Same status here. I think we should feel blessed that we're still in the running after not hearing on Friday night. We just need to be patient and let the process play out. Best of luck, I'm rooting for you!
 
Accepted! But I can't open the accepted applicant picture profile. Is anyone else having problems with it?? I want to see my future classmates!

I don't think it's been put on the server yet. I'm excited to see it though! I won't be surprised if our "thing someone might not know about you" statement surfaces again. One of the M2s I met on interview day said that will follow/haunt us for many years to come! 🙂
 
I interviewed there last year, but I guess I was in the 3% that didn't get into anywhere else either. I'm thinking I should call or email and see how they feel about me this year - still haven't heard back. Last year I got an invite around this week.

WOW has anyone checked out the new admissions tracker? Those stats are (still) mad insane. Plus only 39 IS interviews left... *sigh*
 
Interview Invite! Friday 11/18. It says there are no student hosts listed, so I'm assuming I should go with a hotel? I guess I'm not sure if they're all taken or if they just haven't been listed yet for this date.

Congrats to all the recent accepts! Can't wait to see UMich and Ann Arbor 🙂
 
you have to check frequently to see if any are available.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you get an auto-invite? I'm unsure how that works.

I believe the OP was talking about secondary auto invite. Not II.OP feel free to correct me if I am wrong. 🙂
 
Anyone notice the latest tracker update is incorrect? UNLESS, the average/high/low MCAT for accepted students was IDENTICAL to that of those who were offered interviews....

Actually, I think that is how the auto-invite works. They submit primary, offered interview, and then have to complete secondary before interview date. I am 87.4543% sure that I am correct on this one.

I think there may have been an error in your calculation. I re-calculated the certainty of this value, it's 87.4544%
 
I stalked the UMICH twitter page, and does anyone know what R and NR offers are? The post was made on Oct 18
 
On Oct 18th, according to the UM twitter, they will make about 75 II by Friday.

Did they already start giving out the II for this week? Are you notified by e-mail first or through the status page?

I knew I was off somewhere - was it in the original conversion that I forgot a sig fig or was it later?

It is an auto-II. I was really happily surprised when I opened that email!

Check out some of the first few pages of this thread - apparently 15% of interview invites are automatic. Also, straight from UMich Twitter: "Auto Interview Criteria: Your stats, school, EC's, LOR's AND Directors Review."

What are the interviews like at Michigan? I know that there are three but are they all with faculty or are there students as well? Has anyone had a difficult experience/faced tough questions, or are the interviews here pretty conversational?

P.S. I looked through the thread but didn't find any feedback on this. Sorry!

They can be with any combination of alums, faculty members, and students. Three conversational 30-minute interviews in a row. I absolutely loved each of my interviewers, and I was hard-pressed to find someone who didn't say the same.

I am with you guys. I have been under review since early July and have not heard anything since that time. I am actually surprised I have not received a rejection yet. Michigan seems to be a school that accepts people with big hearts and big numbers. Since I am OOS and have a 32 MCAT, I assume I may not have competitive enough stats, but I would still love to receive an invite. The people I have met at my other interviews that also interviewed at Michigan told me how there was unique sense of enthusiasm at Michigan.

Does anyone know if they have been sending out rejections lately?

One additional question for anybody - what is the deal with the photo release on the secondary application site when scheduling an interview? Are we obligated to release the photo/other information or can we say no and be equally reviewed?

I would be very surprised if they would actually hurt for your being private. I've seen the photo been used for the actually interviewers and adcom to kind of get to see you and be able to pick you out on interview day, but the photo is also released to all other interviewees interviewing on your day through an email that is sent out to all the interviewees (so they can arrange rides/hotels) and to current Michigan students. Your picture is also sent out to all accepted applicants and current Michigan students once accepted.

I've seen people both on the interview page and the accepted page with their picture not shown, so I doubt it really hurts you (but who can really say about unconscious forces).

I have a gpa of 3.87 and science gpa of 3.78 and my mcat score was 33Q. I am going to apply to mostly mid tier schools like Tufts, BU, U of Vermont, Umass, etc in the spring. I was thinking about taking a shot at a one or two top schools like Johns Hopkins, Duke, U of Michigan, Stanford, Weill, etc. I was wondering of which of the top 10-15 schools is the least competitive or generally accepts a wider range of scores if you have good Ecs. I was also wondering if anybody knows if any of these schools are more favorable to accepting latino students with “lower” stats. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have any advice but I will say that among the top 10 Michigan and Wash U really like big numbers. Make what you will of that.
 
Interview invite. So excited. Complete in early August, 37S and 3.9 gpa.
 
I don't have big numbers but still got an interview invite.

Interview Invite!! Low numbers, but instate non-trad.
Probably a VERY VERY slim chance...but excited and definitely honored nonetheless😀

Got it AFTER being on Hold for 2 months. I had lost all hope.
