted at one school and waitlisted at another?

Not necessarily. I would guess that more than 95% of all of the acceptees who deline their acceptance do so to go to another school. Schools know this, so they can make comments like the one you quoted.

July 1st today, and with this long weekend we lose Monday the 4th... the days are just fallin' off, man! Maybe next week? 🙄
I don't know what's going to happen at this point in the game. Let's see...

From what I know (I believe this was written in the official rules given by AAMC), if an applicant applied to two schools, and was accepted at both (or even waitlisted at one)... the school that the applicant did not accept can contact the student to try to pull them their way, as long as the student has not went through orientation yet. I believe the schools' admissions departments can communicate with each other as well.

Yes, at this point, they do - as per the AAMC traffic rules, if a medical school plans to offer a student, currently on the waitlist at another school, a spot, after June 1st, they are supposed to ensure that the school to which the applicant is currently accepted is notified immediately by telephone (and later by writing)

Anyone know how fast the wait is moving compared to last year? Or how many got in from last year's wait?

I heard on a Wednesday myself, so I'm pretty sure you could hear any weekday now. Not to digress, but any guys who have already been admitted still looking for roommates out there?
 
Hey guys, I was accepted by Toledo back in February but I just got off the waitlist at Cincinnati. I'll be withdrawing my application here; hopefully it goes to one of you guys/girls!

Start of the second week of July... Friday today... eh...

I'm trying to stay positive, but man... this is a TOUGH waiting game. Anyone talk to admissions recently to see how active the movement on the waitlist is at this point? I guess I have to wish for some really good luck today... Good luck, guys...

Got this from admissions yesterday.

<The alternate list is still moving but very slowly now. We have not been able to offer any positions for the last 2 weeks. Once orientation begins on Aug. 3rd we would not expect to offer additional acceptances.>

I asked about getting an offer after the 3rd, and she said it happens, but the chances are VERY slim.

Anyway, hopefully a few more of us OOSers will get in. If not, hopefully this year's app will be more fruitful for all of us.

That is actually very disheartening... Thanks for the update, though. I appreciate it.
 
on interview day the guy was like... they got through all of the high priority and half of the middle priority OOS kids......... anyone else remember that?
 
I honestly cannot recall that, but I know something regarding the waitlist was brought up. Even if that was said, apparently that is not the case this year... or this year the high priority list consists of 80% of the list, lol.
 
Hey guys, I just got accepted this morning off of high priority. I'm OOS, MCAT 32, SMP GPA 3.8.

I'm very excited!
 
Accepted today, IS, and will be attending.
 
Congratulations guys! Well, I guess that might be the end of it... But, who knows...? How many more on the HP list do you guys think?
