Congrats!! When did you find out? By email, letter sent, or ..

Earlier this afternoon, the program director emailed to say the letter is on the way and to give revisit details.

Congratulations! I hope the regular MD acceptances are soon to follow. Thanks for sharing!

Nicely done. Any change to your status page?

Called adcom just now. Acceptances (MD) going out this week! Not all of them, he said. Some will trickle until August.

Pretty sure I saw a stack of skinny letters in the admissions office when I walked by this morning...

So are we now assuming that this week is "acceptance week?" Hopefully so.
I called as well yesterday. The guy I talked to at the UCLA seemed a little bit frustrated, possibly because he had been bombarded with lots of questions already. (But that's what you get by telling us Jan 15th when we interviewed and then blowing two months past that without any sign of remorse) 🙂

At any rate, he confirmed to me as well that towards the end of this week at good percentage will be accepted into the MD program. I console myself with the hope that maybe our group this year was so good, they just can't decide who to not accept! (Yes, I will dream on!) 🙂

I just checked this thread after avoiding it for so long, and reading that acceptances are going out soon makes me so nervous. UCLA is my dream school, and I don't have acceptances elsewhere. I really hope I get in, and hear sooner than later.

To people who've checked previous years:

Did the "Final Decision Letter Sent" status update prior to people receiving their physical letters? Should we expect to identify whether we've been accepted or not by checking that first on Friday?

At my interview, I asked how would we know if we were accepted if the letter was lost in the mail and they told us it should be reflected in our online status (that a letter was sent).

Cheers!
Sam

Yea...when I called last Friday to ask, I definitely sensed exasperation from his tone of voice.

Based on last year, you guys should keep an eye out for the "accepted student checklist" on the status page :luck:

I can't log in to the status check website right now.... anyone else? :scared:

When I checked my status just now, it said "No Matching records found or incomplete data field!" but when I enter it without the last 4 digits of my social it comes up just fine. Who knows, maybe they're updating something?

+1

You are a crazy good detective, btw. I never would have thought to do that...

+1 . Intriguing... is this happening to everyone?

This maintenance happens every week, so I wouldn't put too much behind it. Although this is a special week...

Lets just hope then this is an update of the letters sent today, UCLA is really playing hard to get (into).

Hey everyone,
If I wanted to write an interest letter, should I address it to the admissions committee or to someone specific?
Good Luck to everyone!

just say "to whom it may concern", and email it to the admissions office. its always better to not include a specific name, especially when these updates go to committees (which consist of several people). this is the worst experience ever just waiting for this school. unbelievable...i know they are very thorough with their admissions in being fair to the whole applicant pool, but i wish they disclosed exactly how long we would be waiting before the cycle began. first acceptances were supposed to be out on january 15th...

You are not alone...

Hey! I just wanted to wish you both the best of luck!

I can only imagine how nerve-racking it must be waiting on your first acceptance. I'll be rooting for you, and I hope that UCLA becomes your first acceptance(what a first acceptance to have, huh?).

Good luck! 😀:luck:

status page still down (well at least if you enter all the data haha). could this be the quiet before the storm? or just another computer glitch that causes heart attacks for many?

probably the latter...but i'm hopeful!😀

I had a heart attack when I saw this thread get bumped...as I'm sure many others will. It's gonna be a looong couple of hours or days or whatever.

In previous website updates did it say, "Please wait 5 working days for any written communication"?

That's what it says if you log in without SSN or underneath the scroll bar if you fail to log-in.

It might be that they sent the letters yesterday and then took the website down to allow the letters to get to people before changing their status to "accepted student checklist".

I'm waiting for students in LA to start posting they've received letters today or tomorrow. :xf:

Status site is back up....no changes here. How about for anyone else?

Status page is dead again!

They're probably reading this and laughing. Hopefully the suspense will make the eventual decisions that much more exciting!
