invite yesterday too! complete in august as well. 33, 3.7 out of state. i had sent an in the area email about a month ago and had given up hope. scheduled for Feb 22!

Dont get me wrong, ucla is my top choice in CA, but come on. WashU, harvard and penn are in their own category. Especially for oos ppl

Aha, the catch is that I'm currently living in the LA area. Without the cost of travel, why pass up the opportunity to see more programs and meet more people?

We have people currently in our class who chose UCLA over WashU... it's not *that* crazy of a decision. Both are great schools though, congrats on all the success!

This. I know of people at UNC, UCLA, and Michigan who all were admitted to other Top 20 schools like WashU, Penn, Duke, Columbia and chose these elite publics.

And it makes sense. They're fantastic schools filled with brilliant kids that offer their students the chance to compete for the best residencies at a fraction of the cost. Further, some applicants don't share the research-first focus of many of the big names.

Yes! Precisely, it's an excellent program and I don't want to waste an invite unless there is a significant cost (e.g. the $400 cross-country flight) associated.

I'll be there on 2/9, hope to see some of you there! 🙂

I have a probably stupid question, and I wanted to see if anyone knows the answer before I ask admissions and embarrass myself. When they request transcripts from interviewed applicants, 1) do they want high school transcripts? and 2) do they want ALL of your transcripts? I have transcripts from 5 different schools. All of them are on AMCAS, but only 2 of them actually matter... Thanks guys.

No one wants high school transcripts.

I would send them *all* your college transcripts just like you did for AMCAS. That's what I did anyways.

Haha, okay. Thanks!

I had called them a while back regarding that same question, and they said only when you are accepted should you go ahead and send in all your transcripts. Before that you do not have to.

When you get the interview invite, it says Requested for Transcript. I remember being told on the day of the interview that they want the transcripts even before we're accepted just as a rule as well as reading somewhere to send the transcripts as soon as possible. When I sent all of my transcripts in, it changed from Requested to Received and I'm still waiting to hear a decision from them.

That was confusing to me, because I did not understand why they needed my transcripts before admittance, what if I do not get admitted. It would seem unnecessary to have 600+ interviewees send in their transcripts only for them to hold on to 120. Oh well, just to be safe I will send mine. Thanks. 🙂

An interview related question.
If we are told to report to the admissions office at 11:45 AM, when can we expect to be done?
Thanks!

I had the same question, and this is the response I got: (from a couple of pages back)

I was part of the 11:45am group. It's not late because they have another group in the morning as well. I'm looking at the agenda they gave us, and it says that you should be back to the Center for Health Sciences by 4:00pm, and that was precisely the case on my interview day.

Good luck on your interview day! :luck:

I turned in my secondary on 12/15.
My stats are 3.5 cum, 3.7 univ, 3.99 science
30O. URM. Disadvantaged.

Congrats to everyone getting interview invites!

Can't wait to hear about little envelopes though... should be any day now. Does anyone know if they will send emails with the letters? I know there is a final decision letter spot on the status page, but I was wondering if it is updated (with corresponding email sent) simultaneously with snail mail. Thanks to anyone with insight into this mystery.

Do you happen to know if status page will tell you the final decision or if it will only state that mail has been sent? Thanks!

Looking at last years thread, they were only shown that a letter was sent. But accepted students also got some sort of 'accepted student checklist' on their status page.

I received a rejection via snail mail today - no email. Pre-secondary, so I do not know about the online status change. And good luck to all applicants, and congrats to those accepted this cycle.

Does your status page say final decision letter sent? Bc i dont think u need a secondary invite to access it. Just go to the applicant status page on their admissions website

Just got the same letter today via snail mail. Good luck to everyone!

May I ask when u were complete and/or stats? I hope you find success at one of your other choices

My staus page is blank. It says all the categories and there is no information other than this.

🙁
was it pre sec., post sec. or post interview?
Now I'm afraid to go check my mail box!!!

Earlier in the thread, they asked if anyone was getting secondaries so it's probably a pre-secondary rejection.

Also a WashU accept here waiting on UCLA! I loved the place when I interviewed, and I'm longing to come back to the Best Coast 🙂

Good luck everyone still getting invites and all

Looks like the application status page is down for maintenance...does this mean anything? Probably not

Rejected by postal mail today. postmark on 1/27, delivered 1/30.

Is this post-interview? If yes, when did you interview?
From what I recall, UCLA does not reject post-interview until June/July. Everyone who interviews is considered wait-listed until accepted (or rejected).

I'm just curious
For those getting letters(rejections or acceptances)
Does your status page show that a letter has been sent?

From last year's forums, it looks like the first instances of post-interview rejections were some people who posted on 5/31/11 saying they got the rejection. They weren't absolutely clear about whether it was post-interview or pre-interview.

Do those interviewing in February have a legitimate chance of acceptance or are you interviewing for a waitlist spot?

Does anyone when UCLA is offering their last interviews?

Last interview day = February 24th, they will extend invites until the 23rd.

I interviewed in November and was told that day that we would be hearing back in January... Does anyone know when we might be hearing back (since I haven't heard yet)?
